I’ve been battling stage 4 metastatic breast cancer since 2014. I lost my long hair after my 2nd chemo treatment. No one understood me when I said “my hair hurts”. Just barely touching my scalp made me flinch. Thank you for sharing your journey. I’ll be on treatment the rest of my life. Every 3 weeks and PET Scans every 3-4 months. I keep my hair short now because it’s easier to manage. You’re beautiful and may God bless you always 🙏🏼🦋💜

I couldn't help feeling how genuine, thoughtful and kind you are! I have to tell you it is so palpable that I could easily feel like you are not only speaking to me but anyone would love to be your friend! You honestly not only shared your initial fears, by showing your before and after pictures, but you are showing anyone going through this some obstacles that can become present and how to manage or jump over them! Thank you for demonstrating and being so transparent even when like you said, you don't feel well somedays as well. You are inspiring and so up beat! I have been a Registered Nurse for 34 years now in New York and share your heart for doing anything to help everyone! I have seen and been around long enough to see so much. i know that we are made up of body, mind and spirit. so that being said we should take care of all three of them that make us one whole person. I am also a woman of prayer so that I will hold you up in my daily prayers until you are healed! we all have a story to share.....keep us posted and know I look forward to seeing more videos .... .....just remember this is only a chapter in your beautiful story book! huge hugs to you!

Not knowing you prior to your chemo, I naturally have no idea what you looked like. This is the first video by you that I have watch. Believe it or not you are really attractive with a bald head. You have a great personality and attitude. I am here because I have had issues for 24 years and returned an abnormal pap test last month. I have been under a gynie/oncologist review the entire time. I have had excisions along the way which have kept everything at bay . At present, I am waiting for the results of two biopsies that were taken last week. I am preparing for the worse, for the first time. I have always believed if you expect the worse, it may not be so bad. I do know that being informed does make life easier. So thanks for all your tips and all the best. I live in Australia btw.

@@DeeDoherty Thanks for taking the time to get back to me. I shouldn't have said anything but the anxiety is building up. I was told last week that the tests would take eight to ten days. Tomorrow is Sunday and day six. They said a Registrar would call me with the results. Right from the start last week, my appointment had originally booked for 3.20pm. Until I got a phone call to get in as soon as I could, I was able to get there by 1pm and everything was over by 2.45pm. So unlike you, I have been prioritised, mind where I live now which is a different State to where this journey started, I have been getting reviewed annually at his hospital for eleven years. I have had four previous excisions but they were all external, this is internal for the first time. From past episodes, if it is precancerous it will mean surgery immediately and of course if it is cancer, then I guess I will be running on hospital time for awhile. Regardless, I only live ten minutes from the hospital. I do know more about the cancer journey than most as i nursed my mother through her malignant parotid tumour, eight years ago. She had a shocking time at 77 but she is a survivor, so far. Cheers and again, thanks for your time. How are you going with your journey? I really hope you are in full remission and stay there.

hi Dee, thankyou so much for this video, i just watched it, i know its from 2018 and i sincearly hope that you are well now and enjoying your life! we are going through this at the moment, i am supporting a loved one, she was devastated about losing her long blond beautiful hair but is using cold caps and though has lost quite a bit, because it wasnt done properly at the clinic, unfortunately they have no experience with cold capping here!...she has just has her 2nd chemo and still has quite a lot of hair, at least much more than i think she would have had without the cold capping.....personally i think women look just beautiful in the hair scarves and caps, there are so many very pretty things you can wear on your head and even without, people look just fine with no hair....we have to stop hiding cancer and chemo because its not something to be ashamed about and we should be more open about it, especially as so many people are suffering.....again, thankyou for the very upbeat video, positivity is everything and honesty about the side effects is the only way to go....bless you

I pray you all a safe and speedy recovery. My father (daddy), got Burkitts lymphoma cancer and he’s had sooo many procedures done lately.😩😭 He has had two biopsy’s, a port put in his chest, the next day he had a bone marrow biopsy. And yesterday he got admitted to the hospital in order to have his chemotherapy and a spinal chemotherapy today. Yesterday was his first chemotherapy, I live in Phoenix, and nobody can be with him in the hospital, since all of this coronavirus is happening. So my Mama, is sad at home, she’s always with him, they have 45 years married, so it’s very hard seeing them go through all of this and I’m 7 hours away. Please help me with any advice, I don’t want my daddy to die. I need him so much. I’m a daddy’s girl, 38 year old. And I love him so much. God bless you all battling with cancer. Many blessings. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🤍🤍🤍🤍💚💚💚💚💚

Thanks for your video. I’ve been through a couple rounds of chemo this year and had a bone marrow transplant. I found it it interesting you explaining about the exfoliater, I just ordered one online so when I get home I could use it but I didn’t think about it irritating my skin.

I am recovering well from the lumpectomy and the sentinel node biopsy :) The good news is there is no cancer in the three nodes that they extracted and surgery had negative margins, so no more surgery required :D. My chemo begins 4 weeks after 27th September, so as of now waiting for that. Thank you so much for checking in with me

Super helpful. Starting Chemo therapy this week for the first time and now I have my shopping list. I loved your description of cutting or shaving your head before the hair starts falling out because emotionally as well as feeling sick, you did not have the band width to deal with it later. I will take this advice.
