Michigan guy here... Those black starter Red Wings jerseys were around a lot in the late 90s. I fully expected to see it on the ice at some point and it just never happened. I also agree that the silver looks awesome on a Wings jersey. I've been hoping to see more cream jerseys. Add cream and silver and let the marketing folks call it "chrome and cream" and then print money with the sales! Cream jerseys just scream old time hockey.

Griffins logo is vastly underrated!! I love their unis. I wish they would use one of their Winter Classics as a 3rd. Especially the 2014 one...........I adore that.

As an Avs fan I feel an immense satisfaction that you continued to wear the Too Many Men cup shirt for this video. I must admit though, despite the biases I grew up with, Red Wing jerseys are among my absolute favorite in the NHL

GO WINGS!! I love the Wings jerseys, except the Reverse Retros. I prefer a 3rd jersey that looks like the 2014 Winter Classic or the 09 Winter Classic with the Cougar "D". The Wings had a black practice jersey. I'd leave the black jerseys for practice.

Some Wings fans have been getting surveys from the team asking about mascots and alternate jerseys, so maybe we'll see something more crazy in a few years. Personally, I want a dark red and silver one, with another Winged Wheel design that maybe looks a little more 3D, and a griffin shoulder logo with wings in a similar style to the primary logo.

That 75th anniversary jersey the team wore back in 92 is one of my favs! However most replicas including the one you have, feature incorrect positioning. The top stripe is suppose to touch the bottom of the collar, and the word mark should be setting right across the chest, not our bellies! Cmon people, get it right!!! LGRW!!!! 💪🏼😎

Grand Rapids has some great jerseys. The black and yellow day of the dead jersey is great and even the purple jersey is nice. Every year they seem to have like 5 and do charity auctions for them.

A store called Kohl's here in Detroit was selling a Red Wings Jersey that was light blue for the main color with the red stripes with the logo made by Starter.

Detroit fan here, I do want to see the black and silver make there way in the jersey’s permanently, like the silver in the logo black accent on collar and sleeve, then your classic red and white every where else I think would nice. And as alt jersey maybe do the tire in logo black, spokes silver, the wing red and white and outlined red. I think that would look awesome

The current Grand Rapids Griffins jersey’s are great. I would recommend trying to get ahold of their inaugural season jerseys, when the griffins were Ottawa’s farm team.

Fun fact: the red jersey with the Cougars “D” crest was only used in the 2014 NHL Alumni Game vs. the Maple Leafs. Never by the team in a regular NHL game. The original Cougars team only had white jerseys, so I like to think that the red one is Detroit’s OG Reverse Retro (and their best one by far😂)

With the questionnaire that went out, asking fans if they'd like a 3rd jersey, I'm really hoping they take inspiration from the Winter Classic jersey. Pretty much everyone loves that jersey. It seems like they could easily use the modern logo just to change it a little and have an instant hit. I'd go with the older style logo, and maybe drop the "Detroit" but that's just preference. I could also see a black jersey with silver and red logo, maybe the overall design be like the 75th anniversary striping, etc but in black. I'd love to see either as a 3rd jersey and think they'd be reasonably popular.

I never understood why the Wings didn't flip the colours on their away jersey as the first reverse retro...yes it would be a red torso, but then with mostly white sleeves. I think it would look good.

I love your take as a hockey fan instead of a specific team fan. I'm a lifelong wings fan and I like your outside takes on the Jersies. However the wings logo and colors are sacred like you said xD don't let Chris Illitch and his PR team hear you they may attempt to make a third color for the wings permanently. I dunno, the Centennial jersey to me looks like something they'd make for a department store. The silver looks odd to me. Same with the RR 1.0. The '14 Winter Classic was my grail and I found someone selling a Datsyuk on Marketplace for under $200 US. I wouldn't mind picking up the Stadium Series or the 2009 Classic/Alumni one one day. I did buy the first RR for $40 because why not, at that price. One thing that always bothered me is the Vintage version of the 1991 version of the 1927 jersey is that the stripes are too low. in 1991 they actually met the collar.

The 2014 Winter Classic jersey was just fantastic. I really don't like their stadium ones or other ones. Last years reverse retros were ok but still nowhere near as good as the Winter Classic.
