I just left my ex alone Monday, I kept finding out him and the same side chick still talking. She purposely kept posting on her Facebook of them together, nothing but receipt she gave. He was lying and saying she was crazy. I had a huge Instinct that something was going on for months but I needed proof. So the side chick decided to post a week straight of pictures of them. Then the last post was my last straw. So I called him at 4 am panicking and saying omg someone tried to break in, soon as he called back, I was like omg omg, I’m kicking you out, your shit is outside already. Your side chick was tryna get you caught a whole week now. So the last day, instead of coming home he was chilling with her painting her toes and she randomly told him that she was cutting him off so she can take her boyfriend seriously and be a better role model for her son. So he played me for her for a year straight , and she played him over and over lying to him. So I guess when her and her boyfriend bump heads she could run to my ex now that he’s available . She sabotaged our relationship but he opened the door for her, so I’m done. His loss. Imma heal. But I rather suffer for my happiness than suffer for a failing toxic domestic violence relationship that wasn’t going no where. Took me 4 1/ years to leave, some of it was I loved him, and some of it was because he scared me. I just pray he leaves me alone. Cuz I’m paranoid that he’ll pop up and be violent.

My longest relationship to this day taught me so much. I was with this dude for 7 months at the time and found out ON FACEBOOK he was with a girl that I used to be friends with back in elementary school. Funny thing was he would always tell me "I don't want to add you on Facebook because I don't care to put my relationship on there." And I found out through her Facebook that they were together. And when I confronted him about it he kept telling me that he didn't put it on there. When we all know in order to show you're in a relationship BOTH parties have to confirm this! Anyways my dumbass stayed with him for a full two years even after this happened. Because he came back and apologized and said that he was in the wrong and blah blah blah. Who knows who else he was talking to while we were together. Its sad that what made me finally leave is when he kept constantly putting his hands on me. Whew chile, this story resonated so much with me. I’ll never forget my junior year of high school, nearly ten years ago, when people kept randomly coming up to me and asking me if me and my bf were still together. I swear, in like one week, three separate people asked if we were still together b/c they had seen him boo’d up with girl in the cafeteria. Honey. Tell me why one random day when I was staying after school, I was walking through the halls and saw his bean-head behind mac daddyin to the same girl people had referenced. When I tell you I was HURT. Whew. Looking back, idk why I let him antics get the best of me. Like you, I had all this resentment towards the girl, and all this other foolishness. I went through the same thing where I didn't love myself enough to say that I prefer self-love over any lust. I am 21 years old and still in college. I just want to say to all of the girls that are going to college or getting ready to go, that there will be a lot of guys who will come to you and ask for one thing. Make sure you have a good group of friends that are not going to sell you out just for a boy to notice them. Even though I haven't gone through that, I know some girls on my campus, who have. It is important for anyone, both girls and boys, to just wait and not give in to the temptation of the new atmosphere because I, too, came from a very small charter school. My graduating class was at least 30 or 40 students, so I was very secluded from what will happen to girls in college. I had a very aggressive boyfriend in my freshman year of college, and I didn't like him for it. In the second semester of college, I liked this guy who was pressuring me to have sex with him. And when I told the guy that I didn't feel comfortable sharing my body with him, he became upset with me. I still see him on campus, lol and he will roll his eyes at me while I will laugh at him with my friends who got my back. It is very stressful to balance a healthy life while college because of the uncontrollable hormones and pressure. However, now that I have gone through enough and matured much more than I have been, I now understand that this is a journey that has literally taught me to accept myself and love myself more.

thank you isi for all of your advice and wanting us to share our stories! so here’s mine: i was on and off with a boy for about a year. we dated for two different summers. the second time it was all summer long. (now i was young, only 13 for pretty much the whole time) so anyway that second summer i finally had him again and it was going great for about a month until our anniversary came along and everything went downhill. i never heard the question “is this as good as love can get?” he wouldn’t treat me the same love i was giving him and it was only good when we saw each other. i cried so much for jinn that summer but i couldn’t let him go. he got annoyed when i called. he just wasn’t what i should have been chasing at such a young age. after he broke up with me again i was heartbroken. it’s been almost two years and i’m nothing like i was back then. i wish i had Isi in my life during all of that but her impact she is having on me still is huge! we all love you so much Isi💖💖💖
