My God, it seems impossible to me, but I remember watching you when I was a kid back in the 1970s on Saturday afternoons. It looks like you haven't aged either. That seems impossible to me too. Thanks for all of those pleasant memories.

Great story !! Lived in Eastern Shore Maryland for 60 years, the Potomac River was the only place I ever fished that the bass have adapted to brackish water, fishing by pilings with barnacles on them catching 3-4 lb Bass, now I live in South Alabama and it's the same, launching on the Potomac from Smallwood Park in Maryland it's a great fishery, thanks for everything Roland

Story tellers are the best!!!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻. My father is a great storyteller. Who would not want to sit at a big huge campfire at night with the all time greats of Bass Fishing and just listen?!!!!!! Wow that is something that really needs to happen in the near future. What an event and experience that would be!!!!!!! I can totally see it now. We can turn it into a yearly event. Food, bbq, drinks, fires, and storytelling. Tell me I’m wrong. And like James Earl Jones says in Field of Dreams, “People Will Come!”😊🙏🙏🎉🎉👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻😉😉

So good! I’m the opposite of you-grew up in Florida and moved to Maryland as an adult. I guess I have Nader and Johnson to thank because I was very pleasantly surprised by the bass fishing up here!

Enjoyed your story. I’m from Charles County Maryland and fished the Potomac many years. I’ve retired and living in Greensboro suburb of North Carolina now and don’t know where to fish down here. I miss the Potomac and the tides.

Love your stories. You are also a great inspiration to people in my age group, 76. It’s great to see you operating your boats, even an Airdrive and even useing a Castnet in your boat. Keep up the great videos, thanks.

Roland! My pops and I have been a fan of you since forever! As Virginia boys, always loved the fact you grew up in MD and fished the Potomac and other big river watersheds! It was a pleasure meeting you at the bass master on the James River in 89/90. I was just a thigh high kiddo but you made time to say hi and chat with my pops and I. It was awesome. I’ll never forget it!

Wow, I heard you mention the Chiciwicomico and Transquaking, Blackwater loved those rivers. They aren't the same any more. In the early 70s they were incredible.

Love your KZbin videos Roland. Been watching you for lots of years. Was wondering if you keep up with Bobby Bare. I loved your fishing shows back in the day when Bobby did your theme song. I still love his music. Would be nice to see you fish with him some day.

Yes, the Potomac River was so polluted that it used to catch on fire. Roland, did you ever come up river towards Hagerstown and fish for the smallmouth in the Potomac?
