wheel that badly bent i wouldn't be surprised if they recommend full replacement
@YooJin71711 сағат бұрын
Was about to say the same thing. Might be a replacement versus repair
@Ryan_MooneyКүн бұрын
I would replace both wheels and tires. The integrity of both may be gone and it’s not worth the risk of them going out at high speed to save a few (a lot of) bucks, especially with you traveling with your family.
@Ryan-rp1esКүн бұрын
Unfortunately it’s recommended to change driver and passenger tires. Different tread depths will destroy the transfer case. If it was just one front you could get away with only changing a both fronts, but in this case all 4 should be changed.

Damn, that sucks.... Had a similar situation with lowered M3 F80 in Colorado mountains,I tried to avoid a huge rock keeping it in between the wheels. FInal result was bent gearbox radiator, aluminum reinforcement damaged, exhaust pipes dented and as a result one of the turbos got split in half. Big money repair, luckily covered by insurance. In your case I would 100% file a claim, both wheels are bent, and trust me from wheel repair experience you don't want to straighten forged wheels. Get your insurance to replace both wheels, tires and inspect front brake disc very carefully, I wonder how that scratch on the inside of the wheel appeared other than from contact with a disc.

This is the problem with low profile tires. We usually would not prefer to take a long trip in a vehicle without a full size spare as well.

Dang Man! Man ...that was a Hard Hit on that broken piece of concreate in the roadway. It reminds me of the time I hit a Tire Buster pothole on I-495 near Andrews AFB with my 2013 550 M Sport. There was a LOUD ((((BANG)))) and the TPMS lit up on impact. Luckily the wheel had no damage, and I was able to drive home on the Run-Flat. As for your incident, I'd still have the dealer look at the suspension just to be safe...as that piece of concrete really 'rocked' your car. No pun intended. Good luck with everything getting repaired.

I hit a massive pothole following my buddy too closely in Hoboken Nj last year. Got a bent rim and instantly popped the tire. My rim looked a bit less bent than urs but it wasn't repariable. Def a bill to swallow, and now I keep my distance far and keep my eye not only up front but also on the road. These new jersey roads you just never know man.

Drove by that same spot a about a month ago when the forest fires were happening. There was a fire in the north bound lane right when I drove past! We can't have nice things around here. Crap roads. Sorry that happened to you

Just drove from Austin to Tucson for the holidays and I ran over a decent sized rock on I-10 in the middle of nowhere. I was sweating it out for a good 10 miles but no damage to my F82. 😓 It will be supper interesting to see if your 2 wheels can fixed. 👍

Mannn that sucks. Had the same thing happen to me the day after I took delivery of my new car, not from a rock, but from a random part that fell off a Hyundai Elantra that was driving in front of me. @@TommyLGarage I always have difficulty justifying paying for that in advance. Additionally, since I switch to my winter wheel and tire setup, the OEM setup is not on the car for at least three months each year. Given how much we all pay in taxes, it shouldn't be too much to expect that they take care of our roadways properly.

I can't believe you guys don't have smart motorways there, if this was in UK, that lane would have been put to 40 mph speed limit from miles away and them close this lane completely using digital signage above before police arrives.

Your first shot of the rear wheel shows the lip bent. I had this happen to my f80 comp wheel (front). I took it to a popular place in westchester (you’ll find it on Google). They fixed it and I kept the tire. There is still a slight vibration on my wheel at high speeds. My winter setup does the same so possibly some suspension component is slightly off or both sets need rebalancing idk. These kinds of things suck because all you will do if you feel vibrations afterwards is throw money at replacing parts until it’s fixed.

@ yeah mine was pretty bad. I hit a rock that looked to be about the same size as the one you hit, but my comp wheel had a dent in it the size of a softball so that was not fixable. Unfortunately, I had to replace the whole wheel nothing else broke, though the car held out pretty well, and I hit the rock so hard that it cleared my rear tire went over the rock doesn’t like being slightly airborne in your M4

I dobt understand why You wouldnt go to bmw dealership. If You have insurance thats the point of it. Also it covers towing so You care about nothing. And dealership would check if any other stuff is broken (wires, suspension etc). Its very reckless of You not to veryify this. Breaking fluid wires are easy to be damaged with this huge impact.
