Simple, basic and functional. This is what’s going in my 5th gen. I recently purchased a Dometic CFX40 fridge. I’ve been ice coolers and thermoelectric “iceless” coolers, but for more than 3 days I’m loving the Dometic. Found a $100 discount with lots of searching the web, new sub

Got a similar Toyota that outfitted very similar yours, except I opted for an ARB fridge sitting behind the driver seat. Lived out of it for 4 months and put 16000 miles on it in about the same time period.

Good job! Especially with the sleeping set up, I've been thinking of doing the same! Do you have a pattern for the ply wood cut sections?!

Nice rig! No need to over spend on brands where they don't provide additional benefit. You've make a great vehicle for convenient and comfortable trips.

Love it, you could make those stands at @9:10 fold / flap also, so they can fold down. EASY.

I live in CHCH as well. I have the opportunity to buy a surf like yours. The 4wd system seems to have some problems. I've found a couple of surf FB groups and posted but doesn't look like people respond to questions much. Do you know of any forums. Obviously not American forums. Nice rig. Did you fit the snorkel yourself? Thanks

The n65 hiluxes are hard to find in good condition and the ones sold from Japan are expensive. This is a very good alternative and it comes in automatic which is a plus if you don't like manual.

what're the cables from the roof rack to the front bumper bar called? I want to buy some but cannot find any name for them to search up.
@FormulaJosh5 жыл бұрын
Those are called branch deflectors or limb risers, their purpose being pretty obvious from the name :) Have to be reasonably strong if you actually expect to be using them, rather than just as an aesthetic choice. I imagine it wouldn't be too hard to DIY, assuming you do some research. Cutting anything thicker than bike brake cables neatly so it doesn't fray requires some technique. Would probably be ideal if it protected the snorkel too, either by using a longer roof rack that overhangs the windscreen (I imagine this would badly bent the already mediocre fuel economy), or by using a different snorkel.

DIY best option... easy as.. search youtube, i cant remember who, possibly Roothy?? did a step by step video on how to make/setup/install them..
