20:24, For those who dont know, if another company or person holds the patten for a Product your making, you either need their permission to make it, or give them a "Reasonable" cut of the profits. If you make it without doing so then they can sue you for a Unreasonable cut of the profits you have made.

I think it's illegal to fire an employee then use their intellectual work, while one could argue that the company owns the product and designs, it would get them into legal trouble to fire the designer right before launching their product. Otherwise a bunch of the companies would do it, and few people would design products or innovations.

@@crimsonmaelstrom573 That's not exactly true. Since Keiichi was using a company computer to develop a new prototype portable on company time, they own it. If he developed the prototype strictly on his own at home, didn't source ANY components from the company, and, can prove it, then he owns it. But, with schematics for his unfinished prototype on a company computer, here in the U.S. he would be screwed. And, it's not illegal to fire an employee and use their work, as long as the parent company can prove the termination was justified. Lots of designers and engineers get fired right before the launch of a new product. Mostly because they forget that they work for the company and shoot their mouths off to upper management about getting credit for a new design. And anything they design on company time using company equipment and company resources belongs to the company. A good company will give you credit for the design, a raise, and possibly a bonus. But, they don't have to. Do you honestly think that the technician at Intel or AMD or any other company that has that leap of intuition that results in a whole new processor, or maybe a newer, better manufacturing process actually owns that? As long as they are a salaried employee, NOT A CHANCE!

Eh depends on a lot of things. Sometimes if you sign the right paperwork whatever you make while working for them is thier property. So it really depends on the paperwork that he filled out when working with them and lawyers that they got. If I remember correctly that happened with gen 4 MLP and monster high.

You know, even idiots who simply plagiarize someone else's design would usually have tested the product before release, if only to maintain the facade of quality checks being done, especially to the shareholders who want to confirm that it works. The fact that the ex-chief just pulled the designs from MC's old computer, and then didn't even bother sending it through _ANY_ kind of QA testing, and just straight threw the product into the market, means that he had to have pulled a LOT of strings to dump the product into the market with the only "QA" being "Trust me, bro". I don't even know WHERE to begin with listing the amount of offenses he's committed, but "Commercial Fraud" and "Copyright Infringement" are definitely somewhere on that list. Along with the apparently mountainous Class-Action lawsuit he's going to be subjected to means he's definitely screwed for the rest of his life.

That's what Fuji gets for trying to destroy Keiichi Sato by putting all the blame on him and looking down on him for not graduating in college and belittle his prototypes think like it's a child's play. He even stole Keiichi's Idea from his pc which is disapproved that leads to a lot of complaints to a lot of customers. And it's hilarious that he wanted him back so he can put all the blame to him again and wanted a promotion. How selfish! At least the Former CEO is at least sensible to scold Fuji when the truth came out and now Fuji is jobless and he's been all over the news. He became a laughing stock and couldn't find a job. Serves him right! Thanks to Nagisa's help by telling him to join the company she works at. His ideas and efforts are being recognized by them and the products that he made became successful and he ends up with Nagisa becoming a couple.

@@foodmr2022 That was a grave mistake, and the CEO actually reasonably put the blame on Fuji. He had no idea on what Fuji did until Keiichi revealed it, and putting the blame on Fuji is actually a good choice. Not only is it making him take responsibility, but also to show honesty because in the story, he was definitely abusing power. He also came to apologize to Keiichi as well, so no blame could be put on the CEO as he was a reasonable one.

He's already suing Fuji for that after giving his former employer the hint that Fuji better take the blame he deserves if the CEO wants to salvage his company's reputation. That CEO helped Sato get his payback against Fuji in particular at the end, so that's probably why he considers the accounts between him and his former employer company to be settled already. Sato would probably rather spend his time off work dating Nagisa, (since she wants him to) instead of spending any more time as the accuser in court when he no longer has a need to. The latter's needlessly time consuming, so why bother?

Fate of Mr Fuji: This guy is an idiot, he tried to get a job at the MC's company and tried to use force to hire him. He was playing a tough facade but when the MC refused he tried to attack and got beaten up as a result. He got beaten by one of the employees present and security then he was berated and lectured. That employee called him a washed up old man and compared him to the MC and how Mr Fuji bases everything on a piece of paper. Mr fuji kept putting his foot in his mouth and demanded to be hired and want high salary and high position and once again threaten him but got beaten up even more and eventually thrown out. He threw a tantrum outside and could not admit to his fault and people were filming him. He became a laughing stock and people made fun of him. He started working part time at a gas station to pay of the infringement debts and now when people look at him they laugh. He is a joke. One time he saw the couple and acted like he does not know them as he is too ashamed to approach them. He just rang their stuff and they left. One time he was haunted by the ghost of the real Mr Fuji and the ghost told him to change his name and threw powder at him and told him that it would be worst if he does not change his name. Fuji himself was not scared but the ghost of Yokozuna came in and gave him a banzi drop and that scared him like crap and it hurts. The bed broke because of that.

Fuji got off too easy. Quit job rather han a disciplinary termination for power harassment, stealing credit for what others have done, patent infringement, ... big debt for patent infringement ... The only "good" thing is what he did was all over the news, preventing him from finding another job in the same industry, and POSSIBLY another office job, since a company would be foolish to put him in an office where he cold steal credit for others work AGAIN. He cannot be trusted any farther than a red ant can throw an healthy adult bull African elephant. Perhaps he can land a job in some toxic company with a dead end position, with zero chance of promotion, at the lowest employment level in that company, working 150 hours a week and getting paid for 20 hours, forced to do other's tasks ... He would fit right in there.

Not from Japan and not a lawyer. But I'd question if company 2 could legally apply for a patent on a product whose designer came up with most of the technology while working for company 1. Even if company 2 was first to file, company 1 could show that the specs were based on intellectual property they owned. I would think in this case, company 2 would be guilty of Corporate espionage. Makes me wonder if the story was written by an AI.

Noah and Uie are NOT going to be "happy" that you got together with Nagisa you no... welll ... they might be "happy" to put you 12 foot under ... both a them ARE a "bit" yabdere where you is concerned ... sews Nagisa ... for that matter ... 😮 You MIGHT want to watch behind and to both sides of you az well as whut's coming at you frum the front ... mebby buy a 20 or 24 foot aluminum flat bottom boat and a 25 horse outboard and a couple long - range fuel tanks for when a speedy get-away IS needed ... speedier than yoy can row, anyway ... take "early retirement" and head to the Amazon river basin on some dark overcast eve ... Cute story, but totally unrealistic. Keiichi and Nagisa would be screwed. It wouldn't matter that they filed for the patent first. It wouldn't matter that Keiichi was the designer and his idiot boss fired him. Once it was proven that Keiichi had designed his prototype on his computer at his former company before his termination, his patent would be stripped and he could be charged with corporate espionage. When you are designing a radical new prototype of anything, and, you want to maintain ownership, you do it at HOME! You buy ALL of your components at local electronic stores and keep receipts. Any machining, printed circuit boards, ANYTHING, has to be done outside of the company. You apply for your patent BEFORE you offer it for production to anybody. Otherwise, it belongs to the company where you were working at. Check corporate and patent laws if you don't believe me.
