My Bumble BFF Experience: Do’s & Don’ts, Storytime & Helpful Tips

Making friends as an adult is hard, especially in a new country., I signed up for Bumble to help to change that and meet new people.
Is Bumble BFF a good way to make friends? YES and NO. Let me explain. I did make some good friends I still hang with now, and some people I blocked or avoided.
This video covers any questions you might have about the platform, finding friends on it and some tips I wish someone had told me before I started. You’ll have to sign up to see for yourself at the end of the day.

1. Be real in your bio (like for real)
2. Meet in Person/ Video Call
3. Have grace or be understanding to people’s situation
4. Be patient, the right friend will come
5. Take breaks from Bumble, it helps

After one of my besties passed, I didn't realize I was unintentionally pushing away potential new friends. People would ask/offer/invite and I wouldn't go. My other besties don't live where I am nor live close. I did have 2 people not take "no" for an answer when trying to be friends but also I met them before said bestie passed. I'm trying to make a conscious effort. Not AT ALL looking for dating, JUST friend-dates. I appreciate this video, houtibe University has what you need when you ask the right questions...took some sifting through but I found this vid. I'm a bit of an introvert + awkward, so it will be odd but I want to try.

Great video! But I’ve been on bumble bff for over a year now. Seems like the girls wanna talk, hang out once and then ghost you. No one wants to actually put in the effort to continue the friendships 🤷‍♀️ I’ve deleted my app 😅

Thanks for the video! I have been on it for two years and did manage to make friends and talk to a few of them to this day 😊. I was wondering how long you speak with a match before asking to hangout? And how long do you wait for them to respond before unmatching?

Happy to hear from a fellow Bumble user! I'm not a big fan of talking over text with new people, so I usually try to meet in person immediately. A lot gets lost in text and some aspects of your personality are better in person. It's also a great way to weed out people who just want to text and never take things further.

I just moved to a new city, and Bumble BFF could really help me. But for some reason I feel like friends that I met online aren’t “real” friends. Any suggestions on how to her rid of this feeling?

I feel you! It can be that way but friendship only starts to be real when both parties put in real effort to cultivate it. Some questions that have helped me, feel free to take it or leave it: 1. What does friendship mean to you at this stage of your life. Friendship doesn't stay the same at each stage or age of your life. Highs school and adult friendship are both enriching but both look different in support and love. 2. What are the characteristics you want in a friend and need to emulate in yourself to receive it. 3. Are you being picky about friendships, because as nice as someone maybe that might not be your friend just an acquaintance and that's okay. 4. Are you you're own friend, because friendship out off loneiness or boredom can lead to bad friend choices. Enjoy your own presence just as much as you seek new friends. Balance both. 5. Are you putting yourself in offline places to gain friendship. Bumble or online should not be your main source. Don't keep online too long, meet in person right away and see who clicks.

Yes, but it only works if you pay for the app. Better to use an app specifically designed for this.
