The magnitude of some of these comebacks are almost unfathomable. Liverpools 0-3 comeback against Milan/Barcelona or Barcelona's 0-4 comeback against PSG were actually the most surreal things to watch, even though you've watched football for 20+ years and you're left utterly speechless.

Fact about Maradona- During his season 1989- 91 he turned 30. He was playing with so much things in his knes/legs to make it possibile for him to play more matches when he was injured. They used syringes with god knows what, and in his left ankle he actully had a top of a screw inside his ankle, INSIDE HIS ANKLE HE HAD A TOP OF A SCREW LEFT. They used screws to fix his ankle and when they were supposed to take the apart. A part of a screw got lost inside his left ankle so he played his last seasons with a screw inside his foot it was always swollen during his matches. Sometimes he couldn`t even bring on his football shoes. He had got a stamping on his right leg so his big toe nail was bent inwards. THE MENTALITY THAT HE HAD WAS MAD.

AC Milan vs Liverpool. 2005. Istanbul. Milan had what I would say is the greatest assembled team I’ve seen. The best players in the world in every position. The France guy Thuram hurts on another level as a Croatian. France took away both of our chances to win a world cup.. It's such an insane and yet such a sad story.. Croatia started playing under the name Croatia only after a war in 1992 and our footballers reached a world cup semi final in 1998, just 6 years after the war happened. And then sadly, Touram happened with his only 2 ever goals for France in his WHOLE career. Fast forward 20 years later, 2018 was here and Croatia managed to reach the world cup finals and sadly France was again the slightly better and much luckier side. Imagine how happy we were for our footballers, a country of 4 milion people that breathes football in the finals of a world cup. When they came back home, there was more than 550k people waiting for them in the streets of Zagreb and cheering for them, I was there and it was magical! Can you imagine that btw? There is a bit less than 4 milion people in Croatia and there was more than 550k of us waiting for our team to arrive home from the world cup? It felt like that silver was a gold in our hearts! Oh, and Luka Modric won a ballon d'or (best player in the world) award that year so that also felt really special. Here is a link btw. If you wanna see the celebration when the Croatian team arrived home: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gaW7o6asl7t5gq8

You have to put in perspective what a goal actually means for a game of football. The game ends up with no goal at all more often than not. Therefore, scoring 1 goal in a game of football can mean as much as scoring 100 pts in a basketball game. That is why it is celebrated as much as you can see in these clips.

15:33 Lucas Moura's 3 goals in succession were monumental for Tottenham. Champions' League games are played as a best of two matches. Ajax were up 1-0 before that match was played, and had already scored 2 goals in that game. Moura then came in to score 3 goals for Tottenham and put them through to the Champions' League Final for the first time. (goals scored away from home were used as a tie break if the overall score was tied) What's even more insane is the 4 goals by Liverpool starting at 16:00 took place in the same season. The Champions' League was incredible that year.

Very good observation about missing the context of the these moments. Same true in every sport - we can appreciate the individual moments of athleticism on their own, but within the context, history and significance of a game/season/history of a sport, it takes on a far deeper and more profound significance. For lovers of football, this video is an incredible collection of significant moments. WOuld love to see something similar for NBA.

Great reaction, I really like you guys and how you talk about how know you don't know everything about it to begin with which is great. I recommend looking at Chelsea's 2012 champions league final run. It was basically the last opportunity for our players who were in the great squad of 04-05 to win the champions league. That year we finished 6th in the league after a poor season, we changed managers half way through, scraped by so many games and in the final had to play Bayern Munich in their own stadium. We were 1-0 in the 87th minute and went on to score and win on penalties after Cech saved a penalty in extra time. I still get goosebumps thinking about the game

Great Reaction Guys.:)There are 7,000 Teams in England alone and 4 main divisions with Promotion and Relegation between each division. The difference between The English Premier League and The Second Tier is $240,000,000 each season due to TV money. The bottom 2 sides in the 4th Tier drop out into The Semi-Professional Leagues some never to return. One team reformed under a slightly different name after THe Club moved 75 miles, which caused riots and was unheard of in English Football. The new team: AFC Wimbledon started from the bottom and worked their way up to the 3rd Tier playing AGAINST the Team "MK DONS (Dons short for Wimbledon ) .It took 14 years for the new team to progress to the 3rd Tier of English Football. :)

I love how the bloke on the right is genuinely passionate about the game and wants to convey that to his brother! I believe it was Pele who coined the term ' The beautiful game.'

As a Manchester United fan, and after you making the comment after Ryan Giggs' goal that you feel bad that you don't know the meaning behind these goals, I am more than happy to put that particular one into perspecitve for you because it is still, to do this day, one of the most wonderful moments of my life. Especially as I was physically in the satidum witnessing it! 1999, Arsenal had come out of nowhere and won both the league and the FA Cup the previous season after employing some French manager that had been plying his trade, very randomly, in Japan. He come's along, assembles an unbelievable group of players in the space of 12 months. Sir Alex Ferguson is not a fan of this and from 1998 onwards there was a massive rivalry between Arsenal and us. That game, as I said, being the season after they had taken the league title off us and won the FA Cup as well, was the FA Cup Semi-final replay. So every player on that pitch had already been through 120 minutes of football with nothing being able to seperate them. That goal was scored in extra time again, so another 2 hours of football for them lot and this also after the Arsenal legend Bergkamp had a penalty in 92nd minute of normal time saved by our legendary goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel. And, not to mention, all this transpired after out captain had been sent off for no reason as well, so we were 10 men playing against 11. And that sort of stuff is why us lot across the pond love football so much. Doesn't have to be a huge club like United, Real Madrid, Barca, Bayern. You see the same sort of things from the top to the bottom of the game. Just give "Bradford City's capital one cup", "Troy Deeney vs Leicester play off goal", "Bradford vs Chelsea F.A. Cup 4th round" or one of my faves - "Jimmy Glass, Carlisle" a search on here. That team, the last one I mentioned, was at the very bottom of the football league system and then that happened. It's been dubbed "The Beautiful Game" by many since it started properly in the mid 1800s for a good reason!

I play in the lowest league in north wales, yet the memories in my mind feel like this video. I highly advise you to start playing. 5 a side is a good start, something tells me you two would fall in love with it.

Berbatov was the first player from 64 years to score 3 goals in one game for Man united against Liverpool, he deserved a second in that video

International matches are commented from dozens of commentators from dozens of countries. But there are just a few for the nation that wins and they are of course freaking out more than random commentators from somewhere.

Some of these moments are the National teams, probably another huge difference with basketball. Countries playing each other where everyone goes crazy. That's one of the biggest differences I guess with US sports, international completion and representing your country. Basketball at the Olympics don't really count lol
