@Ande.Crys1 sorry that my joy triggers you but for me breastfeeding just felt the most natural thing to do. It definitely isn't a dig at anyone. Where I'm from breastfeeding is seen as old fashioned women prefer bottle feeding as it comes with more freedom as all the family members can take turns feeding baby, etc. I'm just proud sticking to my guns and doing what I feel is right for my baby. Sagging boobs or not. I'm actually not opposed to bottle feeding. For me a fed baby and a sane mom is the goal.

They might say breast is best, and I agree, but unfortunately, I've had a double mastectomy due to a misdiagnosis. So, in my case, fed is best. Got a bit fed up of people telling me breast is best throughout my pregnancy and being put in a position where I have to repeatedly explain the trauma I went through and why I can't provide what is 'best' for my son. We mama's can only do our best as sometimes what would be ideal isn't an option. Do what's right for you and your baby, it's no one elses business.
@AllyandAndy2 ай бұрын
I agree. Moms who Formula fed their babies for what ever reason are criticized and it’s not fair. I think some people think that only formula fed babies are judged. But this wasn’t the case for me, I breastfed and got judged. I breast fed until 18 months and after a year many people were making comments on how I should stop and she is too old. It’s funny how you can’t please anyone. So exactly as you said, you need to just focus on doing the best for your baby and not listen to the outside opinions. Thanks for sharing your story💕

I can see why they may ask after delivery, maybe one more time at his first pediatricians visit, because they want to know EVERYTHING!!! If he's formula fed, then they want to know what kind of formula, but besides that , nobody should ask. That's something I've never asked a new Mom, and people need to stop asking that!!
@Liv-gr5vl2 ай бұрын
@@jenniferwilliams9548 I had to explain it in one of my initial midwife appointments which made sense and she said she'd flag it on my notes so people didn't keep asking. They kept asking. No one bothered to look at my notes. I understand that obviously what baby is having is very relevant to monitoring their health, but so many people repeatedly asked. It wasn't just healthcare professionals, I also had someone tell me I had no right to have children if I couldn't breastfeed them and essentially told me I was an awful person for doing it as I was setting my child up for failure and lifelong problems.

Breastfeeding mum here so I have nothing against it but I was fully formula fed as a baby because of some major mistakes made in the hospital when I was born (no skin to skin, immediate formula feed) and I’m fine?? It’s certainly better to breastfeed but not by much. I tried to fully breastfeed and I managed to for a long time but my baby is looking so skinny and isn’t gaining the weight she needs to with my milk so we’re supplementing. You do what you need to do.

That’s awesome to hear but the worst thing to happen to my children is my delivery with them. Their health is perfect and that’s all that matters. I did want to attempt it but my neurologist said one of my meds made it a no no. And honestly I think I’d be tired out of my mind if I couldn’t sleep and have my husband not be able to whip out a titty to help lol I heard pumping is the worst too. BUT I heard a long time ago when I had my first that a C-section recovery was worse than vaginal. Well first 3 were vaginal and number 4 was C-section. My god they weren’t wrong even though before it happened to me I was convinced it wasn’t true. So I can’t say how I feel about it other than that I’d feel like I wouldn’t have as much help BUT I can’t say I have me some healthy babies. When people throw judgement at me because I bottle feed I always say…fed is best…not breast is best.

Yes! I nursed my baby until 3 months, when we switched to exclusively pumping. It was better for my mental health. I was only able to pump until about 10-11 months, when that became too taxing on my mental health. Isn't that too long? If I had children I would try to breastfeed them until they were about 10 months old, after which I would start weaning them off of breastmilk, so that by 12-14 months old they would be completely off of breastmilk.
@elizabethbaird3604Ай бұрын
@@nadlerskid Good for you. Let’s see what you do if/when the time comes, aye? No, it’s not “too long”. As if I’m going to agree with you on that. It was my proudest achievement and I don’t regret any of it. Child-led weaning is an integral part of the attachment (aka empathetic) parenting method, which is now overwhelmingly evidence based. If you want your child to have a healthy attachment to you that sets them up for healthy attachments when they grow up, breastfeed them until they’re ready to wean. I’m not going to defend my parenting any further. I’ve been doing it for 23 years. Do your own research and follow your own heart and intuition. Peace out ☮️.

Western society really has quite a perverted attitude towards breasts, breast feeding and sexuality. It’s all very convoluted for those who fail to ponder the essence of nature and perpetuating the human race. Sad loss for millions of mothers and babies who will never know such joy.

Let them judge, there are ups and downs of breastfeeding like exhaustion, pain, clogged ducts etc. But that means nothing to the beautiful bonding that happens with breastfeeding. At points you want to stop but once that time arrives (breastfed my first daughter for 2 years, 1 week), it's sad and an adjustment for you emotionally. I missed that bonding, the little smiles up at you, the silly giggles. I look forward to nursing my second daughter soon. 😊 Feed your baby from your body as long as necessary and/or you feel ready to let go.

I totally agree. The moment you stop breastfeeding it feels like a new chapter in life. A new milestone that is both exciting but also sad. We all want our babies to grow up and be healthy but selfishly we want them to stay little forever.

Bottle fed all 4. Never shame breastfeeding. Completely bonded while I fed my babies. Do people think bottle feeding is sticking a bottle in their mouth and not looking or connecting with them. I remained constant eye contact, talked and sang with all 4 of mine. Fed is best. (Breast is cheaper though)

I was still lactating when my son was 8 years old. He stopped nursing on the eve of his fourth birthday. By that stage I had been lactating for eight years straight, between my two kids. I had only six months off between them but lactated during that time. My son didn’t have to wait for my milk to come in - it was full cream from day one. 😂

My son is 3 weeks I just started combo feeding him bc he wasn't gaining enough weight. But omg I get upset when I think about stopping! It changes your brain feeding your baby from your body❤ I have to go to work in a few weeks and I have to transition to bottle feeding sooner or later but I honestly really don't want too but have to soo I plan on bottle feeding him through the day and breastfeeding him at nighttime for now❤❤❤ I'm gonna be so sad even just doing nights tho

I’m 7 months in and it goes by so so fast, still going strong and had so many difficulties along the way. Make sure you’re eating enough whole grains like oatmeal, and nuts helped me as well like walnuts, pecans, and pistachios.. SunChips are also whole grain and granola as well! Munchkin makes a good salted caramel chocolates cookie at target too, they are called milk makers! Seaweed also helps produce milk! You can make it, remember it’s for your baby brain development and so worth it! Stay strong and get good quality sleep. Don’t be worried, it gets easier after month 5 or 6. This stage doesn’t last for ever. 💗

Bottle fed is fine. Breastfeeding is a choice not the rule.
@kathleenevans12013 ай бұрын
@reena9226 Breastfeeding is NOT a "must do thing." Breastfeeding is a choice. It is NOT mandatory. I am not one of those women who were conditioned to believe that breastfeeding is the only way. I chose to bottle feed my children, and they suffer no ill effects because of it.
@reena92263 ай бұрын
@@kathleenevans1201 "must to do thing " I meant for health of baby. As I already said, no one is forcing someone to breastfeed. It's not me WHO is saying that I am just quoting the facts .. Breastfeeding is one of the most effective ways to ensure child health and survival. However, contrary to WHO recommendations, fewer than half of infants under 6 months old are exclusively breastfed. "Breastmilk is the ideal food for infants. It is safe, clean and contains antibodies which help protect against many common childhood illnesses. Breastmilk provides all the energy and nutrients that the infant needs for the first months of life, and it continues to provide up to half or more of a child’s nutritional needs during the second half of the first year, and up to one third during the second year of life. Breastfed children perform better on intelligence tests, are less likely to be overweight or obese and less prone to diabetes later in life. Women who breastfeed also have a reduced risk of breast and ovarian cancers. Inappropriate marketing of breast-milk substitutes continues to undermine efforts to improve breastfeeding rates and duration worldwide."

We're not saying that there's something wrong with you if you don't Brest feed. We're saying that it's healthier and safer most of the time. Do you know what kind of crap they put in formula? My son is autistic now because of feeding him Gerber purees, there's a federal lawsuit against them because of hurting so many babies. Look up how formula got started. It's killed THOUSANDS of babies expecially in other countries. I get it, some people can't or don't want to Brest feed. But don't get snippy with us b cause we're making a safer choice. I know you don't think it's a big deal but my son wasn't born autistic he was lead poisoned by baby food and now he may never talk or eat by himself. We're not judging you, we're pushing it because it's what's best for the baby, if you can manage it. Why are you mad that people cair about your baby?
