They had a choice, they knew what was wrong and what was not. Immediate divorce, definitely. Especially if they try to hide it and downplay it. A child does not need a parent like that. Yes, parents are valuable for children growing up. But can you really trust a person who cheated on their spouse for cheap fun knowing they have children at home expecting their parent coming home? They were the ones who destroyed that family that the children imaged too. There's no reason or point to justify cheating.
