@@TakeOffV05 The bite here in south PA seems to be very minimal right now. I've fished every day this week and only caught a single 11 lb common. I've been switching between tiger nuts and fake corn. The one I got was on tiger nuts.

Southern Indiana here. I've caught a few in November, December. Last year started March 1st and had an awesome fishing season all the way to November. Started mid February this year and this fishing season was nothing compared to last year!!!

I've been carp fishing about 20yrs, 12 months a year. Best advice I could give is cut down on freebies, just use smaller single colorful hookbait, ie 10mm orange/pink/yellow popups. Target shallow areas from sunrise to early afternoon as the shallow areas & surface will warm up quicker. Use zig rigs just under the surface, as the carp rise to warm up your bait is in the same layers/depth as the fish. Use the wind, one bank of a lake is usually warmer than the other. Sure the fish slow down but they still feed just in shorter periods of the day.

Yeah I always noticed that shallow areas heat up faster in fall/winter and it’s where the fish hang out. If it’s the side that is a shallow bay you can really lay into them. I’m in California though so we don’t have to worry about freezing temps.

@@nicod686 I'm in UK..Day temps are between 10 - 13°C at the minute. Have caught carp to 0°C though, I do 48/72hr trips and regularly wake up with frozen reels/lines in winter, lately I've seen the carp hanging around reeds/lilys rather than open water as they were last month..If the going gets really tough or lakes freeze I fish rivers for Chub, Pike, Perch on a lure/feeder setup.

Skunked it up the last few days here in NJ. We’ve had cold temperatures 30s at 3 am to about 55 during day. Then for a few days it’ll be 45 at 3 am and 78 by noon. Then back to cool temps a few days then back to warm etc. These fish don’t know what to do and they have me confused. I’m simple…. Corn on a Carolina rig and packbait around the egg sinker. I found sweet corn flavor to be best as I did well last week. BUT it’s tough. I have never carp fished through Halloween before. Tight lines and good video 🤙🏼

Excellent stuff! Couldn't help but notice the Arkansas reference! We are around mid to low 60's on water temps here. My main problem this time of year is time constraints and figuring out where to fish. Tight lines and wet nets, Tom!

Good day on the warter tom ! I agree with you on the time of day for the best action . I have also found that the fish seem to feed heavy with a north west wind. And a south east wind is dead. Have you noticed this during your fishing ?

I suppose it depends which shoreline you're standing on. In my experience, the windblown shoreline tends to be better regardless of the wind direction. Easterly winds in my area typically happen post cold front. Cold fronts usually result in below average fishing for a couple days after. So, I don't think easterly winds cause poor fishing, but the weather that caused the easterly winds caused the poor fishing. That's my theory. Thanks for watching!

This year I am going to fish until my lines freeze up. I am usually done carp and catfishing in the middle of July because it gets so weedy but this year we had so much rain that the weeds never got too bad so I just kept fishing. It was in the high thirties last night but no wind

Fishing the hair rig: one is relying on the hook to get caught in the mouth of the fish. The sharper the hook the better the chances!

I was out last night catfishing with a zillion layers on. I got one catfish and the second one I unclipped my rod from the rope I tie it with and took it off the bait clicker and put my foot on the handle. I then reeled in the other rod to get it out of the way I took my foot off the other rod for some reason and watched it go into the water and zoom away. So a catfish probably will die because I had it hooked with a circle hook and fifty pound braid. I ended up ordering a new rod and reel which costed me like $225 for both of them not counting the line Then I found someone's credit card laying on the ground. Called the company up since the name wasn't for a person in my town and they told me to just cut the card and dump it in two dumpsters please
