The C section today was right down my alley. The Cure, The Cult some of my favorites of all time, I also have that Crowded House, amazing one… Thanks for sharing 🎶✌🏼

Thank you Olivier! The Crowded House album doesn’t get enough spins in my house. I really enjoyed listening to it before making the video. Definitely would like Love and Electric in my vinyl collection for the Cult.

I’m not a huge Crowded House guy, but that is a good choice. It’s the only one I have from back in the day. Funny you mentioned The Stand. Excellent series, and as soon as you mentioned it I reconciled the song with it. I saw that Sonic Temple tour on that tour on one of the coldest winter nights in the history of cold nights in Ottawa. I’m exaggerating but it was f’n cold getting home. I have a 12” single for Edie, Ciao Baby. Outstanding. Their look changed as well as their sound in the Ric Rubin years. Great Cure summary. I have several but mostly on compact disc. Have a happy Thanksgiving my friend! ✌️

Damn you Mike, its blasphemy not to be a huge Crowded House fan!, are you a fan of Split Enz (the previous band that the Finn Brothers were in in)?? - Lloyd

Thank you Mike! Wondering if the Rick Rubin years started at Sonic Temple: I meant to mention I totally lost track of the Cult after Sonic Temple. I just streamed the new Cure record. It is great but disappointed it ended after 8 songs.I’m sure a beverage or two or eight helped with the subzero temp!

Critics....what do they know?! A good song is a good song, and Something So Strong is a great pop record. Cult! All of my Cure is on CD. Great selections and insights into all these artists, Shawn. Well done! 🎶😎

Thank you Ed! That is why music is so great. In the end a critic is just a person with an opinion.

Hi Shawn, im a huge Crowded House fan, well Neil and Tim Finn in general. "temple of low men" and "woodface", as you mentioned, should be high on your list for sure. also try Neil Finn's debut solo album "try whistling this" plus The Finn Brothers' "finn" and "everyone is here" albums. do you own any Split Enz albums by chance??. BTW, nothing wrong with "something so strong" IMO. Paul Hester is on the right hand side mate. Nick Seymour in the middle. great video mate - Lloyd

Thanks very much Lloyd! No I do not have any Split Enz but on my higher priority list. Temple of low men is like 12 dollars so I plan on picking this one up before the end of the year. The Finn brothers / I was not aware they had album releases. Thanks for the tip. I will research this tonight.

Excellent rundowns, Shawn! Especially The Cure records. Death Cab for Cutie is also a significant song in The Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour film! Keep up the great work and happy Thanksgiving!

I was thinking to myself before your comment , I really to figure out how Death Cab for Cutie came up with that band name before my next video. In the article I read it concerning this it pretty much said only hard corest of Beatle fans knows this tidbit. Thank you Mark as always for supporting/watching!

@vinylshawn4757 My pleasure, Shawn! I like to think of myself as a hardest-core Beatles fan!

Hi Shawn. Splendid video. Wish I had been a bit more forward looking when the Crowded House albums got their last re-issue back in 2016. I got the deluxe CD's instead. Didn't think it would be a problem, but especially Together Alone goes for stupid money now 🙄
@vinylshawn47576 күн бұрын
Thank you Morten! I think that temple of low men is definitely a record you can get on vinyl for a great price. Woodface is much higher. I haven’t checked the rest but have no doubt that together alone is probably a couple notches above woodface. Deluxe version on cd is the route I may go on that album.

@ There is ONE Together Alone for sale on Discogs right now for 140 € (147 US$) 😳

I was not aware that Paul Hester passed 😞 I just read an article that the 2007 album Time on Earth was dedicated to Hester. Such a sad story. Depression is ruthless. Thanks for watching.
