It depends. If the jaws of the dog are between the two probes, yes, definitely possible. He was popped in the back though, and the dog was on his leg, so no. Puppy was safe.

There are instances where breaking the law will not result in prosecution, but they are few and far between. As an example, there was a case, I forget where, in which an officer was attacked in some manner (shot I think), and a passerby picked up the officers gun and shot the assailant. The problem was that the passerby was a felon and, therefore, prohibited from owning or *wielding* a firearm. However, since the breaking of that law was done to protect an officers life and public safety at large, he was never prosecuted for it. To sum up, there times when breaking a law is a good thing, but they are always very bad situations that you hope never happen anywhere near you.

Good question, Tyler. Only huge departments have divisions like that. Others don't have the manpower. We only have detectives, BUT...some people are really good at certain things, so they're given specific cases. One guy might really be good at crime scene stuff, so they task him with that. Someone else might be really good with tracking down a credit card fraud ring...etc.
