This is my challenge to any U.K. based Adam Mizner students. Can you push hands with me and make me hop around, jump on the floor or fly through the air like your teacher does? Or are you poor students/the victim of a poor teacher? No violence needed. We can go as gently as you want. Let’s get to the truth.

Suggestion: take a page from Emin Boztepe (from 1986 - look him up) and go to one of Adam's seminars to test out a student or Adam himself in person instead of issuing a ridiculous challenge to build your channel from their notoriety. The onus is on YOU to prove that they are full of crap since what they do bothers you so much. A much better idea would be for you to go join an MMA gym where your ego might get reduced. Then you won't care what Mizner does at all; you'll focus on yourself instead of calling out others.

I have trained very rigorous grappling for several decades but feel that I’m missing an internal component and am researching different lineages in the Aiki world. I am extremely confident in my ability to yield and redirect pressure against strong BJJ opponents, using principles from judo, Daito Ryu, aikido, and tai chi. However, there are some lineages of Daito Ryu where the videos look so fake, and the training partners fall/dive in what seems like the opposite direction of where physics says they should go. I don’t buy it…but I’m willing to find those who practice and test their abilities. Like you, I’m assuming I’ll walk away un-enlightened, but on the other hand I’ll hit the holy grail if I’m wrong 😂

AM produces, endorses and releases content that effectively says "I have mysterious qi powers that can make people collapse or fall a direction I'm not even pushing them in. First, why don't you invest the same energy or even less as creating a bragging video on the internet (of which we have too much already :) ) about him, to research a bit before you form a critique? Because he certainly doesn't sell any mysterious thing. You just don't listen, which is actually the case when one feels to attack someone else by any means and without research. You go to one of his seminars and try it out. Or he would haul ass because of a retard who is so disrespectful that he cannot even say his name right? Yeah right, explain that as well. I tell you something, I am not even coming from an English speaking country, but that name has Saxon/German/English origins obviously, goes without saying; and yes, I do think it's full retard or intentional to mispronounce it, no question. You don't understand why another human being thinks its funny when another tough guy is being tough on the internet? Well, I invite you to the club. Otherwise, I do Tai Chi, and thanks goodness at a pragmatic school. Granted, there aren't many in the world, and I do believe that 90% (or even more) of the stuff we see here in KZbin for example are BS. AM however does authentic, functional Yang style Tai Chi Quan. Since I have been practicing it for some time now, I can see the subtleties to distinguish BS from the real deal, and I can surely say he knows the martial aspects of the art which is mostly not found. But again: if you want to test it, you should put in the work, because a distasteful angry video won't do anything to prove it's point based not even on a little experience, only assumption.

Someone had to do it, but you're not the first. Anyway, from my experience in Judo (in the 70s), Kung Fu (in the 80s and 90s) and Taiji (since the 90s); I would say that from a video it's almost impossible to judge what is real and what is fake. In addition, what is real can appear fake and what is fake can appear real. The only way to know is to experience it for oneself. Aside from any real fighting application, which seems to be the only concern of "the fighters" out there, traditional martial arts offer a wider learning experience which should extend to enhance and transform someone's life. When one talks about fake, there is a whole media storm of fake, but this doesn't mean that everything that may appear to be fake is fake. The only way is to feel it for real. Having said all that, it must be taken into account that in most Taiji classes and workshops, there will always be a certain amount of complicitness between student and teacher, otherwise things could very quickly get out of hand and people will get hurt, often badly, usually the so-called "student". I have enough experience to know, that it would not be of any use to challenge or test someone like Adam. If it's not of any interest to you, or you doubt its authenticity, then you're free to decide what else you would prefer to study and practise. For the people that are interested, they will go and find out for themselves. There are plenty of examples of good and bad teachers of everything, but that doesn't mean they are good or bad at what they do. Some are good at teaching, yet lack some ability. Some have lots of ability but are not so good at sharing or communicating and transferring that ability to students. Keep an open mind, without being gullible nor judgemental.

That was an awful lot of writing to say so little. I’ll address the very few points you brought up. It’s quite clearly fake. There’s no ‘appearance’. You can’t change physics. Being ‘complicit’ and hopping around like an imbecile are two entirely different things. If you are pushing hands gently then there is no danger of anything ‘getting out of hand’. I would love to believe in magic. As I’ve said in every video on this, I’m more than willing to be as relaxed and gentle as they want me. I want to feel this magic. @@indefenceofthetraditionalma be that as it may, I didn't mention anything about magic. That's a term you are using. I did write too much, so I apologise for that. I do try to explain my point of view rather than just state it. You make some valid points and you are entitled to your opinion. Perhaps you might want to attend one of his workshops and see for yourself. It's unlikely that he, or anyone, would necessarily open up about what they do. Of the few genuine masters who I have known, they keep to themselves and focus on their own school and their own students. As a consequence of the internet and social media platforms like KZbin, we can now see a small part of what some people teach and practise, but it's a very small part. I understand you, and others, may think it's all fake and seek to prove it. Of course, you are welcome to try that approach, so good luck to you. Personally, I believe we can all learn far more by focusing on our own practice and not care much about what others do. It sounds like you're intrigued, even obsessed possibly, with what Adam is up to. That in itself must be a distraction for you, as are my long replies... To be saved from your doubts in the best way - through personal experience. And you don't need to explain what real combat looks like - I have enough experience on the subject. And, really, instead of trolling the internet, go find some of the people you challenge and give them a try. After all, you're the one who needs to prove something to yourself, not them. So you're on your way. They weren't looking for you (I'm guessing they don't even know you exist), and you're hardly the first person to advertise on the Internet behind their back. Be brave and go in person. :)

One broader comment seems important to make here. You seem to be claiming (in replies, not in your video) you have some background in Tai Chi Chuan and even compliment some people who have trained in such practice in Tai Chi, Bagua or XingYi--the three main "internal arts". Yet you haven't made clear your background and whether you know the difference between the body mechanics within a defensive system like Tai Chi and the internal power aspects that are built over time using Neigong, Chigong and other training systems in addition to extensive push hands and free form sparring. If you don't know what it feels like to engage with someone who has such internal power, then you haven't progressed very far. I was trained in Tai Chi Chuan forms, some Chigong and very little push hands until years later. I know very well that internal power looks fake to most people who have not actually felt it with someone who is capable. But there''s a big difference between healthy skepticism and degrading the practitioners whom you foolishly label fakers without having any relevant experience. That's a sign of both ignorance and disrespect.

This, of course, is not going to convince you or anyone else, but for what it worth: I was also skeptical just looking at the videos. For the context, I have been practicing tai chi for 10+ years by that moment and never-ever saw anything like this in real life, even though I attended some seminars of very respected teachers. I went to his workshop in Prague and (rather boldly) asked to push hands with me. He (justifiably) told me off first but then, later, he did come to me during the workshop. He is very real. It was qualitatively very-very different from anything I ever experienced during pushing hands practice. Again, I know you gonna say I am paid by him or hypnotized or whatever, so probably I am wasting my time, but this is how it is -- you don't know until you know.

I spoke to some guy that attended a couple of his seminars. He said the first time they pushed hands he was flying everywhere with the slightest touch. At the second seminar he attended (and after training in some combat sports) he decided to resist and suddenly he wasn’t flying with the slightest of touch. Adam made excuses to move on very quickly. People are open to suggestion, there are social pressures and we do hero worship our instructors. Even in combat sports, when instructors demonstrate using over enthusiastic students, it can look kind of similar. Students falling too easily or reacting unrealistically. The difference being that those coaches wouldn’t put that sort of footage online claiming them to be internal skills. You say I don’t know until I’ve experienced it, well, my experience is that these guys won’t reproduce it on camera with me kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqPXeKSbaZxgjNUsi=PH2oG5l1dasQ5ZkY

For the record I have nothing against you personally and I think you have the right to investigate test and even respectfully challenge. The problem I see as a martial artist with 37 years experience, is that you encourage the disrespect of traditional training. The man you are speaking about is 7th generation, that means something, and if you feel it’s bull shit then why do you even practice traditional Kung fu? Someone has to attain the levels we dream of and when we find one we should train how they train. I have offered this guy to come and learn this Saturday from me and/or have a friendly exchange of ideas: I normally charge £20 for lesson, however, if he is interested so much in this then I'm willing to do it for a free: so he can respond here and tell me whether or not he wants to actually experience real CMA or not and try to understand what the fuck structure is: what balance is, etc because he clearly does have an interest in CMA and is on the wrong track currently with these bizare tirades against people who are doing genuine CMA.

English is not my 1st language, German is. And sorry, to not reply to the written questions only, but I also consider the video a question on its own. All the below are personal experiences. They are of the Yin kind. Unroot: The hopping mostly is a face giving attitude especially in Asia, in public events, anniversaries; but there also some masters you slap their students on the back head, if they put on this show. One of my teachers demonstrated the following: taking a person up, throwing a person straight forward, take a person down softly and forcefully. The comment was to take one up is the safest, because all the force goes in the lifting, the body can expand. The straight is more dangerous because while you are drifting back the head might land 1st on the wall. Taking down softly is like putting a baby in the cradle, taking down forcefully is the most dangerous because the body can escape between hand and floor, bones in the feet might break. In all this methods if done by a master one does not feel any force/pressure entering the body. The worst another one: hand on the chest, a blow, where one would still stand, but lifting one`s shirt you could see a “print” of the pushers hand. Once another teacher was going to demonstrate on me, but reconsidered to give some theory to the students. He was on my left side, putting his right hand on my left shoulder, when suddenly I lifted straight up without feeling that coming. The soles of my feet were above his knee. So, while I was floating, he apologized, for having lost control. I came down again without tilt, safely, easily. So how can that happen? With a hand on my shoulder, he could definitely not push me up so far, and I could never fake that jumping so high, not even, if I went down before to start with? I did not understand it at all that time, some 20 years ago. But now I can say its within physics, biology, and neurology in non linear behaviour. So more comments: No touch is always pre touch to display a “false” intention. I once tossed a guy several meters through the air through the hall, could never repeat that. And exercise was to jump a few meters, and then put the palms on the partners chest without intentionally pushing or shoving. It was late at night , 11hrs training and the body was very exhausted. To look at Mizner videos gave me a better insight in these and other “strange experiences. This is to encourage to meet Mizner, if money and time allows it, its worth it. I met top masters from the Yang, WU, Sun and Chen style who could do this manipulation without an incoming pressure/force is felt beforehand. Good training.

Thank you for your reply, I appreciate the time it must have taken you but fear it was time wasted. I now have been only doing Adam mizners warm up and 5 stances for a little over 2 months and the other day I did a finger strike (snake hand) someone in the stomach and knocked them into a wall 5 ft away. Granted it was a small guy and I am 200 plus pounds. But still I have never punched someone and knocked them back in such a matter. And I wasn’t even trying to use force. Just speed, because we were fooling around, case in point, it’s not so much that Adam mizner is so special, or even that his students are may or may not be special i postulate that his training modality is spot on, it’s simply the right recipe. Within his warm up are fajjin and body loosening off all the joints, nei gong to help achieve song and ground force path. And 5 standing postures done everyday as he suggest the body cannot help but be transformed, if you stood every day for 35 min coupled with 20 min of body loosening and neigong, I think you would experience energetic a also. I have bee training internals since 1990 and I don’t often come accross a training modality that has me scratching my head as much as mizners did. So once again I suggest you try his warm ups and stances for 10l days and see what you see. I post a daily live of my mizner training ,on fb if you like I will post one on yt you can learn the warm up try it for 10p days and maybe then you will find more joy perfecting your art then trying to poke holes in a another’s livelihood hood and life’s passion,

Nothing wrong with your naysaying. I am not a student of his, nor anyone else. I would suggest you make a comment on the movie that he participated in in 2018, 'The Power of Chi', I think it's called. You can rent it for about $5 american. There, he pushes hands with some mma fighters and other athletes who I am sure you would consider real fighters, and other athletes including Brian Shaw, a 425lb massive strongman. There he demonstrates the skill level that can move them, even though they don't wish to be moved. Now... that's now 'fighting', and it's not 'hopping' around. It's however, a very real demonstration of a skill set that the man has worked apparently long and hard to develop. Whether it's of any interest to you and your martial arts is of course another thing. However, the movie is there, and unless you wish to pretend that great mma champions were paid off to pretend to be moved around by him- which other naysayers wanted to insist- former heavywt mma champ fabricio Werdun, former middlewt mma champion Lyoto Machida and another olympic fencer, the aforementioned worlds strongest man, Brian Shaw, and a former linebacker in the US NFL. They all were impressed with his particular skill. What it's worth in the scheme of things is of course up for debate- however, it is rather childish of you to pretend you can't pronounce the guys name. That's just silly.
@msgoldberg
@msgoldberg Жыл бұрын
Oh, first, in the above comment I misspelled 'Now... that's not fighting' , so please note that. Also, appropo your hopping issues. With the massive Brian shaw he most certainly was not making this enormously strong, connected up power lifter hop about, and he and Shaw were discussing things and he mentioned connected up Shaw's strength was, and one could see that making a boulder of a man hop about was not in the cards... but that wasn't the point. A more serious question would be what are those particular skills and what might be their uses. Anyway- I would suggest you review the movie I mentioned and then make your comments based upon that, rather than the particular video here. JMO

That Fudo guy ... Hmm, so active on my channel, too, but finally I called him a coward, too, as he got more and more ad personam, and had to block him. Could it be Mizner himself, or Damo Mitchell whom he also recommended? Anyway. I once learned with Frieder Anders, and I was not impressed because I did Kung Fu at the same time. Anders, obviously a legit 6th generation heir in the Yang tradition, demonstrates a couple of similar things on KZbin. He must be almost 80 years now and made a career out of it. Of course I never saw him doing stuff like Mizner, having a friend twisting his thigh and sending chi there etc., s.th. that anyone could rebut on the spot if he is not in his pocket. Mizner is more like the dumb version of Anders who at least knew his place. His assistants are like bad actors. Everything they demonstrate can be done more effectively in good Kung Fu and the like, healthwise, defensewise, and even spiritually when you combine it with simple meditation and breathing exercises.

I believe tai chi is kung fu. Like all kung fu styles, there are strengths and weaknesses. It’s the people that are attracted to tai chi that seem to be the real problem. @@indefenceofthetraditionalmatoo bad, I personally looked into this internal stuff for a long time till I decided to go to a 4 day workshop to another internal stuffs master. Mind you I have 0,01% martial arts background. Just a taiji online course. All I can say, it works. The practise has to be dilligent and dedicated. The teacher, but even half assed should give results within 5 years. For me it isn't about the martial arts, for me it is just learning that there is a 180degree different approach to life than the way that we are programmed as living beings to approach life. It is more of a thing about perception and truly seeing what it is that we really are. It is not for everyone and not everone is ready for this approach to begin with. I can only tell you that I had so really interesting results in that 4 day seminar. It is a subtle art, and the increments to succesful application are miniscule steps. This internal stuff is not for fighting. It more about being concerned with being released, harmonized and maintaining an inner state.

@@indefenceofthetraditionalma Seeing life for what it really is and skillfully dealing with it is mostly an internal fight. Balancing and rebalancing. So for me it doesn't matter what martial art a person does, but when the life philosophy of stopping fighting isn't in it, it isn't the right fight. There is allot of deeper subconscious layer stuff that comes up through the internal and the letting go, instead of reacting to the animal mind (fight or flight). Look, I mostly only know these things well in theory, but I would love to be able to anchor myself into the deeper layers of stillness (peace).Sometimes I absolutely suck at this part, but that is a whole long personal story of who I am and possibly why I am the way I am. Either way, internal practice does some things to our insight into ourselves that our forward geared minds and being (body/mind) and outward focused martial arts hardly touch upon. There are some people that achieved internal skills through outward focused MA's, So yes, the peeling back of of our layered perception and release is why I am motivated. The neigong/meditative parts and the spin off parts like hua na and fa are merely side effects if you ask me.

@@indefenceofthetraditionalmayou actually can. Especially if you use kabbalistic letters which all have different effects. And then formulas with multiple letters. I’m in USA. It’s very real. Learn qi gong. Or tai chi. Or even a great book that will allow you to pull in and store huge amounts of energy by John kreiter called “the magnum opus” Then you put the energy into the bones. And then between the bones and fascia. This gives you the basic energy, which is controlled by thought. So you just “sink” the chi and basically relax more then the other person. And your energy will go inside of them and your though will effect them. So you can think “heavy” and focus on the knees or the neck or ankles etc. and you will see the person react accordingly. It’s real. You just need to cultivate the energy. If there’s no chi cultivated and stored, you’ll have no effect like everyone else. You can do it anyone can. No one is special.

Hello, Let me explain videos with Adam & his students. You see the training exercise to feel JIN energy and let the body react. It is just TRAINING, it's not fighting or contact sparring. Real martial tai chi is practicing on special equipment using real force and using inner energy. If you practice some material arts that approach is not familiar to you. Also, tai chi could be different: you can practice it only for well-being or as a hobby but not as material art. If you want to use it for real fights you should pass other tai chi systems not only pushing hands (dan show, shouan tui shouw)

Systema Brussels Hi Rob, I do agree that most of chi demonstration are indeed biomechanical tricks, but with Mizner, it's another deal... For having trained personnally with him and expierienced directly his touch, I can tell you it's not fake. I never jumped in a steady position like some other students, I guess my feet are always ready to move and my body doesn't fight back and can somehow accept force, but... what I felt, I never felt before, it was such an experience ! Crossing hands with him is just something else, like your nervous system doesn't understand what's happening and your body is just bugging, the first time he touched me I was simply unable to move. I asked him if he could do it again, he explained me he would come normally, without activating his pong and it was "normal", I could adapt to what he was doing, Then he told me, now I open the tap and... I felt like overwhelmed by something, after a second I could move my feet, but I was simply stuck to him and could not unplug. Then he sent "something" with no biomechanical movement at all, basically chi, I felt like a fucking punch in my stomach and everything collapsed inside my body, while the only point of contact was between our right forearms... And another thing that I only experienced with Mickail, when you approach him with a martial intent, wether he is just standing, there are simply no entry to his "bubble", you feel that whatever you would try to do, it's already handeled and you're done, don't know how to describe it another way 🙃 One of your friends already knows how things are. Or is he hypnotized too? By the way, similar accusations and mockery are often found against Sergey Ryabko by people who have not seen him live, but only on KZbin. But you and I know that not everything can be seen on KZbin, right? And that some of the "fake stuff" is actually quite real, right? Have a nice day and good luck in your search for the truth! :)

If it doesn’t work, show it on film. If his students won’t let you get near him, film that. If he puts you on your ass, be unlike EVERY “keystroke warrior” in the world and show some integrity. I have no idea who George Dillman is, so I am not equipped to answer that question. I have no problem at all admitting to what I do not know or what I might not know. That’s what leaves room for growth. Here’s a wacky idea, but just hear me out-maybe breath slow and count to 5 before dismissing it as a completely ridiculous notion. It is an incredible feeling to get pushed by someone who knows what they are doing. You need to experience this yourself before calling it bullshit. Adam is not the only one in the world able to do this. My teacher can and there are many of Huangs students world wide. Wee Kee Jin is another. To be fair, I would not have believed it if I didn't experience it first hand, and that is what kept me there after 20 years practice. @@indefenceofthetraditionalma No, Australia. I started out doing Chow Gar Tong Long, but all the best students also did Tai Chi so I graduated to that, approximately 20 years ago. I can assure you that I am non compliant, and would never be party to faking any of this. Do you really think that Mizner's many demonstrations not only with his own students, but many others outside his school are faked? Have you thought what that would involve? Paying off literally hundreds of students and others, who are all prepared to look stupid for the sake of Adam Mizer. It makes no sense. Anyway I do hope you get to experience this. I understand your scepticism. This doesn't defy physics at all and isn't magic. The best way I can describe it is if you have ever put an orange pip between your fingers and it shoots out, that is kind of how it feels. You can have the strongest "base" and when pushed you entirely lose it like you are standing on a thin branch instead of the ground then you are flying back. I might add that this is as traditional as you get as far as Tai Chi goes. Most schools I see are more about having a form that looks good but lacks the principles in movement.
