She never said that those things happened to or were an issue for her. The title of the video is therefor misleading, and regardless of the validity of her advice, it makes her seem like someone who was looking for a clever way to get more views of her video and more sales of her book. If it happened to her, then maybe she could have said something, oh...like... "These were the things that happened to me when I tried bulletproof coffee" and then listed them. REAL SIMPLE.

This has not been my experience at all. I'm a breastfeeding woman (of a toddler so it isn't quite as extreme as a newborn in terms of feeding) and i'm fine doing a 14hr fast THEN having a bulletproof coffee made with 1tb butter, 1tbs coconut oil and then keep fasting for around 2-3 more hours which takes me till a 12am lunch (and i'm usually finished dinner by 7pm). No hormone issues, no cravings, in fact i have the best energy ever in the morning. One thing to note though is i'm not trying to do keto. I'm just doing bulletproof IF and then eating a low carb high protein+fat lunch then eating whatever higher carb dinner i fancy. Maybe that is making a difference because i'm still eating between 35-50% carbs for my calories overall (and i'm pescetarian but was recently close to vegan).

A friend of mine who was breastfeeding was doing something very similar to what you describe doing... fasting till noon, then breaking the fast with butter coffee.... after two or three months she started feeling wiped out/fatigued/ and a little crazy... she did a bunch of research and found some studies showing that breastfeeding removes Omega 3 fats (DHA and EPA) from the mother's brain and body... apparently in her case this was exacerbated somehow by her long daily fasts. She solved it by adding a combination of krill oil and fish oil which she'd take along with the butter coffee, and felt really great again. It made such a difference to her, I've been encouraging her to make a video about it :)

DoodleZen I also am a breastfeeding mama, and I enjoy a (DECAF)bulletproof coffee in the morning and feel very full and satisfied from it until lunch time as well. I am eating a high fat, low carb ketogenic though. (Only for about two weeks now though .). But, before I started eating keto, I drank bulletproof coffee every morning. I didn't even know it was a keto thing, to be honest. Lol. But, anyway, I think if we feel ok doing it and we don't see any signs in our bodies that it's causing a problem, I would say we are some of the women who bulletproof coffee works for. 👍

I use lite coffee (50% less caffeine) with heavy cream and coconut oil and have had great results. No caffeine jitters but good steady energy all day long.

Love your videos. You deliver concise information quickly and without fuss . I'm male and I make traditional bulletproof coffee, and have no cravings. My wife reckons it makes me talk faster though . She has some thyroid/weight issues and I'm trying really hard to get her to understand that fat isn't all bad. I'm a coffee drinker and I'm trying to cut back on sugar and go for more natural sweeteners. I don't have a problem with dairy in my coffee but recently I've been drinking my coffee black and with honey and been getting a good "vibe" and a bit chipper in the morning, while in trying to get in better health, one coffee concoction that I need to drink a little more often to continue the fat burning process. What you need is raw milk (do research and find your local farmer for it) or grass feed butter, coconut oil, and natural sweeteners. You can tweak this coffee drink to your liking even vegans can drink it black with coconut oil and natural sweeteners or raw local honey to sweeten it up naturally as long as they can get the fats and oils in to burn

Thank you for making this video. I had a terrible experience w/ the bulletproof coffee, so I thought a higher-fat diet wasn't for me and I went back to very low fat diet which was good in some ways and awful in others. I tried your coffee and it made me feel a lot calmer without the other effects. And yum, cacao butter is the bomb. I've now been doing a slightly less c dense version of it in the mornings with good results. Game changer!

I add Ghee (instead of traditional butter), Vital Proteins collagen powder (a fantastic protein, and collagen is great for SO many things!), Cacao powder, Cacao butter, cinnamon, vanilla POWDER, cardamom, a bit of stevia.. and RAW cream. It's pretty damn good! Of course I also add MCT Oil, or Brain Octaine Oil too!

Butter in coffee is NOT synonymous with Bulletproof brand coffee. Putting butter in coffee was around long before Bulletproof brand coffee was made, yet you keep connecting the two as if they are the same thing. It's like saying, "Maxwell House coffee AKA cream in your coffee..." You can put butter or cream in any brand of coffee and likewise you can omit butter from Bulletproof brand coffee and still drink it.

Very informative, even though I still prefer the more traditional approach. I must say though, and please don't take this the wrong way, but this video is exceptionally drawn out. It could have been half the length and brought the same point across and relayed the same information. Just my opinion though. Thank you for the alternative. Hi Leanne, I am wondering why you instruct to blend the coffee for 1 minute and then add the collagen and blend for 10 more second. I have been just adding all the ingredients to my nutribullet and blending for 10 seconds. It seems to do the trick, especially if I've pre-ground the hemp hearts as my nutribullet doesn't do that well. I'm just wondering if I'm missing out on something but not blending the mixture longer. Thanks.

I take my coffee with actual bullets , 2 per day the only downside is when I fart I got to go outside & aim at the sky to avoid anyone getting hurt ,other than that my colon is clean as a whistle(whatever I have left)

When I do my bulletproof coffee instead of use mold and toxin coffees I use a product from Thailand called shape coffee, it is instant but it has major benefits, it has Ganoderma Lucidum (Which is an oxydizer of the body) It was White Kidney Bean (Carb-Blocker) It has Collagen (Great for skin tightening and balance of hormones) And Morgina (Which assists in losing weight). If you have any kind of fungus Ganoderma Lucidum will assist in cleansing the body by putting your body into high oxygen mode, remember fungus cannot live in an alkaline environment. I used to have really bad nail fungus and since I started drinking the bulletproof coffee two times a day and making yak butter tea at night which keeps me full until morning, my skin ailments are finally going away.

Healthful Pursuit, I made the White Chocolate Rocket Fueled Latte w/Tea. It was good , just had a slightly bitter after taste but all in all it was really tasty!! So question....Immediately after I drank it I got an extreme urge to move and was kinda jittery. I began to move and 3 hrs later, I had cleaned my entire house and washed 3 loads of clothes. I cleaned the oven and cleaned windows and I had to move really fast while doing it. It was amazing! my family was laughing at how fast I was moving but I just couldnt help it...LoL! Is it normal to get such an energy boost? and if so, what can I put less of if I dont want that big of an energy boost? And my appetite was suppressed for about 4hrs, I was not hungry at all. I really like this but I wanna make sure its safe for me.

has anyone tried using mascarpone cheese for BPC? Well its 1 gram protein 1 gram carb and 12 grams fat pr table sppon. By itself it tastes very much like heavy whipping cream. I just melt it on the stove and whisk it in and it is sooooo good. That seems like it follows her rules right?

First of all to Leanne, I would like to mention that I absolutely love the way you present yourself and the keto lifestyle! You make clear in your videos that one size does not fit all. You make perfect sense most of the time. If I do not understand, I attribute this to my lack of knowledge or experience. To those with unconstructive criticism, you might be throwing the baby out with the bath water. I've heard Leanne coin the phrase often, "if this resonates with you" ...run with it so-to-speak, or "if this doesn't resonate with you" ...then you're not bound to it so-to-speak. There's no need to bash what you don't understand 😊

Bulletproof coffee makes me feel like absolute crap a few hours after drinking it. Black coffee + intermittent fasting is the way to go. One of the biggest reasons people do IF is to burn body fat -- not the fat from 300 to 600 calories of butter and MCT oil. Doing intermittent fasting while drinking BP coffee defeats the whole purpose of fasting. Really it's nothing more than mass marketing hype. Plus, Dave Asprey is a total charlatan.

+Matt Jarvie Wow, I logged in just to reply to this.. Something I do not do often.. Ever. Fasting = no insulin spike. If you drink BPC and feel like crap the culprit is one or an accompaniment of things.. The coffee has a higher level of mycotoxins and your not using grassfed butter, if you are using normal butter it's so so so bad and will make you feel like shit. Also organic coconut butter has worked for me, however i now purchase mct oil and it is much better. I am a 260 lb bodybuilder and I follow his diet completely. My big body works in a warehouse and I stack pallets all day, I must burn a ton of fucking calories and should be tired but I don't. Dave Asprey legit has changed my life and I'm getting ripped. You are in a fast even with the 460 calorie drink in the A.M.

+The Mind Muscle Yeah, from a hormonal perspective you could say that pure fat does not break a fast because it does not cause an insulin spike, which is only partly true. But a calorie is still a calorie, and if you're having a cup of coffee with 600 calories, that is still more calories than most people eat in a regular breakfast, and they're calories that must be counted as part of the overall daily caloric intake. In reality, true intermittent fasting should not include any caloric intake, nor should it be necessary once you are fat-adapted. And not everyone is a 260 lb bodybuilder with under 12% body fat. If I am going to fast, I am going to fast and not ingest ANYTHING with a caloric value, since that is one of the whole benefits of fasting from a fat loss perspective. You're not going to be burning body fat when you just gulped down 300-600 calories of fat from butter and MCT oil. Also, the mycotoxin thing is a load of nonsense which comes from only Dave Asprey. The fact is NO good coffee has or should have mycotoxins. The coffee Dave Asprey sells is no different from any other coffee, other than the fact that it's sold for an exorbitant price yet has nothing to substantiate the claim that it is somehow different from other quality coffees on the market. And yes, I always used the recommended Kerrygold unsalted grass-fed butter. I did NOT, however, use the "Bulletproof" coffee beans, which is a moot point anyway for reasons explained above.

I brought my buddy a cup of bpc that weighs in at 135 and reported feeling like a boss for twice as long as Dave says. I happen to use 4 TBS of butter and mct or I get insanely hungry because of my jobs activity level is insane. The mycotoxin thing is not exclusive to Dave either, how many people are as famous as him with a huge following and does what he does? There are actually a lot of companies that test their beans for mycotoxins, none of which u can buy from walmart! Haha

Also w/ high fat diet there is no need for calorie counting, you will only be hungry when you absolutely need fuel as aposed to blood sugar lows. The extra "calories" from fat only mean more brain power and exellerated fat loss.

I've been on bpc since January. I think the symptoms you mentioned is not because of the bulletproof. My first 2 days were like that too because my body was used to sugar and carbs and what not. After a few days the cravings left and i lost 30 lbs. wasn't even religiously dieting. After that i lived in a resto for 2 months and ate resto food 3 times a day with dessert and what not. I did gain a few pounds but I i lost it again when i went back to bpc a week ago.

Now that it is warm out I was wondering if there was a way to get this effect with an iced coffee? ( And well, for some people seasons don't matter with hot or iced coffees- people like what they like, regardless of the weather outside). Am I asking too much? Or could we make this and let it cool down- put it in fridge and then take it out after a while with come ice cubes added in?

hi LeAnn!!! I have a question. mct oil is not recommended on an empty stomach due to possible nausea. I am a bit nervous on trying it in my coffee only because I took it by itself after my morning coffee and felt really ill. I really want to try and jump my body into ketosis with the mct. suggestions??

Does anyone else think butter in coffee tastes like death? Every morning I have a straight black coffee, then about 10 mins later I have a organic ginger tea with a tbsp of coconut oil and a tbsp grass fed butter, I prefer the taste with ginger tea, plus the ginger acts as a anti- inflammatory.

Let me know how the high fat works long term , is this good for preventing the number one cause of death in the U.S. , heart disease ? I'm 49 and in the best shape of my life without eating any animal products or fats . I did high pro low carb 20 years ago and never got in the condition I enjoy now

Oh gosh, I do not think you did badly in singing. Just keep up with it. I do not think that it is good for anyone who is having "some strange things", do not consume it. Only if you staying active, like pushing weights and such, then consume "Bullet Proof Coffee". Good information though. Yay to yah!!

Can I ask what is it about this recipe that stabilizes hormones and reduces cravings more than the regular Bulletproof coffee recipe? I think I missed that... I have been experiencing this as well, but assumed it was because my body had not yet adjusted to fasting.
