I have great memories of Sweet and Slade playing at my local ice skating rink (an old war building) as a teenager. You have an amazing collection- it’s a work of art.

Hi Richard!! you're right Slade and the Sweet deserved a separated video you have a lot and their discographies are very big too.... unfortunately they never got a lot of exposure down heremaybe because they appeared in the 70's and rock music was not a thing at least down here.... as you night guess i just discover Slade "thanks" to those QR covers and the Sweet i think a bit later, in the end two very underrated bands..... cheers and be well

I do think Sweet are less underated outside the UK than Slade but for me Slade were the better band although I love them both.

Good as always, Richard. SLade - never took off in the US in a big way, all I know is "Run Runaway", which MTV helped turn into a hit in 82 or 83. Sweet I've always been a fan of, have quite a few singles by them, the usual hits from the US - "Fox On The Run", "Ballroom Blitz" and "Love Is Like Oxygen", along with "Little Willy", which I have on a KTel comp. RoyWood I know but I don't know that I've ever heard any of his stuff, I'll add him to my list! 🙂

Thanks for comment TC. I wasn't really expecting one for this or the next couple of videos so thank you again!

@@CookieMusic43 Oh, I intend to watch all of them, because I find it fascinating and it opens so many new musical doors for me! So I'll be a commentin' on stuff, don't you worry about that, LOL!

Slayed! is just such fun, not a bad moment. How Does it Feel..greatest song the Beatles never wrote?. My oh My was a decent torch song. That's a lotta splatters!! Sweet Fanny Adams is just so good, it's the one album of theirs that i play regularly..very Deep Purple meets glam meets proto metal. Desolation Boulevard was a bit of a dissapointment, apart from The Six Teens which is wonderful.( my ' tribute' to Steve Priest where i played that is still my most viewed video..despite getting a copyright strike). Love is like Oxygen is a fabulous song. I used to have it's it's the Sweet Hits, i think that came out around the time they did the Sweet mix??. I have a Move toofa with Shazam and the debut and it's wonderful. Message from the Country is the one i'm always looking for and OGs are expensive. I love Boulders, very experimental and ecclectic, really interesting album. Mustard is decent, i think his then wife, Annie Haslam sings on that one. Another belter of a video, Richard.

Hi Rob, I'm really surprised you got a strike on The Six Teens as it was your own interpretation. Bizarre.

@@CookieMusic43 Someone pointed out to me that the algorithm picked it up because it was such a faithful rendering..I guess I should be flattered then..lol!.

I have a few Slade albums from here to there, but not their late albums. Lately i've got to be interested in Rogues Gallery. Is there a splatter vinyl of it? You didn't buy Ballzy? Pasi
@CookieMusic43Ай бұрын
Hi Pasi, Rogues Gallery hasn't had a release on splatter yet, the same with You Boyz Make Big Noize. I didn't buy Ballzy as I already have Beginnings and they are exactly the same album.
@6758pasiАй бұрын
@@CookieMusic43 I knew they were almost same, but wasn't there at least a difference in track order? And anyway if you buy the very same album with the only difference being the color of the vinyl, with Ballzy at least you would've got a different album art.
