She explained very well. In 1996 i was told i had ovarian cancer because of high ca 125 and a swollen belly full of fluid. I was told to agree to an appendectomy and hysterectomy but they had not confirmed if i had cancer or not before surgery. So i only agreed to the tumor removal. Turned out i had an ovarian cyst and a fibroid growing on a stalk outside my uterus attached to my peritonium! The fibroid and cyst were removed and i had no cancer. Ca 125 went back to normal. I also got clots in my leg after and a clot in my lung before surgery. Never had a problem after.

I worked with a lady who had this rare appendix cancer also about 20 years ago, she is alive doing well and getting ready to retire. There were only 2 hospitals in the United States at that time that preformed the surgery she needed and she went to the hospital that was about a 6 hour drive. I don’t remember them removing all the organs like they did with you but they did scrape and wipe down internally with chemo and then poured chemo in her abdomen and rolled her mechanically on a table for a long time, to wash her insides. Whatever they did, she has lived, she saw her children and grandchildren grow up and about 20 years of life that they really didn’t give her much hope without the procedure. Medicine has come a long way - I wish you the best - I hope your healing goes smooth and quickly and life treats you the best- you so deserve it after going through this so gracefully! Many prayers

My daughter had appendix cancer, she did have pain and they took it seriously. She did have thyroid cancer about 6 yr ago, two types so she was treated with radiation and multiple nodes were removed along with the thyroid. The cancer in her appendix was a "hormonal" type that they said had migrated from her thyroid nodules. During a total hysterectomy 4 yr ago, there were no signs of cancer. She is still at a greater risk of other cancers now even though scans show nothing and the cancer in the appendix seemed to be isolated. Crazy word, when cancer starts as cellular changes that can't be seen.

This is such an uplifting story. My sister suffered for many years from this disease at a time before it was understood or even classified as a cancer. @@fayelouise7113, I'm really not certain. She had already battled breast cancer and a reoccurrence for that cancer when she was diagnosed with appendix cancer. Her appendix cancer was very advanced at the time she was diagnosed. She was in her mid 60's when she was diagnosed and her immune system was diminished from prior chemo treatments. Like every cancer, each person's journey is different. My husband battled a rare cancer (Follicular Dendritic Cell Sarcoma) and was later diagnosed with Leukemia. I've battled stage IIIC Colon cancer, myself. All you can do is make the very best decision you can make at the time you need to make the decision. Take care of yourself and a positive attitude goes a long way to making you feel mentally strong.

I had a HIPEC surgery in 2016 for the same cancer. My appendix was removed 3 months prior and two different hospitals determined I had the same cancer. My abdominal cavity was filled with the mucin. During the HIPEC surgery it was discovered ALL the mucin cancer was gone. I had many people praying for me and God answered the prayers. Unfortunately my surgeon made a mistake. I have had to have all my small and large intestines removed and my bladder. When God heals from cancer, it never returns. I’m expecting a creative miracle from Him. I thank God for the doctors, but my life is in The Lord’s hands, not man’s.

@@fayelouise7113 I was treated in Portland, Oregon. The surgeon thinks she touched my transverse colon with a hot cautery tool that created a blister. After I was sewn back up it burst. This was discovered three weeks later when I was very ill and went to the emergency. Unfortunately, they didn’t do another surgery to fix it for fifteen months and so much damage was done.

Thank You for sharing your experience,it's very much appreciated 💕...I've just been diagnosed with Uterine Canver(a very aggressive form)..undergoing "scans" now(to see if it has 'spread' to other organs) before the hysterectomy AND to see if I'll be having chemotherapy before surgery as well as chemotherapy & radiation, afterwards.. Yours is only the second video I've watched. Even though the 'type' of cancer you experienced is very different from mine,I'm finding reassurance and knowledge from your video..Thank You again,I'll keep you in my prayers💕🙏🙌✝️🕊

Wow! Thank you for sharing your story. I’ve had breast cancer and have had a double mastectomy and ovaries removed as I carry the BRCA1 gene mutation. In addition to being at risk of lots of other cancers, peritoneal cancer is another I’m at risk of. Seeing as your mum also had bowel cancer, do you mind me asking about your genetic testing and results? Wishing you continued NED. xx

If not treated on time this can lead to having what's called the motherload of all surgeries. It's when the organs are scrubbed and it takes hours and hours. I cared for someone who had it and they're doing great many years later.

@@fayelouise7113 It's going to take several years before you can relax and not think about it daily. I'm also a cancer survivor and while it doesn't go away, it gets easier over time. The stats are in your favour which means you can lead a long, healthy life. My relative was an extreme case, so much so that surgeons came just to watch the operation. She runs circles around me now.
