Couldn't help but get excited seeing all those comic books. Keep going with that Monster one. Its a very complex plot twisty thriller. I'd recommend Kaiji and Historie for more. Not too depressingly dark or lighthearted. Keep up with the videos! Brings a smile to my face every time a new one is uploaded :)

There is a good comic book app called "man hua ren (漫画人)” that you may like. It has a big library of most popular Japanese and some Korean and Hongkong comic books. All in Chinese and well categorized. I love it but I also enjoy reading the paper book. Different feelings.

This is how I learned Japanese actually ! Comic books are usually easier and more relaxing, and it seems we have the same taste of the Japanese comics. I prefer more realistic figures and grown up stories, too. Not a fan of Kawaii lol!

Szia. Nagyon tetszenek a videók! :) Én magyar vagyok, Magyarországról. Bécsben tanulok szlavisztikát horvát-szerb nyelvvel, de szívesen tanulnék szlovákul is. Szlovákia nagyon szép ország. Tudok segíteni a magyarban vagy a horvátban/szerbben. Slovensko je mala-vel'ka kraska krajina. :)

Thanks for the interesting video! I am struggling to find material for B1-B2 Chinese that is really engaging, so this is super helpful. Do you have any advise for Russian of a similar level (B1-B2) eg, interesting podcasts or novels? Thanks for the great content.
@VladimirSkultetyOfficial5 жыл бұрын
Hi Matt. I can't think of anything B1-B2 level Russian, but I like to watch videos by Kase Gasanov and Dmitri Shamov. You can try to look them up on youtube if you like.

Oh My God! I just watched your video of you speaking 19 languages. I've been studying Hungarian for 10 years and you speak it perfectly!! WOW, this is amazing. I've met very few people at this level who weren't born in Hungary. How did you pull this off sir?

I was going to ask you Vladimir- Do you read alot each day? Also, can most people from Slovakia speak English?
@VladimirSkultetyOfficial8 жыл бұрын
Noah Anderson Hello. Not now, but I have phases where I read a lot. I think most if not all all educated young people speak English at least at a level to be able to hold a reasonable conversation, older generations might not though.

Thanks! Do you have fun plans tonight? Or this weekend? I'm a huge fan of your vlog! PS: Do you live in Slovakia right now? Do you use Slovak more than English?
@VladimirSkultetyOfficial8 жыл бұрын
Noah Anderson Thank you:) Actually I just have some stuff I have to work on. I'll be staying home. I live in Slovakia right now. It probably depends on the day, but I would say I use English more.

I'm working with an illustrator to produce my first kids picture book. I'm thinking to have it translated in Mandarin (and many other languages). Do you think that's a good idea? I've read that over 900 milion people speak this language so I figure it might sell well.

Oh My God! You're amazing with languages! So, you can hold a conversation in English, Slovak, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, and Bulgarian. Is this true? What are your 4 best languages?
@VladimirSkultetyOfficial8 жыл бұрын
+Joseph Jasper Hello. I don't speak Bulgarian. I should be able to hold a conversation in 14 languages, my best languages would be Slovak, Czech, English and German/Italian.

I just watched your video in New York. I thought the part about your Hungarian nanny was interesting. Do you still talk her? How's your level of Hungarian?
@VladimirSkultetyOfficial8 жыл бұрын
Joseph Jasper Hello. I didn't talk to the nanny since then I think. Must've been more than 25 years. I speak Hungarian almost every day nowadays.
@josephjasper33248 жыл бұрын
I've read your comments about you speak many languages on a daily basis. How do you manage this? I mean, how do you incorporate English, Russian, Italian/German, Chinese, etc into your life? Love to hear about this PS: Aren't you curious about where the nanny is? Do you still remember her name?
@VladimirSkultetyOfficial8 жыл бұрын
Joseph Jasper Maybe I will make a video about that. I try to combine things. Whatever I need for work or fun, if there is a chance, I just do it in a foreign language. I talk a lot to my foreign friends. But it has to be without stress. I don't force myself into anything and don't have a schedule or say 'I have to listen to 30 minutes of Chinese every day', because I never keep up. The nanny was about 70 or 80 at that time, so I'm afraid she passed away a long time ago.

the majority of books in chinese are in simplefied or traditional? and which one worth learning?
@VladimirSkultetyOfficial7 жыл бұрын
Contemporary books: In Mainland China in Simplified, in Taiwan and Hong Kong in Traditional. Historical books... I'm not sure, but I would guess probably in Traditional everywhere. If you go to Mainland, learn Simplified, if you go to Taiwan or are learning Cantonese, learn Traditional.
