Excellent advice for learning anything. I used to teach computer programming and I'd tell students you have to mess with it experiment and change things and see what happens. Same with music you learn a concept the time to mess with it and hear what happens when you change things. Adults are the ones that want a rule for everything or don't do anything they haven't been taught to do, but kids automatically just go for it and aren't afraid of making mistakes. Kids if they don't know how to do something will keep trying over and over until they figure it out. Adults don't realize all those retries are an important part of the learning process. Just Do It!

Perfectly said man! 💯 I feel the rules take you further after you’ve experimented and lock it in the hands first! We need that kid like mentality when learning!

We have somewhat similar stories with regards to discovery and experimentation. I would also (still do) expand on mew concepts by seeing where they end up through exploration. This is especially true for augmented and seventh chords. Great vid D.

Sir, I just found out your channel and it's helping me a lot! Thank you for your videos. I have one question, what is the best synther for 1000$ budget? I want as much different sounds as possible.
