Why did he pay the scaffolders when he had a contract with the roofer? for all he knows the scaffolder has pocketed the money and claiming payment from the roofer

Could be that the roofer didn’t pay the scaffolder from the £5.5k money the client had already paid, and the scaffolder was refusing to remove it until he got his money so the client thought he would just skip the roofer and pay the scaffolder direct. Then the roofer gets pissed because he was planning on keeping all the money and screwing over the client/scaffolder.

Shame, plenty of cameras /pictures to catch them in the act I think or threatening. Difficult one, see these on New sites where builders cause damage if there is a dispute. Dont pay them and tell the news too.

As a roofer i can tell you that was a cash job 100% Average house woukd be 15/20 k through the books . Either that or they are cowboys

Sadly the police are likely to only act sometime after the incident, and if the 'builder' is of that protected characteristic known for traveling the country and doing bad & improper jobs then he's probably out of luck. And he probably shouldn't even think about defending his property; the 'builders' can dissapear, he cannot and the police know where he lives.

Is this guy a barrister or what !? Breach of your Peace due to reasonable foreseeable harm. Section 127 of the Communications Act 2003 for menacing message. Blackmail/Cohersion under theft act 1968 section 21 The Police could arrest him on the spot for these.
