I enjoyed that. What a delightful treat. The place looks quaint with all the antiques. Most of all, the China are beautiful! Loved the floral decorations. The foods look yummy too. I wish to be able to visit there too someday. 🥰

I learned this watching another DIY tea etiquette video, but High Teas are more relaxed with less etiquette rules than an Afternoon Tea . High tea also has the heavier, more filling foods, like your dainty sandwiches with meats and eggs because the main focus of a high tea IS the food, whereas with afternoon tea, the main focus is the tea, so you would serve your heavier, dark teas, like Earl Grey at an afternoon tea and your light teas, like Chamomile at your high tea .

There's a difference between afternoon tea and high tea. High tea is not a fancy meal with dainty little cakes. It's basically supper for the working classes. So many people and even businesses don't know this. It's mind boggling.

Oh my!! How very elegant and such a variety of delicious looking sandwiches and desserts.. We had the experience of High Tea at the Empress Hotel in Vctoria BC. Being Americans, Canada is the closest we will ever get to Rngland, yet they say in some places, Canada iare more English tha the English.

This is not quite the traditional British high tea. The sandwiches are somehow like the open faced sandwiches that originated from Denmark. The "scones" are not traditional and should be cut in half, put the cream first and then jam. I tried the high tea in prince of wales hotel in Niagara on the lake over 10 years ago, the tea was ok, but the scones and sandwiches were not. The cakes in 5th Avenue of sherway are better.
