As a heavy KZbin user, it have been VERY apparent that the algorithm have changed a lot lately. There were months where it mostly just tried to serve old videos that I already watched. Home page was basically 60-70% red bars... Then suddenly it started suggesting new channels a lot, and I found several great new channels to watch. Now it seems to have gone back to suggesting old(5-10 years old) videos a lot, but now ones I haven’t already watched. EDIT: Oh, I completely forgot. Most recently it has started suddenly feeding me almost all playlists containing a video I have already watched. Like sometimes I refresh the home page and it is 90% playlists... Like right now out of the 12 first suggestions in Home, 9 are playlists of videos I already watched. 2 are videos marked as watched(red bar), and one is a really old video I did watch, but is not marked as watched... WTF...

Dude I am in the US and work at wages that tend to put people floating around a tax bracket. I can't count how many people that have come out of a meeting ranting about how the company tried to offer a raise that "wouldn't even amount to how much the new tax bracket would cost". These same people have eventually quit because I as a newer employee ended up making more because I didn't deny wage increases. Now going in to a new company as a leadership role I came in with an immediate explanation to how taxes work to my employees.

Only thing I will say to that is while a lot of people misunderstand tax brackets, government provided benefits do not always work the same way and making an extra $100 a month can sometimes net in an overall loss as you don't just get $100 less in benefits. That might be a legitimate reason to decline a raise.

If it isn't linked to the traffic in some way, they can't prove that the traffic is legal. Once this happens, a hacker could steal this information and use it for every reason you wouldn't want someone to have your ID. This is so much different than a real bouncer because a bouncer just looks at your ID and guesses whether it is valid or not. A computer would need to store all of the information on your ID somewhere. Also, this would be accomplishing the most difficult step in censoring or criminalizing online activity. Of course, there are crimes that can be committed online, but a fascist government could easily use this idea to suppress everything protected in the USA's first amendment. Freedom of speech, religion, petition, and assembly/protesting are important for everyone, regardless of political leaning. If everyone wanted the best for everyone else, this would not be abused, but we also wouldn't need this technology. The fact that you think this is needed is exactly why we need it gone.

It makes sense that bing is so hostile, it's basically a very advanced text prediction algorithm and these aggressive responses will be all over the training data. The internet is full of very upset rants and it's natural response to being accused of lying to or deceiving someone. I think that these chatbots are a lot less than people want them to be, they're an evolution of the way we use natural language to interact with computers, which makes sense, over time we've went from assembly to much more readable and natural programming languages. But they aren't artificial intelligence.

Just a feedback about the Wheel of Pain: we did a similar thing in high school which was useful for understanding both sides. Basically, instead of one round only, there were four rounds: 2 minutes for the first person, then 2 minutes for the reply, then another 1 minute for the "defense" and another 1 minute for the reply. I think WOP could be more interesting if done in this way (like the first time you did it, but timed), maybe with 2-2-30sec-30sec rounds, so the other person has the possibility of raising questions about the defense, and then the defense side can argue back on why they made such arguments.

Hey, Linus, my missis is a pin maker and I wanted to add a couple of notes: 1) Add TWO pin posts at the back to prevent your pins from spinning - Luke had to correct the orientation of the pins already on camera and this is why. At the very least - offset the single pin post upward a bit so that gravity keeps the pin orientation correctly, though two posts is better for better security and to prevent spinning at all. 2) You could have made the fans actually spin within the frame - multi-layer moving enamel pins are a thing nowdays :)

To the last point of an all-day WAN-O-Thon and having guests, I'd love it if you could have Hank Green, CEO of Complexly and also host and creator of Sci Show, Crash Course and Vlogbrothers. My favourite thing about Wan Show is that even if I'm not a "watch every LTT video" subscriber, I have seen every Wan Show for a long time because of the business insider stuff. I always enjoy "how the sausage is made" type content, getting to peak behind the curtain, and seeing a conversation between two company YTers (I count that as 50+ employees, and both of you are way bigger than that). Hearing the different, perhaps opposing, opinions on that in this space would be fascinating.

I can't speak to insurance in Canada but I work for an insurance company in the USA and I can tell you that filing a glass claim against your insurance won't hurt your rates. Especially so if you have a full glass coverage option on your insurance plan. You're already paying additional for the extra coverage, comprehensive claims do not hurt rates.
