Thank you for planning on attending the sewing expo. I attended in 2019 and it was excellent. Wonderful vendors , excellent classes and a fun atmosphere. Many of us were looking forward to going in 2023 but after finding out the lack of vendors, good classes and excellent teachers - many of our sewing committee members declined. I am so glad a younger, independent maker such as yourself is going. We need younger people to step up and get this event more current, exciting etc. As a group you do such a wonderful job with instagram, you tube, pattern testing and the like. Thank you.

Thanks for the video, Whitney. I wanted to share the way I remember which directions the warp and weft threads go: the weft threads are horizontal (like the lines in the capital "E" in weft and the warp threads go up and down like the lines in the capital "A" in warp). Hope that helps!

Love your skirt and your pearl embellishment on the shirt. The embellishment is well done and classy. Pearls are very classic, so you still fit solidly within the classic style category with this outfit in my opinion.

Thanks for an excellent tutorial on this Ban Roll technique for baby hemming a garment! I’ve used Ban Roll in the past when sewing for my husband and son, however, this opens up an entirely new use for me! By the way, the pearl embellishments you placed on your shirt, in my opinion, still falls in the classic aesthetic category! ❤

WHAT? That is an amazing way to hem a skirt. Could this technique be done on a shirt, like the Liesl and Co. shirt? Any shirt with a curved hem? Your outfit is adorable on you. I think the Pearl collar shirt would look cute with jeans too.

Great tip, I was wondering if it would work if you used the tape for a waistband? Instead of removing the band, take the edge off, like you did, sew the seam with the tape, then sandwich the tape in the waistband? You would have a waistband that had a lot of body.
@lovemesomeslippers10 ай бұрын
I’m pretty sure that that is what it’s meant for.
@TomKatStitchery10 ай бұрын
It is meant to be like an interfacing in waistbands/waist facings. You could totally do that for garments as well. As far as this skirt, though, you need elastic at the waist because it stretches to go over your hips and then fit the waist.
@chancyfessler746410 ай бұрын

Love the outfit! Did you have to do anything special when seeing French side seams? I’m nervous about pulling too hard/not hard enough to make sure side seam doesn’t pucker or stretch out since it’s on bias. Yours look perfect.
@miriamcihal840910 ай бұрын
Thanks for all you do for us!
@TomKatStitchery10 ай бұрын
I didn't do anything special, other than sew from the hem to waistband on both sides. If you go slow and are careful not to tug, it usually ends up just fine!
