I grew up wade fishing a creek that runs out of the mountains a few miles upstream loaded with spotted bass and a regionally local strain of bass. I learned from a young age, slow down and present them with something natural. That’s how I catch some 4-6 pound spotted bass every year out of this 10-30 foot wide crystal clear creek every year. Slow and steady wins the race of attrition almost every time

Ha, im the opposite. I feel i fish way to slow most of the time.

This is by far my biggest problem. I watch enough KZbin videos to know what i should be doing but i know i fish to fast. I really feel most of my fish are just very active. Ive probably moved my bait away from so many fish because I didnt leave it in the strike zone long enough for them to even get it

When I feel the need to slow myself down I pull out my old 2500c reel on my old pistol grip rod, take a deep breath and get back to basics.

I probably need to speed up just because I am so use to catfishing so I am not use to casting and reeling back in. Great information thank you

Slowing down is torture. But a T rig is one of my confidence baits but that is way down on the list, but still way above a drop shot and a ned rig.

I think this has been my problem the last couple tournaments, I’m fishing way too fast. It’s super hard, but thanks for the info Tyler. I’ll try and be more intentional on fishing slow went the “fast” isn’t working.

I hate finesse fishing. Even when I'm doing it I know I'm going too fast.

I’m the exact opposite. I fish too slow. I have to tell myself to speed up.

Haven’t finished the video yet but this is actually my biggest strength i love finnesse techniques i recently caught my first fish on a drop-shot and i truly believe that slowing down is one of the best things you can make a habit of

I struggle with it as well. Even when I throw a Texas rig or a jig purposefully trying to slow down I usually wind up power fishing my jig lol

Nailed on the head. I fish snakeheads and they prefer frogs on long pauses. I had to learn to slow it down from frog fishing for bass where you usually walk them fast.
