I found a few glitter albums in a charity shop about a year ago- and I picked them up as he was huge in the 70s and as you say that music was part of my teenage years. I like to have them in my mainly 70s collection.

It makes you wonder why Mike Batt didnt concentrate on writing sensible (non Wombling) songs if he was such a good songwriter. He may have had a lasting musical career.

I think he went into musicals and stage shows etc and had quite a bit of success.

Hi Richard!!! that was a lot of cool music and plenty of artists/bands i have never listen to before or some "newer" to me like Smokie or Mungo Jerry.... Btw, naming a band Mud is not very "exciting". I really hate "cancel culture", easy way to scape from an arguement..... cheers and be well

man that was a whole lot of fun love all of those artists, music now has forgot how to be fun and you finish off with the icons that are the wombles the furriest and tidiest band in your collection, the new single in the heritage chart wombling usa and a 50th comp just released sure you will be adding that, cheers richard

Thanks Stephen, the new Wombles hits album seems to be very expensive. If I can get a physical copy of the single I'll go for that.

Nothing here to my taste though i could give Mungo Jerry a chance. I don't have anything from Gary Glitter in my collection though it could be possible that i could get the single he did with Girlschool. If i would have something from him i would keep it. The way i see it, the records did nothing wrong. I have a couple of Michael Jackson records and i do enjoy them when i happen to listen to them as they aren't really my kind of music. Whether he actually did something or not i left for somebody else to decide. Pasi

@@CookieMusic43 Yes sadly it is expensive. There is one track that's never had a vinyl release before (as far as I know), but a lot to pay nonetheless!

Good comment condemning Gary Glitter but acknowledging the music. So many rock stars behaved deplorably back then (even if not on the same level of horrid as Glitter). Most got away with sleeping with underage fans!

@@ashrobinson4604 I agree Ash, we don't know what went on back then and I can see other names being brought up in the future. I was considering leaving GG out completely but I really enjoyed his music especially as a kid. At least he is in prison and paying for his crimes now.
