I did all the physical testing and got all the paper work for my cars rego renewal, paid and renewed the insurance, green slip etc but forgot the actual rego I was tired having just got back from 3 months in the UK. Reading advice online, normally you would write a letter saying ooops I'm terribly sorry you can see I did all the other stuff its not like I was avoiding doing it and you would get a 'Dont do it again or else' back and the fine would be cancelled. I did that and got a 'your fine is $700+ please pay here and do it pronto or else' When the state has paid out a bajillion dollars in 'income support' for all the out of work barristas, cafe staff, theatre actors, and other essential members of society they have to recover that money somehow.

Its a part of a larger plot to destroy small businesses. Because, like with everything else, including the coof, big businesses are barely affected, if affected at all. Why? Because they can afford it without even blinking. A "large" fine is chump change to them. Even if they were made to pay it, they would make it back within a day or less. And the government knows it, and does nothing to change it. Meanwhile, mega corporations are getting all the extra business because theres nowhere else to go. And these corporations, strangely enough, juuuust so happen to be politically aligned with the politicians who are allowing this to happen. The same politicians who also juuuust so happen to take political donations from the CEOs of said corporations and their lobbyists. Its all a work.

To answer some common questions: a) I have already emailed & called, and I patiently await a reply... b) You can't re-renew with a 13 month old PIN if you already renewed. c) You can't show up in person without an appointment. d) Appointments are only granted by means of contact that don't reply. e) Yes I have two other licenses that AREN'T expired, but those are useless, they are for selling laptops, not fixing laptops, which I don't do anymore anyway after the city was unable to give me a straight answer on how to do so without being fined: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5qbkGyNfNBmhc0 - I need this license in the video to be able to actually do repairs. f) Just listen to this. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5qbkGyNfNBmhc0 This is what I am dealing with. After 15+ minutes and being transferred to two people, they can't answer a basic question about a rule they fined me for breaking that they can't even explain. *They never emailed or called me back, which has been the behavior I have come to expect over the past nine years.* *I am serious, if you work for the city and have any way of applying my 13 month old payment to this license renewal, you have the gratitude of myself & 14 of my employees who will get to continue paying their rents, mortgages, & food bill for their kids.* In spite of what people think, I am not a millionaire. If I'm forced to close - I can't afford to pay these people. I do not want that to happen. _I am not meming, I never get responses to DCA emails - not 3 months ago, not for NINE YEARS, and I don't expect to be able to now. Since I cannot sort this out in person due to the COVID closures, this channel is my only hope of reaching someone who can help me sort this out._ *Thank you.*

I think New York city is just too big to be governed efficiently. Cities grew because of economies of scale but those economies aren't infinite. There's a time where things are just too complex to be run efficiently by a central government. It seems as if NYC needs to have regional devolution and bring back services closer to the people it's meant to serve. As it is, the local central government has too much power for an incompetent administration. The city leaders pay too much attention to the big corporations, and not enough to what we call SMEs - small and medium enterprises that employ less than a hundred people. They are the real backbone of any Capitalist economy. If they are forced out of business through negligence of government, the consumer will suffer.

I know this isn't nearly the same in regards to dealing with a business or government body... Tho small similarities to it on the most minor of scales. Months ago when I had met up with a friend to pick up some parts in their local area.. Easier to deal with them than you go through online services that never get back to you.. That's beside the point. Can't enter the store to buy anything.. Ok buy online collect in person oh but wait can't collect till the final hour the store is open for even tho it's been open for business from 09:00AM - 18:00PM.. Got there slightly early.. Refuse to hear anything told to go away for a while... Fine go try to order a coffee/Tea for my friend & I... We can't we're standing right their but told in broken English thru a mask muffling it further "No no orders.. Must order app!" Huh... Ok after getting that across even eventually even tho broken english, muffled voice & them refusing to allow us near the counter.. App installed.. Account made.. Oh wait now.. The app is bust & won't allow you to order "please try later" I show them that after try multiple times.. They just get with "can't order, most use app! You away!"... Safe to say a business that I'll never deal with if when they can't deal with you in person but for you to use an online service but said service is also bust (still is to this day) then tell you to get lost rather than doing the normal thing.. Talking & dealing with a service as simple as that in person when your online system is bust & said system was only put in place due to people being scared of this dumb mess... I don't blame the employee.. Tho when everything is bust not the best idea to shout at people rather than ask calmly..

It's a whole chain of courts specialized to handle issues with the execution of state/federal/public power. Some quick googling tells me this is an invention of the 1800s, and e.g. the UK has only recently been expanding its variant of this. Maybe this is something the USA needs to Ctrl+C Ctrl+V? That's the kind of A-hole that is way to rare and that we need a lot more of. I've had a few friends who suffer by this kind of mentality, and it can be trying at times, but at large they are good people to know and work with. One of those was the kind that could not stand by if someone was harassing someone else. Case in point was the time he noticed a woman on the subway that was uncomfortable as some punks were getting in her face. It was in the middle of the afternoon and perhaps forty people in the subway car, fifteen of whom were some kind of gang wearing colors and acting like monkey hopped up on crack. My friend shoots out and rushes the entire length of the subway car, stabs his finger in the dudes chest and roars that he better go sit down and leave the lady alone as she's not interested in having anything to do with him or his friends. He was 17, slight of build, was untrained and absolutely had no idea of fighting. The dude he dressed down was a punk in his twenties, tattooed all over and with the hole gang laughing and cheering him on. I and two more friends just looked at each other and walked over to at least offer some kind of show of support, though we were no older, none of us had any fighting experience and only one of us had any kind of training, and that was school level Judo. I have no idea how the hell we got out of there without getting into a fight, and it wasn't the last time he did something like that. That he never got beaten to a pulp is a mystery as he had no sense of self preservation in situations like this. You could argue that he was an idiot, but at the same time he shamed all of his friends into at least consider to take action in bad situations like this. I sometimes think about what he would do in some situation, shudder and try to figure out some way to defuse the situation while staying alive. Yea, I've got some survival instinct, so sue me...

It was just an administrative judgement that they wanted to stop offering the service we provided to their end customers. I felt like my loyalty was being rewarded with complete disregard. BUT it ends well, the local management went to bat, reporting that the service I provided out of the local office was extremely popular with customers, that I was under high demand, and that it would severely and negatively impact their office overall if I was to be let go. If a foreign chemical company looks for a location to set up a polluting factory, they can get the exemptions and licenses from governments that live up a stream of water. If the factory exceeds pollution limits or causes a disaster, the local government usually doesn't sense the same if any impact compared to the municipalities living downstream. But they can issue the fines to collect revenue, and pull off astronomic damage settlements. A foreign company that's allowed to >but choses not to< pollute, or run risk; is a missed revenue opportunity. See this as an extension of just flat-out paying to be allowed to pollute. Like carbon-credits. DuPont, Philip Morris, Bayern, Shell, BP, Tata, DOW, Sabic & many others have lawyers and execs that are loaded with cash to still run those old-fashioned risks. But their engineers are silently choosing to build closed systems where pollutants don't exit via air or waste water. I see a divide in the ethics between the technicians and those in power.

They think corporations will replace the small businesses, but those corporations will be laughing as they keep all their profits in offshore tax havens, and not move in at all. See, the thing about evil people is that they always stab each other in the back. I bet the corporations' plan is to simply get everyone to buy their stocks, because that will be the only way anyone will be able to make a living in the USA anymore. They will be at the mercy of the corporations' success or failures, and market manipulations. At the end, the governments that sold us out won't have anything either, because you can't tax stocks (theoretically).

If this is the case then they are betting on the WORST odds because if all these small businesses die on top of all the other crap the past year has wrought then that's it the population hits 0 the people head for greener pastures and the city is DEAD. Try selling property to corporate when there's no population to employ. In a city that won't get enough cash from selling the property to maintain its self in the absence of taxpayers. Corporate will try to worm out of most taxes so that's not a viable source. Maybe just MAYBE the city could work out a deal to basically selling themselves to the Corp BUT that will last all of a few days as by then somebody (maybe government maybe militia idk) decides that good ol'NYC governing body and all should have EVERYTHING in common with an ancient ruin
