Welcome aboard, Joe. Erik here :) When we chose the K-1 visa route back in 2022, we had to choose between the K-1 ( I-129F) and the spousal ( I-130). The spousal visa was much cheaper because the green card, Work permit, and EAD was all included in the process, but we chose the more expensive fiance path, even though we had to pay for all of those things seperately, because they said it was faster. Now, however, they are both taking just as long, and the immigration fees are going to become even more costly beginning Apr 1st. With the wait times being equal between the two visas and the fiance visa becoming MUCH more expensive than the spousal visa, it might be a much better option to marry and then file for the I-130 instead. The best place to monitor current trends and wait times is on a site called VisaJourney.com. Its what we used to do our process DIY and theres no costs or fees for anything there. Its a great community of fellow couples going through the various processes and sharing info along the way. Wish you the best of luck. Keep us updated on your process. :)

Same tau 221g din ako dahil hndi pa dumating ung HKP ko but after a week ng interview ko tumawag na Ang Us embassy na need ko na padala passport ko sa kanila Kaya eto happy na Ang ferson hehe ok lang yan na ma 221g ka basta Sikapin m na maisubmit m lahat ng requirments na kulang sayo…

I believe when you leave for ANY reason, you have to pay travel tax

USCIS will want certified copies of police records if he answered yes to those questions on the 129F form. If he has no police records though and answers no, then he shouldn't need to worry about it. We went ahead and got certified statements from the police departments from the towns where I lived in the past saying I have no records there. After the NVC stage, it all becomes about the beneficiaries records. We followed the general rule, " Its better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it" when it came to what records to send and we sent anything they may ask for, just in case.
