In this video, Amanda shares how her first colon cancer symptoms started as mild IBS like a consistent growling stomach to eventually, blood in her stool. She was told it could be hemorrhoids or a fissure but her symptoms persisted. Finally she was able to get a colonoscopy and was diagnosed with colon cancer.

Something needs to change! Doctors need to stop with the assumption that it is anxiety or depression. Everything physical should be ruled out first.

I am a physician (not from the US) and it's always horribly surprising how so many patients (both young and old) are dismissed for months with these catastrophic diagnoses... but dealing with people and the insurance companies is not easy. If your first response is to test for the least common and worst disease you will catch these patients earlier for sure; but there will be hundreds that wont have cancer and will blame you as a doctor for prescribing them expensive tests or labs (that their insurance will not cover) and with that blame they will also not continue their follow up with you... I agree something has to change... but it's not as simple as you would think. The system itself needs a lot of improvement and to give patients more power in their overall healthy journey.

@@griselreyes3813 That's why doctors shouldn't work isolated. They should work in communication with more doctors. The problem is when they find easier to diagnose with things like fibromyalgia, anxiety, depression and time passing by the patient getting worse without the right diagnosis.

They WERE ruling it out. What do you want a Doctor to say when a 29-year-old is having these symptoms? Oh my gosh! You’re probably going to die of cancer! Is that what you want to hear as a patient? It is so incredibly rare at the age of 29 do you have colon cancer. When one goes to urgent care it is Not the type of practice that will rule out serious conditions. It would have served her much better without insurance to go straight to the emergency room where they would have done an exam, and at the very least some sort of a scan or ultrasound. For who she chose to go to it was appropriate. Urgent care. Doctors always tell patients to follow up as soon as possible with a physician. Urgent care does not exist to diagnose patients with complicated diseases. Urgent care is simply there to buy a couple of days before the patient is to see their regular physician or the hospital by prescribing antibiotics or splinting a broken bone.

This is the 100th time I’ve seen a video from this channel where a young person was reporting scary symptoms and was dismissed for years before they finally found out they had cancer. Cancer rates are higher than ever and in people who are very young, if someone has symptoms like this they should be tested just to make sure.

It's not only disgraceful, it's CRIMINAL. Ins. companies won't pay for colonoscopy till age 50. WIthout making person use precious time jumping through hoops, when they claim at age 50 we need one symptoms or not, TO CATCH IT EARLY. I could cry watching these videos.

@@michellehartford1124, that's not true. If there is a reason and a Dr prescribes it, the insurance will pay for it. What the insurance won't pay is that if you have no symptoms, but you want to do it, let's say anually for whatever the reason you want to have it done. I thinks it's silly for insurance not to pay for an $800 test, which in the long run it will cost a lot more if in a year or two from there you will end up with stage 4.

I hate the idea that young people “can’t be sick”. I saw a gastro who told me basically I’m too young for anything to be wrong with me. My coworker was dismissed by doctors for her symptoms and eventually ended up in the hospital being told she could have died if she waited longer to go and was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in her early 20’s.. meanwhile doctors told her she was “too young” to have anything like that. It’s ridiculous.

I'm from Canada and my mom was just diagnosed with rectal cancer. She's 67. Her mother had colon cancer and her brother had precancerous polyps removed. I'm 42 and just saw a gastroenterologist because I have had stomach issues for years and he told me I don't need a colonoscopy until 50. I pushed the issue and I am getting one in a week. So ridiculous how we have to fight so hard for our own health. They always stress how early detection is key and yet doctors don't want to do the testing.

@@SLP8107 There are many inconsistencies in the medical world. Unfortunately that means people have to push against the system every now and then in order to get their needs met. Despite the trend of younger people getting colon/rectal cancer, insurance companies and national health plans still go by probabilities and won’t approve colonoscopies for younger patients. The toll it takes on the person's mental health in addition to the physical symptoms (in your case Chron's, which I also have and cannot imagine having it for years being not taken seriously. It can be debilitating, truly). I'm 33 now in my second year of med school after losing a friend to suicide who went for years to the doctor(s) trying to get to the bottom of their issues, and continually was dismissed. She had a tumor on her thyroid. Completely preventable situation, and likely highly treatable. She just needed one doctor to listen to her.

You need to be checked Blood parasite called babesiosis. Babesiosis is the number one cause of inflammatory breast cancer in the entire world. Doctors do not test for it because it has an 80% failure rate. The failure rate is so high because they mistake the parasite inside the red blood cell as the nucleus. The lab technicians forget that red blood cells do not have a nucleus, they give their findings to the lab physician, and the physician just simply signs off on it. Go see a very good infectious disease doctor. If you have headaches, stabbing heart pain, I mean anemia. Fatigue or any other unusual symptom, get tested and get tested more than once and talk about babesiosis with the infectious disease doctor. I had babesiosis, and I almost died from it.

We have hereditary bowel cancer in our family. My 60 yr old uncle died from it in 2000 and his death saved my mother as his siblings were all advised to have what our family call buttcams. So they found it in my mum and she had successful surgery with no chemo required. It was found again in 2016 and more surgery and she has a stoma bag and is cancer free at 87. My then 26 yr old son had to have a colonoscopy for an unrelated issue and they found numerous pre cancerous polyps in him. The surgeon was genuinely surprised considering his age and said that he would have had bowel cancer by his mid 30’s if they hadn’t found it when they did. So now, all of the grandchildren have to have buttcams as well as us as we and the specialists never realised that they were at risk due to their age. I am due for another one and as I get older I do feel a slight fear beforehand. I wish you all the best and send you much love from Australia.

I've been seeing blood in poop for about 3 years ,I've had two Colonoscopys now and in UK no mention of being put to sleep I've had to be awake and both times I found it horrendously painful, but nothing found except Diverticular disease, which has become Diverticulitis since having procedure in Jan this year, I've been in Hospital 5 times as an emergency as I was crippled up in tummy pain, just given painkillers and antibiotics and told to go home except for one time I was seen by a Consultant that said I can fix this, cut your colon and put you on a Stoma bag!!! Yippie was I supposed to be excited ?? No b. Way I was scared as hell, and took the painkillers and went home , No way do I want to be cut about or have a Stoma bag. I want to learn to manage my condition if that's all it is, but who really knows as the medical staff often get it wrong. I know something isn't right with my body. I guess I will have to keep on speaking to my GP about my symptoms. Good luck to everyone going through this stuff.

Im in Canada, im 70 female, still working pt, volunteering and I think Im a carpenter doing my own home renos but I began slowing down. I wasnt feeling up to snuff for about a year. I started taking naps, feeling fatique. I would feel dizzy and weak, Id feel my heart palpating. I assumed i was diabetic because if I ate something and usually with coffee the dizxy nausea it went away (coffee and food spikes my blood pressure). I also assumed it was just old age. In the meantime I was vomiting, diarrhea, pooping several times a day, then constipation, repeat. I live very rural, in the mountains, doctors about an hour and half away and I never had a doctor, rarely had a need. One day while visiting relatives in the city I went to a doctor, told him my problems and I was overdue for a thyroid ultrasound. And I chalked my issues up to my thyroid acting up (9 nodules) or maybe diabetic. This young doctor was excellent, he gave me a few sheets of paper to have a battery of tests done. He took my blood pressure and said it was very low giving no explanation other than "do you feel dizzy." Results come back within a few days, he call me. My FIT came back with blood, he said I had colin cancer. My hemoglobin was very low and my heart had an extra beat (old age thing). He referred me to the Cancer Clinic for a regular colinoscopy screening. They rejected me bc of my symptoms. I had to have a referral to a surgeon to do it. Got that quickly. If the surgeon finds something (other than polyps) they will operate then on the colon possibly removing a section. They dont wait! He suspects a hole in my colon. Colonoscopy booked, just waiting! All this was done by phone calls or emails, only once did I visit the doctor's office. Actually very efficient and convenient!

So sorry that no one listened to you. I know of several people who went thru those exact steps of being ignored until it was too late. Having survived cancer, I keep saying, don't be afraid of what they find, be afraid of what they don't find. Doctors are irresponsible with women in particular. It's stress, it's emotional. Do men get that crap? No. Every dr that rejected your concerns should be notified and perhaps, just perhaps their behavior might change and they might save someone instead of ignoring patients.

The problem is doctors get a biased training from a 7th Day Adventist agenda and told to prescribe meds due to big Pharma agenda as well. The major issue is companies like Mr. Kellogg’s company were designed to replace natural fatty meats like bacon and eggs so human hormones would be damaged. They pushed grains and fiber to make money but it has damaged human health and the colon is not built to process all that. Carnivore is healing people and proves we don’t need fiber or any plants. I have been carnivore for a year and 4 month, had IBS for years before and it reversed and no more constipation! No gas and no more bloating! Every one on carnivore sees same results too! Fiber is harming human colons, same with vegetable oils! But plants in general, as fiber, vegetable oils, and plant sugars cause all this mess!

Please read. Will be fine. My father was a strong man and after he had surgery for colon-rectal cancer, he died after a lot of suffering in about three months. The doctor thought I had the same cancer and wanted to operate on me. As I had already studied a lot about cancer, I refused the operation. The doctor told me that I will be back in six months. But 14 years of a very active life have passed. If you want to beat the cancer: 1. Chemotherapy means that you destroy not only your cancer cells, but also many healthy cells, which you need. A very bad thing is that it may destroy your immune system, the one that tells the body when you have cancer and that knows how to fight cancer. 2. Radiotherapy is well known to cause cancer. The underlying idea is that cancer cells will die. it's true, it destroys them. But it can also turn healthy cells into new cancer cells. There is some hope if you follow radiation therapy with doses of radiation very precise targeted at the cancer. 3. Surgery is a solution, but it often spreads the cancer to other parts and thus creates new cancers. What can you do: 1. Prayer to God. Yes, God really exists. And He asks us to love Him, people and do good deeds. 2. To search very persistently for our sins and mistakes. Don't look for excuses, they only have value if God considers that you deserve to be forgiven. Don’t hide yourself behind excuses like “I didn’t anything to do” or “Others did too”. I searched for my sins and mistakes for several months. 3. Stop eating meat and sweets. It is easier that you think! 4. Daily, up to half a liter of beetroot juice. 5. Seeds of all kinds. 6. Cancer is not a tragedy. Fight calmly. Moderate action. 7. It would be very good if you have the strength to follow the treatment of Rudolf Breuss. Sure you can. Help her, please God, to be healthy!

For anyone scared. If you have consistent symptoms. Get a colonoscopy to rule out anything scary. That being said. For 6 years I have had chronic stomach issues. Constipation, direah, thin stools, loss of weight. You name it. I fit every single symptoms of colon cancer minus blood. I stressed for years convinced I was going to die. Long story short I scheduled a colonoscopy and they found zero cancer. I wanted to share that with anyone scared and self diagnosing like I did to not panic. But get a colonoscopy not just to rule anything out but for the peace of mind.

There are dozens of videos from 'young' people in America being failed by 'Doctors' who seem to have the belief that cancer doesn't occur in young people unless they're born with a condition. Which leads me to question whether it's just something they're uneducated in or, and more disturbingly, are TOLD by insurance companies or maybe even TRAINED to believe that it doesn't happen.

My symptoms have been insane and put off for so long I finally gave up, it’s been about 2 1/2 years, that I recognized the symptoms, I went thru 6 non successful colonoscopies due to not being able to finish the drink for the prep nor the strict diet they had me on because of being so impacted and constipated my colon was never clean, + my DR is the wost Gastro in my town, but he’s the only one that took my case with my insurance (welfare) he’s got nothing but bad reviews, but I honestly blame my primary DR for always dismissing my severe symptoms

i have been having "IBS-D" for seven years. it hit me randomly and out of no where, but it has been horrible ever since that first "flair". Urgency, painful cramps that even wake me up from sleep. a couple ulcers seen during colonoscopy so they shrugged it off as caused by NSAIDs. BMs are always loose, jump between diarrhea and constipation but even when im consitpated the BM eventually comes out and it is still loose! makes no sense. lately my BMs have been maroon in color and occasionally VERY green, and not from anything new eaten in diet. For a year there has been a fleshy lump on the outside of my rectum, its not a hemmorhoid, i have however dealt with those also for years and thats their go to to blame the blood and pain... anyways, the lump formed when i thought i had a fissure. the pain was so unreal i would shake if i tried to bear down to pass BM, it felt like it was tearing, it too months to heal and a lot of OTC products and creativity on my end bc it took foreven to get into a colorectal surgeon,... i canceled the appt bc by the time it came up i was so defeated. the lump is entirely different than my experience with hemorrhoids. and recently it has been worsening, becoming larger and my rectum is inflammed, stinging and in pain, and the internal muscles feel swollen. Blood in my stools for years. Excessive mucous. even When i pass gas mucus will come out. I feel full very fast when I eat, if i even have an appetite, and if i do eat then after within 15 to 30 min, i have to get to a toilet urgently. Always fatigued, always feeling weak and lethargic, always anxious, constantly nauseated, puke almost daily, and my stomach hurts so bad at times with was feels like a ball on the lower left quadrant..... something is wrong, i just know it. but the doctors just wont help. They wont listen. Im told "youre too young for that", and "maybe if you lose 15 lbs', "its just behavioral"..,, I can't do it anymore.. its to the point when i decided i will just deal with it until i am literally on my death bed and hope maybe they will have some sense of regret and learn from it.. but thats unlikely. I just want to be healthy and normal and not feel sick all the time. at this point i just dont know what to do. im 32, i have kids and a home and Im an RN, and going to school. I am scared for my health. I dont have health insurance at the moment for myself.

I think people should ask for a copy of the medical journal or study that shows if you are sad or stressed, blood may start pouring out of your rectum. I want to see that one. Any doctor that tells you that your bleeding is probably stress, needs to have their license revoked or they should at least have to back to medical school and try again. I would also call all of those doctor's offices to let them know they dismissed my cancer. Maybe you can save the next person.

The medical system is broken. My dad had severe stomach pain. Then he became seriously constipated, every time he went to the doctor they would just prescribed him a bunch of meds. His stomach was huge(bloated). He said that he couldn’t eat anything and always has the urge to poop. They just have him laxatives, fiber, and more pain meds. After 8 months of this, he finally came across a good Dr. at the very basic clinic. He was the one that told him to go to the ER because his clinic was not equipped with the tools to treat him. He was very professional but didn’t mentioned anything about cancer until it was confirmed at the hospital. At this point he was diagnosed with a stage 4 cancer. Started Kemo right away and passed away 4 months later.

The doctors don't want to refer you to have a colonoscopy is because they know the insurance will not approve the examination based on your age, blood work and overall general health.
