Amazing shots man, you continue to inspire me to be a better photographer. Thanks for being an inspiration.

Thanks so much! Really appreciate that and keep up the photography 🙏

I like that you put your favorite lenses into perspective of your favorite shots. Especially that you show different styles and create (without being that pushy) a nice overview for potential new buys. Keep going, have a wonderful christmas time and a good start into the new year!

Thanks so much for that, its a really interesting exercise to try out 🙂 Happy holidays and all the best for 2025 as well 🙏

Your photos are next level. I can see most of your photos have a nice soft glow about them. Do you add this glow in editing or from using a black mist filter on your lenses. Thanks for inspiring me to do better in my own photography and keep up the great work!
@TKNORTHАй бұрын
Thanks so much for that! I actually have a pretty recent video on this exact topic that explains in more detail - but short answer its usually a bit of both 😊 explain my editing process and which filters I use if you're interested!

Haven't finished the video, but I guess your favorite lens is 50mm f1.2. Let's see if i'm right.

@@TKNORTH haha, what's your opinion of 35mm? Specifically comparing to 50mm for street.
@TKNORTHАй бұрын
Good guess haha I think 35 is great. Anything between that 28-50mm range can be pretty versatile - but honestly whatever you're most comfortable on is the most important thing to me.

Beautiful pictures. May I ask what city the image was taken in at 4:30? It has a Japanese feel but the sign is Chinese characters.

Ciao! congrats for your pictures! I follow you often and with great pleasure. I just wanted to let you know that I’ve purchased the RF 135mm f/1.8 lens, and I can tell you it’s of the same quality as the 50mm you own and use frequently. It might even surpass the quality of the 70-200mm. I highly recommend you try it.

Great photos (as always) and insights. Your work is always inspiring. I'm excited for your Vietnam trip! I'll also be going some time next year and I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll shoot. Edit: BTW, what do you use to print your photos? I'm currently only using my home printer but it has this problem with the black ink smearing.
@TKNORTHАй бұрын
Thanks so much 😊 I can't wait, its quite a short trip but I hope to still take lots of photos! I look forward to sharing it! For these prints I just used a small Canon printer - the SELPHY CP1500. It depends what you're looking for, as its more of a small, fun, quick/easy postcard size printer - so not great for more professional usage. But for what it is and its price, its a nice little printer!
@regrr1774Ай бұрын
@@TKNORTH Thank you! That's all I really want to print - postcards for memories. It's a lot easier (and more fun) to pass around during family (and other social) gatherings. A whole lot better than flicking through a phone or tablet. I'll look into that printer.

Very Useful Video!Thank you! was wondering what was your Japan trip lens? if you can own pick 2 lens ti travel what would that be? is it bother you when u have to change the lens during street photography? :D
@TKNORTHАй бұрын
Thanks so much for checking it out! Probably no surprise but it would be the two lenses I used most in this video, the 24mm and 50mm. I like just this combo. I'm happy to change lenses though, usually have my sling bag which makes it quite easy to make a quick change! Once I swap I usually keep that lens on for a little while though, so I won't be changing super frequently.

Interesting video. Do you have issues with the 85mm when focusing in video mode? Thank you.
@TKNORTHАй бұрын
Thanks for that! Sadly I have, its the only downside I've had on this lens. The barrel seems to occasionally get stuck trying to focus. It's quite rare but it has happened a few times. Is this the same issue you've had?
@GuillaumesphotographyАй бұрын
@ I was considering buying this lens but I hear that it isn’t good for video because of the focusing issue. I guess I will pass it.
@AsdaasshhhАй бұрын
Why did you end up picking canon, specifically the r5 vs the others? Many say full frames are a pain to carry around for travel and daily photography and swear by Fuji film or retro styled bodies.
@TKNORTHАй бұрын
Interesting question! It's a bit more than just a daily photo camera for me though. I use it for a lot of video including client work and all my KZbin vids too. Theres only a few cameras out there across all brands that cover what the R5 does for both photo and video. It slightly favours photo but it still gives cine-like performance for video. So this really suits me currently. An R5 with 3 primes, I can easily carry all day in my sling bag - sure its slightly larger/heavier than some setups, but covers way more bases and conditions for my usage. I used to travel with my fuji, but I always still travelled with another camera for video - so it kind of defeats the purpose, end up carrying much more gear in general. Photography only, it's a bit different. I loved my xpro3 in many ways, it looks great and I mostly enjoy the photo experience, but its slow in many ways. It almost provides an analogue experience. Nice sometimes, but also means its just too slow in some situations. I never picked it up once for a professional job for this reason.

@ Right on! Really appreciate the insight. Love your style, very inspiring. Aloha 🤙

how much time do you spend taking these photos?
@TKNORTHАй бұрын
quite a lot of time! Especially shooting street photography, I can often walk around most of the day and night. I forgot to tally up how many of these photos were time-lapses though - it skews the number of photos I've taken by quite a lot, I process these all in Lightroom as well.

Nice video thanks! Please watch a few video about scams in Vietnam. I felt myself for the taxi scam at the airport at 2am... Even though I knew about it, and people warned me about it.
