It falls under article 230-1 in the criminal code of Japan. The "friends" of OP who lied about her bf showing them her private pics defamed him. In the US he'd probably not get far with such a lawsuit, but in many other countries he certainly could.

I had a similar scenerio where my ex's friends decided everything about mine and her relationship and so she would be conflicted by them telling her to break up and her not wanting to lose them or me. The friends ended up threatening my life so and she did nothing about it so I had to leave her.

However, if my friend group would come together and as a whole would tell me my partner did what they said he did, I'd have a hard time believing they would be lying.

NTA, but damn that sucks. As a rule I stand that if you break trust with your partner, that's game over. No relationship can sail on a sea of doubts. However, I have to give up her credit, if all of her friends are pressing her, and telling her that her boyfriend is betraying her trust, I would be surprised if she didn't listen. Ive had friends in very toxic relationships who I've tried to pull out of the fire who picked the SO over their friends and got burned.
