Hi Will If you pull out your lights from the ceiling and find which 2 lights the broken cable is between. Or use the multimeter to find where power is and isn’t to your lights then if you get a mouse wire set. It’s for pushing or pulling cables through cavities etc. They are only about £5 for the set. It means you won’t need to remove any of cladding. Just feed another cable between the 2 lights and reconnect. If you’re not sure message me and I’m happy to talk you through it on the phone. I’m an electrician and an engineer also on my third van build so it’s professional advice.

I would take the cladding down on that section. I would also think about putting all the wires in more plastic covering/trunking and running it down the side panels of the van and not the roof. You’ve got to do your roof build yet, so move all them wires down one side of the van, this in turn will make it easier for you to access it later on to fix issues.

Hopefully you have enough slack wire to pull each side through the hole and join the wires back, even if the wires weren't near drill zone, the twisted wool could have dragged them into the vortex, try and drill the second part of the big hole from the inside if you need the same size hole all the way through, as it looks neater than if your hole is drilled all the way through from top, I always thought you lived in London, but that looks more like the country, I guess your folks home as you know where everything is and have free roam of sheds and pets know you well

I run my cables (wiring) through plastic wireloom tubing and leave as much slack as possible in case I ever need to pull new wire, add a box or accessory, or (god forbid) accidentally drill or run a screw through them. It happens quite often & you're not the only one who has ever done this. Here in the States we call it "Murphy's Law", meaning that "anything that can go wrong will go wrong", and no matter where you drill there's most likely going to be a wire, hose, or some other important part behind it.

Gently push them to the side so they're still accessible, finish that hole for your antenna and as others have said, splice them. Make sure the splice isn't too tight and in the way of your cables though. Extend it if need be so there's slack and push them out of the way.
@IMP3TIGO3 жыл бұрын
Sorry to see man, it totally sucks. You will of course have to remove some of the ceiling wood planks unless the wires have a lot of slack and you can pull it out of the hole to splice together, which is doubtful. Always something comes up with big projects. Don't let it get you down too much, onwards to the next project and video. At least it made for a good video and is always good experience.
