My Brutally Honest Review of the VIORI BEAUTY Organic RICE SHAMPOO and CONDITIONER Bars

It’s important to clarify your hair a few times a month. We should be doing this in general but especially if you use bars. It can build up a waxy film over time. I’ve been using shampoo bars for 10 years. I love them. My hair has grown a lot faster and healthier with them. But I stopped using them after about a year because, like you, it weighed down my hair. I did more research and realized I just needed to clarify my hair. Pro tip: even if you’re someone who doesn’t use shampoo bars if your hair randomly starts becoming limp and straw like and is just not looking good. Do a deep clarifying treatment then use a hair mask and you’ll be set 👍

I am Asian and I love this bar shampoo and conditioner. I do not wash my hair daily but I do it every other day. The volume is really amazing. I do not put any other products on my hair. Hello! What’s the texture of your hair? I’m half Asian, half Mexican. My hair is very thick and the strands themself are probably considered course. I wash every 3 days or so. Mom of four from California where most people used to be natural, but most of the natural ones have left due to the techies and bio-techies and fake science "profe$$ionals" driving up the housing prices and forcing all the natural ones out. And pushing their lies "woke" agenda using science that works against nature (us). Vxs, Climate change lie/ electric vehicles/artificial sun (fake clean energy patent), blm, LGBTQ, etc. etc. faux-cause movement of the "smart" gnd/nwo. Now Floridians and other states are suffering, even homeless from the influx of Californians that don't feel at home in California anymore. I raised my four children in nature in America, in Sf bay (that is not California anymore). They're all grown, the youngest two are ages 19 and 17.We ate only organically grown food in our family and used no chemical products, bleach, plastic bags, etc. I never used any substandard chemical product filling the stores in America. i.e. cosmetics, cleaners, etc.; for over 30 years synthetic chemical and chemical fragrance free. Honestly they're for unintelligent people. It's not Ok to use that kind of chemical fragrance. For one thing it smells bad, horrible chem. perfumey. For another thing, they're tricking/duping dumb people selling substandard chem. products, pretending to be natural. And feeding them chemicals directly to the scalp/brain. And another thing, chemical/synthetic fragrances are in no way traditional. I was very disturbed by the chemical fragrance. That was also very strong and overpowering with the classic chemical fragrance (bad perfume smell) that is in all artificial fragrance products. Then they sent me the unscented. But I did not like it. I actually love and need a little natural scent in my cosmetics and dish soap etc. (Essential oils or directly from the herbs themselves, infusion, etc.) And another, important thing: The more chemicals in your products and no-organic food and sugar you eat, the more chances your offspring will be homo. A mans eggs will be balls ,when they should be egg shaped. That is the reality of the situation. I had to send this to Viori again today, 5/3/23.... Dear Viori Customer service, This (Viori) email came to my inbox. Over the past 3 + years, I've unsubbed 3 x and asked you to unsub me 2x in private emails to the reps. The Viori sales emails still arrive. Please try to take me off your list. Thanks.

If you have build up, you may need to wash twice. I also use a scalp scrubby thing with the rubber spikes! It works amazing with these bars because you are able to get the product everywhere and really get down to your scalp. One month isn’t enough time for your hair to go through the natural process of being used to all the chemical shampoos and not having all that detergent dry out your hair. Which may be also why there is build up on your scalp because you are not using harsh detergents. It takes time but you have to be willing to go through the process. I have the same type of hair as you and these things have helped so much. It also feels so much better knowing I’m not using all the harsh stuff on my head and scalp.

I use high quality shampoos/etc so I’m not concerned about what I used before to be honest. I tried washing more than once as well! Thanks for the insight- oh and yes, I have one of those scrubbers. I keep it in the shower, definitely comes in handy! As for these bars, they’re just not a fit for me. Win some, lose some 💜🤷🏻‍♀️

My hair is thick and frizzy and this is the one product that weighs my hair down enough so I don't have hair sticking out all over. I have used COUNTLESS products that are supposed to control frizz, with literally no luck. This product was actually a nice surprise for me! Lol

Been using viori for a year now, we have hard water and I color treat my hair, have to say these bars are by far the best thing I've ever used. My hair is soft, shiny and looks amazing. Make sure you take their test to get the best bars for your hair type, that is important imo

I've tried all 4 and one of the limited quantity ones. the citrus one, for normal to oily, was too heavy for my hair. gave that one to my mom and she loves it! the others, normal to dry, were all good but the floral one for some reason works the best with the natural unscented second. with them all being normal to dry why those 2 work better, I don't know. but I love these shampoo and conditioner bars. and I've tried alot of them. they are the best I've used. I've always washed my hair about twice a week. I'm vegan so I love all of the good stuff. but what works for some just won't work for everyone. you've got to find what's good for you. and I hope you have and everyone does.

My sister bought this shampoo bar and the conditioner. When I saw it and smelled it, I said to her that this is nothing like the Yao rice water treatment. The bars were overly perfumed and the texture of the shampoo bar felt grainy to me. I’m southeast Asian and naturally have very long waist length hair.

Exactly. Immanuel Rose. I did not mind the texture that seemed very natural. But....The synthetic/artificial chemical perfume smell was horrible and substandard. They're trying to trick people and substitute unnatural things pretending they're natural. (And In every aspect of our lives.) The fake men and fake women are everywhere now. They support fake (control) sciences of the Chemical Tech. War Industry that pushes: Fake Science that works against nature (us). Our true science is nature... the science of nature. Love these. It brought back my thickness I had when younger. It's healthy again and ended the frizz. I have brown wavy hair on bottom, straight on top. It would get oily quick but now I can go 3 days without too much buildup. I don't have to use other products after a shower, I can just run my hands through hair. It's super soft. And I get to use less waste for the environment. It was a good find! I've been using it for a year now.

I've been using this for 6 months and I have gotten growth after washing and conditioner on my scalp. I then use a scalp massager! Once a month I use charcoal clarifying. I love it, I don't wash everyday I wash 2-3 days! I got Terrace Garden!❤️❤️

Many shampoo bars do not work well if you have hard water, unfortunately. I’ve seen some mention that on their packaging. A vinegar rinse is supposed to help.

I have been hearing this and my hair is awful. So I did what some other youtubers said...use distilled water if you have hard water. So I started washing my hair in the sink with distilled water and I am shocked with how much softer and more manageable it was with one wash. After two washes I am not going back. But I would like to try these shampoo bars. So using distilled water with the bars may work well with them.

I have found that washing my hair with these shampoo bars with Cold Water make a huge difference in how you hair looks. Mine is very shiny, soft and it did not take away the greys I already have but I have not gotten anymore greys. I LOVE Viori products!

Best shampoo/conditioner I’ve ever used! And I have an Arsenal of Kerastase, Aveda, Oribe, Alfapart etc. This stuff beats them all. I have an oily scalp so I use the Citfus shampoo, but I have dry hair so I use Hidden Waterfall conditioner. Works great. I clarify my hair once a month with Phyto Detox shampoo and scrub my scalp with Naturelab Tokyo scrub. My hair has a ton of volume, great shine and it’s super soft. I will use these forever.

I love their products I have been using them formonths and all I see is positive changes . My hair is naturally oily and slow to grow. Since using my hair has felt light and weightless, healthy super Shiney and has been growing. I love their product. I have nothing negative to say about this product. I tried all the scents and even the body wash. It just has been amazing for me. Does not cause breakage and definitely my hair has never been healthier and shined like this. I have only used the shampoo and conditioner for about 3 weeks. I like them so far. My hair is so much easier to manage and has a good shine. I don't always shampoo my hair everyday. Usually it's once every other day. I have the citrus bar for normal to oily hair. Actually I think my hair is on the dry side so I bought the wrong shampoo and conditioner. So far I don't notice my hair is thicker but it's better than the other shampoos I used in the past. My previous shampoo weighs down my hair. I hope I will still like it after 2 months. I am tired of trying out different shampoos.

Its had a positive impact on my fine curly hair. I use the Yao Citris shampoo bar and it cleanses my hair enough without stripping it. The conditioner gives the perfect amount of moisture without leaving any build up on my fine hair. In fact my hair is more voluminous. My hair shows build up immediately with low quality ingredients. I wonder what styling products you used. Low quality butters and oils leave build up and dry the hair out. Clarifying too often also dries hair out.

I tried it and it’s actually perfect. Tbh it’s kind of hard to understand the complaints about it but hey everyone’s hair is different. I have incredibly thick hair and I’ve never seen my hair this shiny, I’ve never felt it this soft and light-weight, and the product actually detangles my hair. I personally love the Viori hidden terrace shampoo and conditioner, i have Medium porosity extremely long naturally blond wavy hair and this makes my hair super shiny and I have significantly less breakage. Maybe it does not work that well for other hair types? I use a clarifying shampoo every 4 weeks though, to avoid protein overload and because it is generally recommended if you regularly use sulfate free shampoos. Also I use a moisturizing mask, a kerastase leave in and the olaplex hair oil. This routine was a game changer for me. The only thing the Viori products do not do is make your hair grow faster out of your head, no product can do that. My hair length improved though, because the ends didn’t break off as much.

I am a natural redhead with thick hair, well technically it's fine but I have ALOT of it, I have been using vior for over a year, I absolutely love it, the conditioner bar basically detangles my hair on it's own, and make my hair smooth and sleek, and I have always had very tangly prone hair. I will say I have tried 2 of their different "scents" and they definitely performed different on me, I also double shampoo, I use a more clarifying shampoo first then use my bars, and typically only wash once a week. I use them (citrus yao), and they are amazing on my hair! I started using them after I was in the hospital for covid for about a month... I received so many aggressive treatments! then about 2 weeks after I got home, HALF my hair fell out! I was horrified and in tears. My dermatologist said it was due tot he treatments, and they are getting TONS of post-covid patients with the same problem. I hear that Viori helps with hair growth (along with a oil treatment I'm doing, and multivitamins). I've been using Viori almost 2 years now, and I noticed weeks after I started, new hair growth began to sprout up everywhere. I don't really notice a difference in strength, per se. Volume was never a problem because my hair is curly/wavy. But it does keep my hair shiny and soft. So for me, its a winner. Also, they say if you use something ph balanced on your hair, that is really good for your scalp and it helps your hair to grow. And these bars are ph balance. My hair really seems to like that.

There is an unscented bar available. A huge factor is the product you use on your hair after shampooing and conditioning and in between shampoos. If you use a number of products and frequent heat, this would be a factor. I personally love it and it has improved my hair growth and condition. I am 62 years of age with dyed and highlighted, layered, shoulder length hair. I also use the Oribe heat protector and the Oribe split end sealer after twice weekly shampoos. Not much of anything else.

I got the flora sent shampoo and cond. Bars and for me i loved it, i didnt feel awkward or unnatural to switch from bottle to bar, about a month into it i did notice my hair has a fabulous shine but i do have split ends and it causes the bottom inch or so to frizz bad, the rest stays soft and dries well without heat. I just re did their quiz to see if a different bar set will help my spit ends better so fingers 🤞 So far 7/10 score card on my end.

When I got my first set, I was so happy with the results that I purchased a set of every fragrance and a limited addition. But then, a few weeks in, my hair started shedding like crazy and my hair dried out. I have since learned that rice water is not good for my hair type. I quit using viori, then went back a month later...I never got the wonderful results that I did in the beginning.

I’ve used viori for over 1 year. I’ve never needed to clarify and my hair hasn’t looked better. I have long hair past my butt and it’s thick, coarse, and dry. I only need to use the conditioner bar every other time, I use to use handfuls of conditioners to offset the shampoo.

I personally love the shampoo and conditioner bars. To anyone who might be experiencing problems, its good to make sure that you dont have an allergy or sensitivity to any of the ingredients. Fragrance is unfortunately a common allergin so maybe the unscented bars may be better. Its recommended to clarify at least once a month with a sulfate shampoo or ACV rinse (recommend to me by a cosmetic chemist). And a big one is that rice has protein, and rice water is considered a protein treatment. Not everyone's hair tolerates protein the same way, so if youre hair is protein sensitive, this probably isnt a product you want to use consistently. I have tight, curly hair that is porous and loves protein so these bars are personally great for me, and i do acv rinses routinely (its stinky but man is it a game changer) i hope this helps 😊

I have been using Fiori shampoo bar and conditioner for about three months. This is what I have found. It is a good product. My hair has become bouncy, feels fuller, and in combing my hair, I have noticed my hair is falling much less. Is softer and shiny too. With that being said, to help my hair recover, I have stopped dying, I have stopped using hair dryers, I don’t use the shampoo bar every day. In my research, rice water /shampoos tend to weigh your hair down and can cause it to dry as well if used frequently . In a normal week and depending on activity, I shampoo my hair, three maybe four times a week. I also didn’t notice a lot of change after 30 days. But my husband advised me that maybe i need to go a month or two more to start seeing results. So I did. For me, it is working but I had to sacrifice not dying my hair. That was hard. And really, after doing all of that, I’m finding I don’t have to use any other products to maintain my hair. This is my humble assessment of this product.

I think it felt weighed down for you because you used Hidden Waterfall. Hidden Waterfall and Terrace Garden are very moisturizing. It was great when I had bleached ends with ombre hair. Now that my hair is back to nearly all black I get really oily just naturally. I ordered Citrus Yao accidentally recently but it was a happy accident because wow it smells so good and it was perfect on my jet black hair and oily scalp. I feel so clean without that dry stripped-of-moisture feel. My fiancé and his mom love it so much. They suffer psoriasis but are also oily and the Citrus Yao is their perfect balance. This year we are gifting Citrus Yao to most our relatives as stocking stuffers, and Garden Terrace for the blonder curlyQ’s in the family. I admit the Viori conditioners are meh to me. If anything the conditioner bar is perfect for leg shaving. I also run it over parts of my body where I typically suffer from eczema before I step out of the shower but for my hair it’s just meh. My general routine is Citrus Yao on my scalp and 360 hairline, purple toner shampoo for just the ends where I’m still a bit bleached, and for conditioner I returned to my regular purple conditioner. I hope you consider Citrus Yao shampoo alone.

I love these bars and don't think I'll ever use anything else again. They make my hair softer and shinier and slower to get oily. It feels so much nicer and lighter somehow. The other week, I confirmed all this, when I had to use other products for a few days while waiting for my next bars. All of those products left my hair oily and heavy and just...gross-feeling. I was so excited to see my next bars arrive. Maybe try one of their other formulations? Cause I've never had anything work such wonders for my hair!

I have not looked at the ingredients in the bar yet but I make a shampoo bar and have never had that happen? I can use mine 4 times a day and never dries my hair out and never leaves a residue on my hair or combs. I'll go check out the ingredients.

Bought the bars in August 2021, those were great for me! I was really excited to repurchase them a 2nd time. In December 2021, I got my 2nd bars and HARD PASS! I ended up contacting them directly, and was told they ended up changing the formula of the bars so it was even more drying. The conditioner bar didn't even work anymore. It left no scent behind. In fact, my hair smelled like unwashed hair even though the bars themselves were so much stronger than the original bars I had. The scent changed. They covered the packaging in floral scents. I was so disheartened! They were so great for after swims, and then it was the worst thing ever. I ended up just finishing the 2nd shampoo bar recently, and the conditioner bar is still full, I mean considering the fact it never moisturized my hair anymore it makes sense that it's still full. I ended up trying out some Lush products, and found shampoo & conditioner I love even more. It's to the point that when I swim in bucket loads of chlorine, I can still smell my shampoo.

I loved these bars at first. Then gradually started experiencing hair loss, to the point where I had huge clumps of hair come out in the shower and after combing out my hair. I narrowed things down to the shampoo bar, and went back and read a lot of reviews where people had the same problem. It's been about 2 months since I've stopped using it, and the hair loss after I shower is considerably less.

I tried the hidden waterfall after already using Terrace garden and I think hidden waterfall has some sort of issue. It left white stuff in my hair, was hard to wash out and didn’t feel good. The Terrace Garden one feels great, never leaves stuff in my hair and my hair doesn’t tangle easily and doesn’t get oily.

Little late but I love these shampoo and conditioner bars. I’m obsessed with them. They all work so well on my hair. I have always used very expensive shampoos and I have to say these bars are so much better in my opinion. If I could make a change it would be that the scent actually stayed in the hair. I got this today and will update what my hair's doing tomorrow, because I heard that you don't need to wash every day. I used to need to wash my hair every day with regular shampoo bottles. I have fine hair so it get oily after 14 hours with regular store shampoo. The ends of my hair aren't like straw anymore after 1 use and it's a lot shinier and soft (even after I tested with a blow dryer). I used to need hair oil to untangle my hair after a shower but I don't need it anymore. I'm also gonna be honest here.... There's a lot more body to my hair too. Not messing around. I have thin fine hair that would look thinner if I grew it out. I've always wanted long hair but it wouldn't look right. Now I can. Maybe someday I can tie my hair up without feeling self conscious.

@@BrittWitkinI gave it 3 months just in case. My hair is in love. I had build up after the first month bc my hair was transitioning from liquid shampoo to the bar. I clarified it with one part apple cider vinegar and 3 parts water in a spray bottle. I massaged it into my hair for a minute before washing it out. Viori is the best investment I ever made. Strong, shiny, elastic, voluminous, and parts of my hair that fell out before are regrowing.

I used the bars about 2-3 months. No tangles and my ends looked decent but no shine. Volume was a bit but the bars build up wax over time. Clarify of course. The conditioner was my deal breaker. I did use them directly on my hair so I started lathering them up on my hands before applying on my hair. It legit felt like silk when I used the conditioner but it was making my hair come out no matter how gentle I was. I would even brush my hair before shampooing and condtioning. This happens with other conditioners defending on brand and ingredients. I wouldn't buy it again because of that reason but I don't hate the brand. Plus no brand will give two people the same results. I used the citrus Yao So scent was great on a plus. My hair is color treated too

Ohhh good question- I looked into that! My hair wasn't showing all of the signs of protein overload though. Still, the clarifying shampoo helped and I added in some moisture with a deep conditioner- there's so much to learn about what TYPE of moisture (i.e. if protein overload happens, opt out of anything with coconut oils evidently)?! I've since gone back to my Evolvh products and hair is MUCH happier. There may be a way to alternate between both so I can avoid the weighing down and still use up these bars! Thanks for mentioning this- such a great point to consider. 💜

I have been using the "Terrace Garden" shampoo & conditioner bars for 4 months now & I have nothing but good to say! The reason I switched is because I loved the idea that there was no chemicals or sulfates, and I wanted to try something more natural. I had very fine, thin hair and dry skin & scalp. Another plus is that there is no plastic packaging. Anyway, three months in & I noticed I have NEW HAIR GROWTH all along my hairline and the crown. This was just a wonderful surprise that I was not expecting. I used to get red itchy bumps all over my scalp no matter what kind of shampoo and conditioner I used, which were salon products the majority of the time, but now my scalp is clear. I did notice my hair feeling a bit dryer at first but now I make sure to really saturate the conditioner bar into my hair, mid shaft to ends, and even leave it in for 5 minutes. Now its silky and shiny. I also have recently bleached my hair and dye on a regular basis. So usually when I wash my hair, with salon sulfate free, color treated shampoo, I normally would see alot of color bleed (I like to dye with bold colors like pink & red), but when I use the Viori, I notice much less color loss. Also.. I wash my hair every 3rd day and a bar of shampoo lasts me more than 3 months! I still have half the conditioner bar after 3 months. If you go on their autoship they cost like $14!! I also got the body wash. I decided to try it out on my face as I have very sensitive skin & cannot use most soaps and cleansers. I use a soft face brush and swirl it around on the bar of soap, then in circles on my face, then rinse. Well my face has cleared up, no more dry patches and red irritated bumps! My face does not feel tight and dry. I would invest in the bamboo holders as they keep the bars dry and not wasting away in water like in a regular soap dish. They are stackable too. I got the bamboo comb as well and I like to comb my hair BEORE I rinse the conditioner bar out. This is a great tip if you have fine thin hair like me :) I am not affiliated with Viori in any way lol

This is about what happened to me. I have low porosity wavy hair (unusual I know) but after about a month or so I started having a very difficult time detangling my hair, eventually it was so sticky I couldn't run my fingers through my dry hair if I flipped it over my shoulder, it had no glide at all. Never experienced anything like it. Had to use strong clarifying shampoo to restore my hair to brushable. I have very soft water here, so this is really the shampoo and or conditioner that is building up on the hair itself, I can't imaging what would happen if harder water was involved, probably would have been a disaster in 3-4 washes instead of several weeks. Anyone whose hair isn't very porous and doesn't do anything to their hair that would cause protein loss (I don't use a hair dryer, any hot tools or even products after conditioner) will probably end up with massive protein overload using this product because there is nowhere for it to go except to build up.

K I'm back and have looked at the ingredients. There is no soap in the shampoo bar that I can determine, the cleanser is sodium cocoyl isethionate? derived from coconut. There's cocoa butter in it which is more like a wax it is so hard. There's a vegetable source conditioner in the bar?😜 and sodium lactate from fermentation of sugar😜. A shampoo bar is made of soap which is made of good quality oils, water and sodium hydroxide and is very moisturizing, you don't need conditioner and it doesn't leave a residue. Might be interesting to try making a bar of real soap with that rice water though or would rice water be starchy 🤔.

I’ve never heard of hair falling out because it’s getting used to a product. Sounds more like a sign of irritation and your scalp saying don’t use this product on me. I would recommend Lush’s New shampoo bar it worked great with my fine hair and didn’t irritate my sensitive scalp. Helped with hair growth too.

I've been using this shampoo for about a year, I use the Terrace Garden because it's for people with a scalp with a dry scalp. My hair is already long (to my tailbone) and is fine and thick with a dirty blond color. I usually shed a lot when I shampoo, and also thorough the day, and I have seen less shedding since I started using it. This is the only conditioner bar that works for me. My hair needs less washing than other shampoos I've used, so I can go longer in between shampoos. Also, this is fantastic for traveling since I can use it during every wash while keeping volume and making it so I don't have to wash every day. My only downside is that I have to buy two shampoos for one conditioner and I feel the bars are so over fregranced. I have not noticed that my hair has grown, but I'm trying to maintain my healthy length and not grow.

So I also bought their shampoo bar and conditioner bar based off of all of the hype that it received online. I received mine this past Monday and tried it the same day. After the first used it left my scalp insanely itchy. I thought OK it’s just the first use I just need to get used to using it and this was just a normal reaction. I tried it again for the second time yesterday. The same thing happened again. An extremely itchy scalp and I woke up with a headache this morning on top of that. I reached out to the company to inquire about a refund. I thought it was interesting that they would want you to return used shampoo and conditioner bars. But I also would never purchase them again.

They mostly will test your bars of shampoo and conditioner to see what could possibly cause this. Any contamination etc run test and recheck their formula see what’s up. So I think it’s good they want you to return it to see if something was wrong with your product.
