its because some people use the old 180 - your age to calculate their Z2 pace and hr and its reeeeeeaally conservative, the correct way is to use your functional threshold pace/hr as your mesure for Z2 the difference for me is about 20% faster Z2

I think 4 w/kg in time for Ironman Texas is very optimistic, unless he loses a lot of weight. He is not completely untrained, and has done structured bike training before. Maybe 3.6-3.8 is achievable in such short time frame.

I agree...but always good to have a stretch goal. We don't know if Nick has latent potential as a cyclist or not. He leaned up quite well for his last ironman (you could see it in the pictures) as well.
@chrisoman874 жыл бұрын
ahaha yea I was saying the exact same thing, 4.4w/kg is pro cyclist and he's going to be training 3 disciplines coming from Cat C, that's a pretty unrealistic goal. It also isn't linear growth (unless maybe your hitting the steroids hard), I went from Cat C to B pretty easily because it was semi-serious to serious but my growth in Cat B has been slow.
@danielmorton43064 жыл бұрын

@kimberleegardner35804 жыл бұрын
There are two tests you want to do. A sweat test (the rate you sweat) and a salt test (how much sodium you lose when you sweat) and then work with both of those. I had this same test done back in March but my results were onsite which was really cool. I found I was a very salty sweater, so I consume a lot more BASE salt during training and racing.
