‘I was so so fatigued and exhausted and I don’t know why’. Watching Emily’s videos again after all of this time is bittersweet. Ive been watching (and crying) to these videos for hours because I’m having a horrible day and need some of that positivity. She’s still inspirational. All of this time without her and she still will forever have a place in my heart. I miss you Em. And I miss Aisha too.

Hi Emily! From experience, lowering the steroid dose or discontinuing it will make you really drowsy for quite some time. I went through that and slept SO much at night, naps during the day when I could.. long naps which isn’t like me at all. I’m sure it’s a combination of things for you, but just wanted you know that when I was taken off steroids I was exhausted for a good month or so. I Depended on coffee, water and vitamin B to try to get me through but not much really helped. It will get better though! Helps to keep moving but also remember to give your body the rest it needs to build its own cortisol back up. (Steroids provide lots of cortisol (energy) so your body stops producing it on its own and needs to learn to produce it again). Love you both so much! Stay strong 💪

Lauren W steroid recovery is brutal. Doing it now after 3 years on. I'm dead af most of the time. Thank goodness for my husband
@LaurenWoz4216 жыл бұрын
penelope 2232 I’m so sorry! I know how you feel, I was on and off for 3 years. I would try to take them only every other month so I wouldn’t get too dependent but last year I wound up on them pretty much non stop. I got the puffy/ rounder cheeks, lots of energy, hunger increase (which I enjoyed-I don’t have much of an appetite naturally!) I gained about 25lbs.. and when I stopped them (by choice but my doctor supported it) even with a taper plan, I felt dead to the world. Just drained of all energy, no appetite, and it lasted a while. It’s different for everyone, but I’d say it was a month before I started not requiring a daily nap or 2. I am a single mom who has to do the school runs and work full time. Thank goodness half of my work is done at home so I could nap on my lunch hour and then continue work from my couch. Usually nodding off here and there until I had to get my daughter from school. I pushed through with coffee, vitamin B, fruit and loads of water. It helped, but didn’t “fix” me. I feel for you and ANYONE who has to go through this. I wonder if Emily should stay on them. So she doesn’t feel so exhausted, discouraged and think it’s solely her illness / treatments causing it. But that’s between her and her doctor. There are side effects either way. Hope you feel better and more like yourself soon! 💖💖💖

Happy Anniversary to both of you. It's the endorphins that overcomes the pain during workouts. Got the results of my PET/CT today. (finally) Go in Tuesday for the port/cath and start the first 3 day chemotherapy treatment, then 21days off, 3 days on, 21 days off, etc for 6 cycles.They are also going to biopsy a spot from my lung; the last time we did it the lung collapsed so we're hoping for better luck this time. I had breast cancer in 2001, lung cancer in 2016, now it's neuroendocrine carcinoma. We want to see if the spot is metastatic breast or lung, neuroendocrine or a 4th cancer completely. I'll be watching to see how you're coming along. Stay strong, Emily.

GVGIRL well, yeah, I mean, evidently she’s got to be on these treatments to keep her cancer in check, so, I’d definitely think it’d be somewhat of a comfort at least knowing it’s the meds causing the sweat, no hypothalamus pressure from a tumor. It may not even happen again after restarting treatment. But it’s good news that it’s not tumor burden causing it. No doubt that’s some relief.
