"Toyota WILL make this right." Unfortunately once the vehicle is sold by an independent dealer (basically a completely separate entity from the manufacturer, the retailer) Toyota doesn't have to do anything. They've already sold the unit to the dealer and made their money. You call Toyota, they point you to the dealer. You call the dealer, they point you to Toyota. It's designed this way for a reason, to keep the customers in an endless cycle of bull 💩. It's a finger pointing scam is what it is. Nobody wants to take responsibility but they love to take your money. If you have $$$ you can get a lawyer and probably get your money back. Many people don't have thousands of dollars laying around just to sue a car manufacturer. And this isn't exclusive to Toyota by any means, THEY ALL PLAY THIS GAME. Every single one, GM, Ford, Chrysler, Honda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Mazda, all of them. I'm speaking from experience. It almost doesn't pay to buy anything new. Better off buying a beater, use it for a year or two then buy another beater. None of the manufacturers stand behind anything that they have to shell out money for. That's the honest truth. People still have the misconception that car manufacturers care about their customers. They do not care about their customers. They are in business to make money, in the car business once you buy it, it's yours. Good luck buddy 👍. Thanks for your money!

I know my 1st Ford Ranger (1987) I was driving on Interstate 5 in California when my stick shift popped out of the floor, while shifting gears (in heavy traffic) well I knew where a Ford Dealer was about 3 miles up the road, and managed to make it in 2nd gear, to get there, I took the stick shift and walked into their show room using the stick shift like a cane, works good for a cane, but doesn't do a damn thing for my truck. Instant service. Cost me $292 for repairs, and I said the truck doesn't even have 3000 miles on it. and is only a month old. Got a check in the mail by Ford Motor Company about a month later. Anwhoose, this truck went the highest milage of any vehicle I ever owned I finally buried it at 348,000 miles and only done one full oil change, at 1500 miles, the rest of the time using Mobil 1, I would replace the filter at 3000 miles and put in another court of Mobil 1. (Now I wouldn't tell you to do this, I used to work at a Mobil 1 gas station and tried it because of the way they ranted and raved about it. Now the trucks I had before my Ford Ranger where Toyota SR5, and the highest milage I could get on them was 130, 000 because idiots kept running into them, and the one with 130,000 on it (car, not truck Toyota Tiger) got picked up by a water spout going over the Pensacola Bay Bridge. Today Toyota just about priced themselves out of the market. Not one vehicle made worth more then $20,000, but you all keep buying them. Oh, my Toyota Tacoma I bought for $4000 because that was the lowest priced good looking and running truck I could find. My other Toy is a Yaris, ($13,999 new) It may not be a speedster but it surprises me the way it drives. Great city car, and good gas milage, my Tacoma gets about 22-24 mpg.

Ford addressed both issues and corrected them so I know Toyota will if they already haven’t. The real problem is the labor for anyone who buys one used as is, no warranty. I worked for a Tier One automotive supplier to 17 US assembly plant. As a rule of thumb (if you can), don't buy a new vehicle with significant technical changes in the first year of production. Most manufacturers make running changes the first months of production based on actual driving, customer feedback and known concerns. It usually takes several months to make the changes through the supply chain. I ignored this guideline and bought a 2018 F150 with the revised 5.0 and 10 spd' soon after its production. After 11k miles I traded back to a 2016 with the 5.0 / 10 spd. The 2018 transmission did not know what gear to be in in town and was constantly lugging the engine with jerky shifts.

Had a Ford V6 3.5L ecoboost, the problems are in the platform. Small displacement, twin turbo puts the engine under immense amounts of pressure among other things. You'll burn timing chains, spark plugs, coils, etc. Just the nature of the beast. You can get a naturally aspirated V8 with a slight decrease in fuel efficiency with proven reliability or you can get a slightly more fuel efficient truck with serious maintenance costs to account for. Also, if something is back ordered it means you're not the only one waiting for the part.

I had this same issue with my 2022 tundra. Got the reduced engine power alert when i was trying to overtake a semi merging onto the highway. I had to immediately pull over onto the side of the highway after almost getting run over. Turned the truck off, turned it back on and no check engine lights. I drove the rest of the way to work and called my dealer, took it in for service the next day and they told me there were no error codes and nothing wrong with the truck that they could see or duplicate. A few months later, I was going to pull into traffic, and when i got on the gas, the truck didn't go anywhere, and i almost got rear-ended and had to jump the curb into the grass. Took the truck back in for service with the dash cam video, and they still told me nothing wrong with the truck. Replaced the plastic piece on the seat 4 times, had the infotainment system glicth repeatedly connect, disconnect, etc. Still have issues with the fuel gage, rattling windows and doors while driving, and the truck sounds terrible on the start-up. I literally will never buy another toyota again. The truck market is terrible now, and i can't even trade out of this pos.

I drive F150's (new one on order) and bought a 2022 Camry so I'm brand neutral on this comment. Ford Super Duties have had the cab-off deal for awhile. I believe it was actually mechanics in the field that came up with the idea. If Toyota designed for that situation, I'm sure it is no big deal. Unplug a few things and lift it off. I would be more unhappy with long waits for parts, but summer of 2020 a buddy waited 3 months for an AC compressor for his Ram. It's all due to parts shortages for everything, not just semiconductors. I would ignore all the "turbos-are-terrible" guys. They make the vehicle perform and have been no issue for me since 2011. Actually, no problem since 2009 if you count my JD utility tractor! Your other option is cylinder deactivation on a V8 which nobody has made reliable t yet. My last Toyota's engine blew at 50,016 miles. It had been used only as a truck to tow our 8,700 lb travel trailer from Maine to Florida. Toyota built their reputation for lifespan on the 2000-2008 models. I strongly believe they will be marked as the least reliable of the major trucks within the next few years. AAA already shows them as being 3rd.

The seat bottoms in recent Toyota's always feel too short and they just don't feel comfortable to my backside. Scotty Kilmer, who is a massive Toyota fan, warned about the 2022 Tundra turbo 3.5L V6 engine a few weeks ago. He predicted major problems with it, and he has proven to be correct (not only from your video but others). Ford also had growing pains and problems with it's Ecoboost engines, including the early ones from 2011 on, and then the new 2017 3.5L V6s twin turbos. The later 3.5s had issues with the waste gates and cam phasers, which caused noise and rattling, especially during cold starts. Ford made this right, and a CSB plus your powertrain warranty means Ford replaces the cam phasers for free if you are under 60,000 miles, and then it is a percentage cost replacement over 60K miles. 2022 Toyota owners are also having issues with the auto shutoff system, rear seat latches, some fit and finish issues, windshield sealing (hearing wind at speed), the autobraking systems activating on inclines, the rear seat belt indicator going off when no one is in the rear of the cab, door latch issues, and the steering wheel popping out of its place setting. However, all of these pale in comparison to the waste gate issue on the engines.

Somehow, I had a gut feeling about these new 2022 Tundra's and now I know that I was right. These engineers took away the V8 engine and installed their highly sophisticated twin turbo V6 engine. Which by the way needs 93 octane for the engine to function properly to keep it in spec.. If you try to put anything below the 93 octane look out. Toyota got themselves into a pickle and I hope for your sake they come through for you. They should have left the V8's alone but people want fuel economy. People are going to have to pay a price one way or the other. I hope Toyota comes through for you. You had laid out the big bucks for the Tundra for sure. I bought a 22 Toyota tundra 1794 edition. After five days Of owning the truck my check engine light came on. I took it to the dealership they told me it was an error message so they fixed it. I went home and after a couple days Same thing check engine light with another light that was right next to it. So I took it back to the dealership this time they told me it was the fuel injector sensor that wasn’t working, one of them. They told me I could drive home it’s safe because they had to backorder the part I was so stupid enough to drive home with my check engine light on but after a week or so I called him back and I told him that I don’t feel safe and I will need a loaner car so they told me to take back the truck get a loaner. So after three weeks or maybe less than three weeks they fixed my truck and I got it back. After a couple days my truck started making some weird noises quick call starting some clicking noise so I took the truck back to them and I told him bad there is a problem and before taking it to Toyota I took it to my mechanic just to see if he could tell what’s wrong with it and he gave me a report saying what’s wrong with my truck because there was a noise coming from the bottom of my truck which had to do something with the transmission or Or something I’m not a mechanic so I don’t exactly know what is wrong with it but the thing is that they could hear the noise so they call Their Mechanic from Toyota the specialist to come and check it out. But the mechanic told him that you know it’s not a safety issue so you can just drive home with a broken truck that makes a weird noise when starting it. Till now Toyota is refusing to fix it. I had the same issue with my Lexus IS200t. My check engine would pop when I would drive and I’d lose power and run in reduced power. I took it in, they changed the throttle body saying it was the throttle body. Kept happening afterwards. Looked in to it, and it turns out (if your pedal is on the floor like mine rather than coming down from above) the mats sometimes get caught under the pedal keeping the gas technically “on” and when pushing the break, both pedals are essentially being pushed down causing the car to think it can’t stop and essentially shutting down power. I readjusted the all weather OEM mats my car has and it completely stopped all the issues it had with losing power.

Your truck has the exact build I'm looking for and it does look awesome, minus the turbo issue ;-). I hate it when people get stuck with an issue like this and don't have their vehicle due to no parts.
