Simple Jimin gets hate cause he is the absolute King of kpop, his popularity is beyond anything imaginable in the kpop industry and he is breaking every record on the book without his label support 🔥 the most versatile artist, he aint afraid to experiment sounds cause who even debuts as a soloist rapping when he is a vocal in the group? I didn't see anyone recommending Smeraldo Garden Marching Band, the presingle of his new album MUSE, one of the most unique songs fr, is a happy song as well with some cutesy easy-to-follow choreo but with an intriguing concept (as per usual with Jimin) just know that is based on his musical muses The Beatles and the concept is surrounding The Beatles own Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band album concept 😅🎉

Just my opinion on the hate. Jimin is stupid talented. Smart, physically gifted and trained, amazing voice and vision with a powerhouse production team behind him. He is also one of the sweetest people on the planet. I swear his love language is all of them. So he seems soft and like and easy target. This song, to me, if him giving permission to himself to not care what other people say. It's not about other people sending hate, but more about denying it for himself because he doesn't have to receive it and give it attention.

In BTS songs autotuned/distorted vocals are very often used to convey inner struggle (depression/dark thoughts, negative self-image, the subconscious “shadow”, etc.) Like Come Back To Me, this is was a pre-release but it is the last track of an album exploring Jimin’s dark thoughts & feelings of loneliness/isolation during the pandemic. The postponement and later cancellation of their highly anticipated & sold out Map Of The Soul: 7 world tour hit them all hard. Jimin found himself drinking more than usual to cope and decided to channel his feelings into his music instead. Set Me Free pt. 2 is him letting go of all the things that held him back over the years, both external and internal. The first track from his 2nd solo album MUSE is titled “Rebirth”.
