Great video as usual. Please if you can have a video about the "EHX Tri Parallel Mixer" and possibly compare it with The GigRig Wetter Box. Wetter Box is one of the main tools on my board and I use it in many different ways for mainly recording in the studio; but I like to see how you use your parallel mixer. The only thing that I like about Wetter Box better than almost all other parallel mixers is its possibility to Blend the signal instead of Mixing between (it has both the Mix/Blend options though) different separated parallel signals. Mixing (signals on top of each other) naturally introduces more levels as well with different levels of gain for each loop, and also has a different feel to the final signal. ... But Blend simply blends between two signals, let's say between the dry signal on one side and a fully wet chorus side on the other, it simply crossfades between the two for the desired levels. But Blend does not introduces more gain to the signal nor to my ears it changes the sounds of split signals too much. Because to my experience all parallel mixers in the market change the dry signal a little bit I guess because of their buffers. But Wetter Box was the most transparent to my experience and the only unit with the Blend option. Cheers!

Sure thing mate! I can do a video on the EHX but I doubt I'll be able to get my hands on a Wetter Box any time soon. Stay tuned

Hey Jackson! Have you considered putting both sides of the protein through through the Gigrig so you can switch either side independently? I was considering getting on but I didn't think you could run it through a switcher to go between both sides. Just looked on the website and it says this... I'm deffo going to get one now. To use with a loop switcher like the RJM Mastermind ect. The TRS plug on the input is going to act as the loop for the green side. The TRS plug on the output is going to act as the loop for the blue side. Tip is the input/send from your Loop Ring is the output/return to your Loop.

I have considered it and tried it out while I was preparing for the build, but found this worked for me just fine and allowed me to put another pedal in a loop under the board.

Hey Jackson, Me and my friend are thinking of making some guitars together pretty soon. Our favourite is to try and make a hybrid between a telecaster and a les paul junior. But since neither of us have a les paul junior or a very good telecaster I was wondering of you could give any tips or recommendations. Great pedal board btw!
@JacksonBrooksby3 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a cool project! Two of my favourite guitars. Difficult to combine the two as they are both known for the bridge pickup tone in my opinion. And you can't have both! I'm sure you'll figure it out though. Maybe check out the Bunting Guitars Alice for inspiration

I'm baffled that you overspent on the tuner just to get the Waza Craft version. If every other choice is debatable and a matter of taste, you could have picked up the regular BOSS TU-3 for half the price. Does a made in Japan tuner work better than the same model that's made in Taiwan? Also, an identical copy of the pedal is the Behringer TU300. Costs 6 times less than the TU-3W and gets the job done unless you stomp it hard.

Some great pedal choices there, Jackson. Now you’ve built it is there anything you think you’ve had done differently? Great to see the odyssey feature on there! Did / have you tried the spruce in front of the QMX6?I always played my sunface in front as to me, it just sounded better. It would mean having it on top, but may be worth checking out how different the tone sounds
@JacksonBrooksby3 жыл бұрын
I tried the Spruce before the QMX and couldn't hear any difference and this layout works better for me moving forward. I'm not sure what I'd do differently to be honest! I think I'm still in the honey-moon period with it. There's one or two cables that could be an inch or two longer 😂

Yes, do a vid on the Tri Parallel Mixer, please. There's so many things we can do with parallel mixers; I left a comment in That Pedal Show they could do multiple shows on parallel mixers, since you can also mix in modulation, drives or loopers. Okay, technically the Mood is a looper, kind of, so you can already show that.
@JacksonBrooksby3 жыл бұрын
I will get to work on it!

@@JacksonBrooksbythe EH tri parallel mixer was a favorite of mine as well, brilliant features. Unfortunately there is a common qlitch where it fails to recall your switch positions, and all loops default to ON when powered up. You cannot switch the loops off - you must unplug power and do the factory reset with each use. Ridiculous really. You'll find others frustrated with this issue on the Electro Harmonix forum. Perhaps the issue has been addressed in some way, and/or you got a good one. Fwiw i ended up with a Musicomlab Parallelizer instead (it has excellent buffers) but it cost $289 and it doesn't have EQ, let alone +/- send&return controls, but it does what it's supposed to do.

Well its 2 custom boards i made so they clamshell into a carry case and unfold into 2 seperate boards. Flame maple too! I like pedals because im older and hardware still seems to react better but i cant afford 43 amps so i go with pedal tones. I run them into 2 boss katana 100 artist and a gt1000core unit. Gives me almost anything.
