Sygic has the best freely downloadable maps i've seen, I use it and ZANavi which uses downloadable open maps.

Sygic is really expensive but if you pay you can download allthe maps of the whole worldon your device. May sound strange for an American, but big parts of the world do not have 4G everywhere so off-line navigation might be very handy everywhere outside the US or the EU.

Did you know you can add an OBD-2 bluetooth interface for like $20 and see all your temps and fault code translations and accel through the unit? Also Tire pressure monitoring addons are made for this unit. In EU its best to buy chinese stuff from Aliexpress. Just got a Xtrons-branded chinese unit there, with TPMS, 4G and OBD-2 addons. I did not take backup cam or head cam or DTV. But these can be added later separately. I will install it tomorrow so it was nice to see how plug&play these are. And Sygic is not chinese its a 3D- navigation system with very small footprint map files.

Just install one of the android auto launcher apk's and it will look really OEM. Btw sygic is not Chinese but a popular app here in Europe. The auto launcher will make it much easier to control the thing while driving.

You should get a obd2 bluetooth dongle and get the torque pro app on the headunit. Then you download another app called racingmeter and it piggy backs off torque pro. You can turn the screen into a bunch of gauges and it looks really cool.

oh man :) Sygic is not a weird Chinese GPS, it's a Slovak famous navigation, actually first offline navigation to run on iPhone, ever. Quality is beyond of what you're used to as for offline navigation, but it has also other cool functionalities. I know you people might be used to Waze and Google maps, because, well, America ;) but when Google was not much of use elsewhere, Sygic was navigating the world outside of US for sure and is preloaded as well in bunch of automobiles, supports anroid auto and carplay, etc etc. Cool developers, from 1 person company are now a real big thing with innovations.

Little tip... placing the radio in the cage like that will cause it to creek and rattle. Get some Tesa tape which is the cloth tape car wiring looms are wrapped in and put it around the edge of the radio and wrap your wiring in it. Rattle free for a couple of bucks!
