Your chili has my vote. It's so hard to simmer on my stove . I never had such a hot stove. It boils on the lowest heat. My honey has been wanting chili. My mom always had a rule about no beans on Saturday night. 😂😂😂😂

Look for a simmer mat, also known as a stove top diffuser, reduces and redistributes heat. I have an electric stove, very hard to simmer, common problem if you have electric, I love it so much I bought another one.

Ohh that looks amazing. Little story I have about a chili recipe that I've always made & now my daughter makes it. Her son was about 9 years old(he's 12 now) & he didn't like chilli. Well I had made some of your Chili Beans & canned them. So normally we would use store bought chili beans. But that day my daughter was out of them, so I told her I had some that I had canned using your recipe. So the chili finishes & my grandson said that snells good to his Mom. She said that's chili but you never like it. He looked at it & said "Can I taste it?" She said sure. He tasted it & said this one taste better than usual. He said I like these beans better. Heather have you’ve ever heard of adding allspice and a little cinnamon in your chili? I went to a party and they had homemade chili. So I got a bowl and went back for seconds bc it was so delicious. I ask for the recipe and what was the secret to it. Come to find out it was them two spices added along with all the stuff you added. Thanks for sharing. It looks delicious as always ❤

Looks amazing! The church I used to attend used to have pie baking contests around fair time and the pies would be judged then the pies would go to the church stand. I came in I believe second place a couple of times, and the last one, first place.

Contest sounds like fun! Kielbasa in chili a great idea, I bet people will wonder what that wonderful meaty umami flavor from Kielbasa is in your chili is, but they probably won't be able to quite put their finger on it. Black & white beans make it look more interesting than just red. layering on of seasonings puts it over the top. Sounds like a winner to me! 😋😊

I make a kid friendly chili, my daughter asked for my recipe years ago to make for a dinner the mothers used to put together for football players pre-game potluck, every mother asked for the recipe not just because the kids cleaned it out, the parents thought it was the best chili they ever ate. One of my secrets is baked beans, didn’t have enough beans making it one time, so I said what the heck and through a large can in.

My mom only ever used dark kidney beans, too! Our recipes are very similar! Chorizo is like a secret weapon. I've collected some really interesting salt grinders at Aldi over some time and one is a smoked salt with smoked chili's and lime and I don't know what I'll do when I run out of that! I don't like a lot of smokey flavor in my chili, either. I hope your chili wins and if it doesn't, I hope you get some of the winning recipe because to beat yours it's going to have to be a darn good chili!
