My advice for OP on how to save her family is go for shared custody but give the father more time with the kids because he's clearly better at making good adult decisions. Stay civil with your ex and never meddle in his life again. You don't deserve to get him back it's not a "mistake" it was a decision. I'd also reccomend staying away from relationships for awhile atleast until you can grow up a bit as a person. I'm honestly happy for them that they were able to fix their marriage and move on and still be together....but!!! ... there always is, but .... out of pure curiosity, I'd like to know what the story would be like if her physical experience with another man wasn't as horrible as she described, but the other way around. I guess there would be no need for blackmail from another man and therefore the whole thing would continue until her husband found out otherwise, with drastically different outcome as original story has, i guess... anyway, she is capable of betraying, she prove that by her actions, therefore she can not be fully trusted even if she seems remorseful. At least your husband should have insisted on a post-nup that states if she strays again, she will lose everything-money, house, and custody of the children. Actions do have consequences, and continuing the bad behavior has, in the end, this ultimate consequence, but I see positive hope for this couple.
