Thanks for being real. As a parent I felt you when you said “that’s not the kind of parent I want to be”. Some days are just like that and sometimes I tell my kids some variation of “so sorry I was grumpy with you or had a tough day.” Luckily, they are so sweet, even as preteens, to understand and even sometimes mid grump, give me a hug, which resets me. Showing our kids that parents aren’t perfect is ok.

I had a much needed lazy day earlier this week. I did the basics as a parent and but spent just about the entire day on the couch and on my phone. At dinner time we talked about our day and I said I didn’t think I was a great mom today and told hubs what I did. Our daughter (4 yrs) came around and gave me the biggest hug and kiss. Dad asked her if I was a good mommy today and she said yeah! Duh!!! I share this because it reminds us to take slow days as parents and that clearly you’re doing a great job because your kids understand when you have slower days and aren’t always doing the maximum stuff each and every day

For black tea: you make it a higher temperature and let it sit for 3-5 minutes usually. While green tea is a lower temp (no way near boiling) for 1-2 minutes! I used to be a brand manager for a tea brand a few years ago and learned all of this back then! :)

The honesty is so refreshing. Being a mom of two has been a lot more stressful than when it was just my daughter. I hate the days when I’m snippy with my kids and my husband. Then I get mad when my husband is cranky. Ugh. Thankfully most days are not that way. But no one is perfect!

Multiple kiddos, especially littles, is so so hard. We have three 7 and under. Some days it feels like we’re failing and some days we don’t really like each other. Warning: This is going to be the LONGEST comment EVER! First, I ABSOLUTELY ❤d this vlog❣️ Your honesty really makes connecting to you so easy. Also, DANG girl! Dat booty in your flared leggings though! OK, moving on... one of the things which helped me tremendously was learning that just because I have a feeling, it doesn't mean I have to act on it. Controlling your own behavior is a skill. First, you need to practice recognizing undesirable behavior when it first arises. Then, ask yourself, how can I make this moment better? This will take practice, and the more you do it, the more natural it will become. And always remember, you ARE only human. Learning to forgive ourselves is one of the hardest things for us to do if you're the kind of person with an enormous guilt complex. You're constantly growing. The great thing is, your girls will learn as you learn. I think most of us are familiar with "Children Learn What They Live." And finally, I recently bought a titanium cutting board from Amazon, and it is so thin, lightweight, easy to clean, I ❤ it! Black tea can generally be steeped longer yes! Personally I do 1-2 mins for green tea, and 4-5 mins for black tea. I like black tea fairly strong though, my mom only does 3-4 mins for it.

(Because that's what I care about) and if I feel like I miss something or just wanna something comforting, I go to the page of the person I'm subscribed too. That's why I'm like never on Instagram. Nobody has it all together. Everybody has those parenting days. Yes days. We’re all human. And they will continue to happen every once in awhile…and that’s OK! The good news is they aren’t permanent, it’s truly just a moment in time when you look back on it. And I think it’s good for our kids to see that we are just people too. Rooibos is great for a tea that doesn’t get bitter the longer you brew. Green and black tea will get bitter, so if you want it stronger you need to use more tea. My favorite is usually around the 4 minute mark if I use 200°(F) water. Green tea is lovely brewed at a lower temp as well, so if you’re using an herbal, white, or green, play with water temps and brew times to find your ideal flavor ❤

Bake your egg bites in bell peppers! Been doing it for a couple years now. Hardly any mess in the backing dish plus you get the added bonus of a full serving of a vegetable! 425F for about 30 minutes. And they freeze fine, just gets a little watery when you reheat, easy to drain.

Jess, I love your videos. It really is like hanging out/catching up with a pal. I got those exact same earrings in a set (House of Harlow brand) from Marshalls or TJMaxx a couple of months ago! I swear, they are exactly the same, down to the earring backs. And -- good news! -- they have become my lucky earrings! Three times now, I have lucked out while wearing them (okay, the first time was just happenstance, the second and third times I wore them on purpose in hopes they would pull through for me and they did). Yay, going to do Vlogmas! I’m so happy about that, it has become something I look forward to for the Christmas season! 🎄 Those bookends are adorable, love them! I remember those hard parenting/ family days, they can be A Lot. Just start over the next day, take A deep breath and keep going forward. It is very normal to have those days, mixing four or more people’s lives on A constant basis is going to always be challenging, big party events, social requirements, people people people 😧 can be daunting, take days off and just relax. Everyone wear pj’s, eat something yummy, snuggle with A tv show, and just take A break. Don’t let it get to you 🩷 ( advice from A older Mom/Grandmom) . Well you inspired me to start getting ready for Christmas, leaving up Thanksgiving decor too, will have both until after Thanksgiving then just Christmas 🎄. Well, as always I enjoyed hanging out, looking forward to next time. Ta Ta for now 💕
