My Childhood Experiences With Dyslexia. Growing up with some form of dyslexia, I had a lot of trouble with school. This video is about all the things I went through and explains why I love reading so much.
This situation was a struggle, but my parents helped me a lot along the way. Learning disabilities are a challenge for anyone who goes through them, but they are also invisible to most people. Learning disabilities aren't as noticed as other types of disabilities and ways of standing out. But they do have a significant effect on people's lives.

Thanks for sharing. Thankfully, the public education system has gotten better. My son was identified as someone who may need help. We went through a bunch of test (both regional and city run. Navigating this was difficult) and he wasn't labeled according to a spectrum, but still needed some help. We now have him taking speak and language lessons, occupational therapy, designated help within the public school, as well as an after school program. He's doing quite well now. Some is paid for by our group insurance coverage and others is out of pocket.

Allister Stuckless it’s good that he is getting some extra help. I’m a little cynical about the public school board because of my experience, if my parents didn’t take me out of public school I wouldn’t have had any hope. Hopefully things go well and he can get the help he needs.

It is great that you are aware and trying to do something about it, that is the most important thing.

Sorry to hear that, at university it was impossible for me to read my textbooks, so I made sure that I always attended my classes, never missed one. Afterwards, I studied my own notes, but I know that my school at a note taker program where someone else would take notes and share them afterwards. I can understand the difficulties of reading, I hope you are able to find some support, cause you school should have been providing that.
