I ordered a record from Urban Outfitters one time and it was horrifically damaged too, but I ordered it online and didn't feel like shipping it back, so I went to the closest store around me (a 30 minute drive, might I add) and the dude said I could just swap out the damaged one for a new one on the rack lmao UO needs to get their shit together

not to mention some of their heinous clothing designs like the t shirt they sold that was pretty indicative of the yellow star of david jews were forced to wear during the holocaust, or the kent state university sweater with bloodstains on them. its pretty horrible, i don't shop there anymore

I have never bought multiples of the same album for the different pressing options. I’ve always just made the tough choice and picked one, for fear that people would judge me so hard for buying the same album multiple times lol. You’ve inspired me to believe that it’s okay. Or at least it’s okay to pretend it is. 😂

I highly recommend the AT-LP60 (or the AT-LP60X) by Audio Technica. The cap that it comes with shouldn’t be troublesome whatsoever, but it is removable. You can find it on Amazon 😺✨

That's the one I've been recommending for a long time, I figured I'd ask and see if anyone said anything different... but so far EVERY response has said the LP60 so I think my decision is made. Thank you for your insight!! 😊

Paige Backstage I have it and it’s literally the best @,@ Theres different versions too! You can either get the default, the USB Version (comes with a USB port), the Bluetooth Version (Has Bluetooth Capabilities), or a Version with everything. The default colors are normally gray/silver or black, however you can find other colors like orange if you’re lucky. Also, love your colored vinyl 🤧🔥

Advice for turntable purchase. Buy vintage or be prepared to pay 300 dollars starting price for new turntàble .. Remember direct drive over belt because belts are a hassle but belt driven is fine . The covers all can be removed easily and they are great if you have cats . I have a denon , sansui ,yahama , sony , jvc turntables and àudiotechna cartridges. All my turntables are from 1970s ,1980s . The cartridges is where you will have to put some money down somewhere around hundred starting price . You will notice the difference in sound between cheap and expensive . All Japanese gear is good except for the speakers . For speakers buy Brittish , german , americian , canadian although some canadian speakers ,psb speakers , are now manufacted in china .

I just found your channel and absolutely love this video. Just a little helpful advice you can do with it what you will not judging you at all. When you get a record in a clear case it tends to stick to the record which ultimately will damage it but getting clear inner sleeves for that really helps and it preserves your vinyl. Again not judging how you store your vinyl if that’s how you prefer it then just ignore this whole comment😂😀

That little blemish on the red vinyl is nothing to worry about. If you don't know, vinyl is pressed using these little pellets of pictures, look like little beads. The blemish is probably one stray black pellet got stuck to a red pre-pressed vinyl puck. See before vinyl is pressed with the actual music, the vinyl is a thick puck about the size of a honey puck.

Is my life goal to own all of Björk’s albums on colored vinyl absurd and unnecessary? Yes. Does that change my mind? Absolutely not. Related to a lot of this way too much. (Also audio technica anything for turntables is such good quality and when I got mine I sat on my floor and listened to ALL of my collection like I was a kid on Christmas.)

You should definitely get an Audio Technica LP120! I've upgraded my suitcase record player to the AT and the difference is mindblowing. The AT isn't that pricey and it's much better for your records. Don't know if the lid would be a problem for you, but you can always just remove the lid entirely whenever you play a record.

I'm in the UK and also have an Audio Technica LP120. I highly recommend it. It is a copy of the excellent Technics deck but at a much more affordable price. Should you get one, you will be amazed at the difference between it and the player you have now.

I second this! i also upgraded to this from my briefcase and it’s been such a great decision. I didn’t have the budget to get nice speakers yet but it has a built in preamp switch so you can use an aux cord on any speaker until you’re ready to upgrade that too

How much you wanna spend? Do you need built in phono preamp? I like Rega but just got my daughter an AT-LP60 and was pleasantly surprised at its quality. But if you want an upgrade I’d go with Rega Planar 1.

I think vinyl should come like books, not shrink wrapped. Because then, no one would leave an album unopened. Because books and vinyl are meant to be seen and enjoyed. Plus what if it has a defect. If you see the defect soon after buying, you can return it, get a non-defrctive one.
