Nice tutorial. You can then turn on bidirectional dshot and rpm filtering in betaflight as well.

Thanks for the tip. I’m running on emuflight on most of my builds, but I’ll keep it in mind next time if I flash betaflight ✌️

Haha, thanks for all the kind words - happy you like Bluejay. Surprised to hear that you gain more flight time on your bigger quads though. But yeah - stay tuned, there are some more performance improvements in the pipeline ;-)

More improvements? No way! It’s already so good! Thanks to you and your team for the work, I’m all in, running an almost full fleet of bluejays 2.5 to 7 inch!

0.16 was the best version? I think that’s what Ciotti was sayin’

Totally agree. If you're running BLHeli_s, make the switch. Longer flight times [I got almost 30% more on my units] and cooler motors - just like they promise. The installation is as simple as it gets; follow this tutorial and you're good to go. Can't say this enough: make the switch!

Can you help explain the motor direction? When you convert from blheli_s to bluejay did you keep them the same? I don’t understand your 1 motor saying reversed and the rest “normal” Thank you!!
@TanFK2 жыл бұрын
Hey yes I configure my motor direction in blheli manually but that method is outdated. These days you can just set them all to normal, and use the betaflight 4.3 motor direction wizard, Here’s a handy guide I found for ya kzbin.info/www/bejne/qXWqkn58e7hof9k

So I just got a 1s quad that has a 4 in 1 BLHeli-s esc, and I fallowed this setup exactly just to try it out. While it worked fine with the default firmware, with Bluejay the motors won't spin at all, they just twitch a bit when you try to arm and I don't think I did anything wrong, going back to the normal firmware they work again as well so is there anything obvious I need to change/should check? I messed around in the motor tab in betalight as well and you couldn't even spin the motors with the sliders, it was clearly trying, but they wouldn't spin. Also currently the quad is flying fine on the normal firmware so I know I didn't do any damage.

I’d recommend trying some other options 1. flashing bluejay at 96khz. 2. Trying the different dshot protocols in betaflight, for example if your esc manual says dshot 600, you could safely try 300 or 150

Just increase min/max startup power in the esc-configurator, that should fix it in the most times. If not you can increase min throttle in Betaflight.
