They were designed for SCA fencing, grip and flexibility is why most people like them for that, met them at Pennsic really great people that will taylor anything you buy to fit you perfectly.

I did not know that. Thanks. I like them for the grip and flexibility as well. The stiffer boots I had didn't allow much mobility.
