I just want to let you know that at 30:10 you mention if you discard Junji then I wouldn't get the death trigger if I chose to reanimate him. that's not true as the exile effect from Rivaz happens after Junji dies, it's not a replacement effect. d00mwake has been very high on a Proft's Eidetic Memory deck like this in Standard recently. 1:02:23 An interesting option I learned about recently via a Jim Davis video is running some copies of Deduce. Cracking a Clue turns on Revolt for Fatal Push, and otherwise it's just a Think Twice which is perfect for this sort of deck.

Pretty sure the opponent on Match 2 used Rimrock Knight at sorcery speed so that the Picnic ruiner would get double strike with the attack trigger :p They need the extra pump to reach 4 power

this deck looked so fun i re-installed arena to build and play it. after a year of not playing, i had like 30 packs and used all my mythics and rares for 4x proft, 4x steamcore scholar, 2x sheoldred, and a few lands. i also adapted the deck for standard, as standard is a little more appealing to me than pioneer. honestly, the deck slaps! i didn't have enough rares for ledger shredder, so i went with 2x sheoldred and 2x snarling gorehound in the mainboard instead. standard also doesn't have treasure cruise, so i went with 4x thirst for discoveries instead, which worked out because my mana base was so budget (definitely lost a few games due to color screw). sheoldred also felt really really good in the mainboard, you get so much value out of drawing cards already, and gaining absurd amounts of life helped me stabilize against aggro on multiple occasions and come from behind for a win. after getting run over by mono red/go wide aggro, i also included 2x deep-cavern bats in the mainboard for hand disruption and as another evasive creature that has the upside of gaining life in the early game to help stay alive until the engine is running. also included this little, off-the-wall sweeper called malicious eclipse, which won me the game on many occasions and helped facing mono-red and weenie soldiers on the play more winnable--it often was a one-sided wipe against go wide decks. i struggle a lot against the new deck with insidious roots because i don't have access to good enchantment removal/no mainboard wipes (not enough rares for a good one). however, within less than a week of playing, i just hit platinum! the deck is so fun! archidekt.com/decks/7243783/proft

This is a pretty sweet deck! Something like couple of “ominous seas” might be a fun addition to the deck as extra payoffs for drawing so much since you only have 4 copies of “Proft's Eidetic Memory.”

Heads up for the person who does the deck tech title card thing-y - you might want to have a back-up font for the player name when it comes from A Small Japanese Tournament, because the font you normally use doesn't support kanji. Still... cute deck. I like it.

I don't understand why this deck even has black in it. Sure, Thoughtseize is nice and spot removal is usually helpful, but a suite of counterspells could have kept all those huge threats off the table in the first place. The only card that plays into the theme and requires black is Evangel of Synthesis, but you can't tell me there's not a 2 mana blue creature that could replace it.

So i been runing this enchantment in illuminator virtuoso decks and you need inspired idea if youre playing standard bc of the enchantment static ability of having no max handsize means you dont care about the cleave portion of the inapired idea saying your max hand size being reduced by 3..... Virtuoso really really pushes how far memory can go especially with the spell that youre using to target it should be blessed defiance granting you 2npower and lifelink then if you discarded a nonland card 1 power from connive and then 1 power from memeory (5 power lifelink doublestrike) and then things get really spicy when youre able to cast more than one spell especially with ledger shredder in play ive considered adding red to get haste from angel fire ignition or felonious rage.... Bit i havent gotten that far yet..... Inspired idea is a 3 mana treasure cruise with edetic memory in play

I’ve been playing an izzet version of this in alchemy and standard with otters, with stormcaster mentor you cast Pearl of wisdom for 1 and the other draw 2 for 1U discard unless you attacked cause its an otter and makes I and S cost 1 less it’s busted you get them -R 1/1 otter that’s perpetually gets +1/+1 for non creatures cards cast and can turn creatures in to 1/1s no abilities for 1U as an adventure. The 1/3 otter with prowess and vig that loots and can copy spells is sweet as a blocker against Argo and keeps you getting gas. You have a R sorcery that does 3 to a creature or planeswalker has flash if you’re on the play there’s 2 different U 1/1 prowess otters ones on a level up that’s returns a I or S for 3u and 5u copy called storm chasers talent you also got the new Ral that makes 1/1 prowess otters and draws 3 discards 2 with profts it’s wild I do turn 3 9 damage with 2 3/3s in board a lot which is crazy
