Great video! Ever consider getting a better camera?
@cicirunner5 жыл бұрын
Not really. I know the Go Pro isn't amazing but it does the job. You need a good person behind a nice camera to get the benefits. Go Pros are easy to use and versatile. For 1k views I'm not going to invest in real gear lol.

What did you think about Rupp winning that Half Marathon recently? Maybe get better or has he peaked?
@cicirunner5 жыл бұрын
When he ran 59 minutes? I really want to see him get the American record. Unfortunately all the appearance/prize/prestige is in marathons so he will likely stick to those and only run half marathons as "tune up fitness tests leading into big marathons." Although I was disappointed to see Rupp get dropped at the end of the Chicago marathon, he has been steadily improving and I think he can still get faster. He is better in a slow race which showed in the Rio Olympics. If he can stay healthy I think he can do well in Tokyo. Olympic marathons are usually slow winning times which would favor a runner like Rupp.

@@cicirunner Galen just undergone an Achilles surgery that takes people about a year to recover from. He can surely improve if he changes his bonny hopping ballerina running style, but I'm not sure he will change anything.

Alright your fitness was not crumpled up and thrown in the trash after 26 days. For sure it will take you a few weeks to get back to where you were, but you'll get there soon enough. Now I guess you can run with me haha

My aim was to make this dramatic. Besides, I'm not 100% better. I ran 7.5 miles today at 10:30 pace. Put on a 6% incline to get the heart rate up and shorten the stride (alleviate some pain) but I'm not running fast yet.

@@cicirunner I can't even imagine! Im currently taking a month off to get ready for a 13 month training block. Im going nuts! Again, I can't imagine being injured and having to do that!

@@cicirunner Houston Half for 2020. The goal is the run sub 70. I recently ran 72min. I have run 30:50 for 10k and my coach and I agree that I can run faster than 72. Im sorry if that was too much detail

@@mattlongen1927 Awesome! Based on your 10k speed I would say go for it.

Bout time! I’m doing 400’s on Thurs, wanna join?

Haha funny guy over here....I had a decent run 5 days ago where I pushed through the pain and thought everything was okay. Then I had an IT band flare up for 4 days where I couldn't run. Since then I have started to run again but I'm not pushing too far into that pain barrier for fear of extending my injury. I'm easing into it and don't have a race on the calendar until March most likely. I want to just be healthy and pain free again. For now it will just be base building, hill/strength training and trying to get my endurance up with long timed runs. I want to get my mileage up. What's on your schedule?

cicirunner U needed a break. U had a great year! It’s weird how things can come to a halt so quick. All the small unknown muscle tears are healed up and you will be faster in the long run! I took an axe to my leg in June and just PR’d in the half 2 weeks ago. 1:20:36! Then decided to do a last min turkey trot on Thanksgiving. My 800’s kinda sucked last week so did 16x200m on Monday. (On Strava) 400’s on Thurs hopefully. Sub 17 5k would be awesome.
