So glad you made a video on CX premium economy/ economy on HKG- SIN route. I've flow this route 5 times and as a regular user of CX to and from Asia, it's such a game changer now that CX has stepped upped their game with their new A350-1000/900 aircraft. Sadly, as my home base ( JFK), the seats will get a bit tighter when 3-4-3 configuration in Y class will become reality one day. Keep up the great work!

I love your candid dialogues with two Cathay flight attendants, they asked you whether they needed to smile in front of your camera. It made Cathay Pacific put on a true Hong Kong style of excellent aviation services. I can imagine that most of your flight shotting didn't need to go through airline's PR. Loved to hear your comments on economy class products! I have taken Cathay Premium Economy on a long haul on a 777 from HKG-JFK-HKG recently in 2017 and these flights had a different and slightly better menu on Premium compared to Economy. Made the 14 plus hour flight actually quite decent.

Biggest waste of money I’ve ever spent. Did 4 flights. Offered sparkling wine the first leg Juice only on the second leg Water only on the third leg NOTHING at all on the fourth leg. Seats barely bigger, food pretty much the same as economy Economy toilets Honestly- for double the money- don’t bother

I flew from DUB to SYD and back via HKG in economy on Cathay last month and I thought it was excellent especially the A350-900 between Dublin and Hong Kong. Really good seat with a massive screen! It made their 777 seem fairly average...

Just got back from HK a few weeks ago. Flew Cathay for the first time. While I’ve only flown a handful of international carriers (us citizen) I’d have to say that Cathay definitely impressed me in economy. Flew CX885 and CX884. The flight crew was awesome and even took the time to make us a list of things we had to do. It’s the extra things like this that make a memorable trip, especially your first one on airline and destination.

Cathay Pacific is my second favorite airline for flying economy behind Emirates. I think Cathay Pacific has the best food and service out of all the airlines I've been on. I like Emirates a little better because they fly larger airplanes (Cathay flies all wide bodies too but the largest plane they fly is the 777) therefore there's more space to move around in the cabin. Personally I like Dubai, Doha, or Hong Kong airports over Changi because they seem more spacious and practical. I will agree that Terminal 4 is quite ascetically pleasing however the other older terminals are not as nice. Terminal 4 does a great job with integrating nature and light into it which I will agree would make it a nicer airport than any of those. However, Terminal 4 does not represent the airport as a whole. Also I like how Hong Kong and Doha are just one terminal which easy to navigate. I love the travel vlog and keep flying Sam! Hopefully I'll see you on a flight sometime!

Sam you are at the top of your game ! I have flown Melbourne to London on SQ in Premium economy and it was dreadful! CX product looks much better but like you I would eat in the lounge before being served an economy meal. Great review again and its great to see Sam Chui is a man of the people flying economy albeit on a short haul flight! Keep em coming Sam!!

Sam, you are lucky! I have been traveling with CX and KA a lot, the Pier lounges are nice but the problem for CX and KA are the inconsistency of services. I have been with very rude crew and the terrible equipments on the A350. Yesterday flight to NRT, my PEY seat earphone jack is actually broken, A350-900, a 2.2 years old plane! Their maintenance is really bad. The only reason I am still flying CX is because I am based in HK and they have the best time slot for me to go on trip. I hope you can review their first class and business class, their first class is not worth what you are paying for compare to Middle East airlines or Other 5 stars, hardware is old. Same as business too, over pricing! But the CX lounges in HK is great, especially pier. Hope to see you in some one world flight in the future

Just returned from a 10day solo trip to Malaysia & Singapore. While KLIA was good, Changi was surreal!! Flew on Malaysia Airlines. Happy with service, on-time performance, good vegetarian Hindu meal.

As a native Hongkonger... we are proud to have our own airline, cathay pacific. It is not as good as before... but we will still support it. After flying many airlines, especially the crappy american ones like UA and AA, CX is like a dream... but if u compare it with ANA... CX still has room for improvement.

Premium Economy is double the price of a economy ticket for us Australians flying Cathay Pacific. So looking at getting the same food as economy?? You have to seriously weigh up the costs of what essentially is a small bit of legroom is worth double the price of standard economy ticket. Oh and get the same meal as economy.

@@Yassaganni That is a fair question to ask. For me (as an Aussie) In the last 20 years I have flown a lot to Asia and the Middle East - all in economy. My last holiday I flew PE to Tokyo return. PE made a big difference for me enjoying the flights - the extra leg space and personal space - the bigger monitors and foldout tables that can handle the weight and size of a laptop. At the end of each flight I left the plane still feeling good, physically and mentally and not feeling drained and cramped like I do when I fly in economy. I agree - the meal/s in PE are not good enough for the extra money paid. There is no reason why PE could not get a choice of two BC meals for the price paid. Let's face it - a BC meal would be worth no more than $50 in a restaurant. Another feature flying PE is your suitcase gets a priority sticker - the same as BC so you are able to collect your suitcase first. In Tokyo they take all priority cases off the conveyor and group them for easy pick up - except Melbourne Airport which is a dogs breakfast and a disgrace for all.

Flew the same class. They don't give you that much food. Polite in telling you the meal selection you want is not available. Was starving the entire trip. Snack tray all raids by others. They gave this empty tray on the meal that I don't understand what for? Sad flight I say. Cherrs
