This video is a collection of a few video clips I made as I was driving from Maryland to California for a month-long camping and exploring trip. It's a 36-hour (behind the wheel) drive and I usually spend 3 days doing it. I had planned to do a more in-depth video blog of the adventure, but as usual, the driving became more important as I just wanted to get out there and start camping in the Mojave.
About Aquachigger:
I enjoy metal detecting for historical items like gold coins, relics, silver coins, and other buried treasures. I also metal detect for gold and silver nuggets and even meteorites. I like to make videos that promote my choice of lifestyle that includes outdoor adventure,
metal detecting, yapping, searching for river treasure, SCUBA diving, exploring abandoned places, hiking, caving, caring for animals and pets, and observing the things outdoors that often go unnoticed by most people who are not familiar with outdoor adventures and nature. I keep my KZbin "Aquachigger" channel family-friendly and hope you subscribe if you like my style.
BTW, you can also catch me here, / chiggsarmy ,but I may get a little edgier there. FB isn't a place for kids anyway...lol.

There's just something so ASMR about the section between 8:45-10:30 with the creaking truck and the road noise ... those are just oddly comforting. Don't know why ... maybe falling asleep in the car as a kid, although we never traveled out of town. I know, it's odd, but I just really like that section a lot ... I love the travel videos, and the road part, seeing parts of the highway I'll probably never see. Thanks, Chigg, for taking us along! - Muddypaw 🐾

I really hope at some point in my life I will be able to do a trip like this for some fun. Was lucky as a child that my grandfather was a hardcore Rock Hound and took me along alot of the time.... Now that im becoming an adult I really miss those times.. Brought back alot of good memories in this one... though....

Same! Every time I’ve driven cross country it’s just been to travel from my home to my destination. Well, except once, but it wasn’t cross country. My son and I flew to Seattle, rented an SUV and over three weeks we drove the Pacific Coast Highway all the way from Seattle to San Diego. It was an AMAZING trip! So beautiful and I highly recommend doing it at least once. We went in June so it was still a bit chilly in Seattle, Oregon and Northern California but there weren’t too many people on the roads so it was nice. We didn’t have a plan either. Each day we’d look at the map for somewhere else to stop that was 2-4 hours down the coast. Then we’d google things to do and see in that place to decide if that’s where we wanted to stop. If it was, I’d reserve a hotel or Airbnb in that city then we’d spend the day doing whatever we wanted before driving to that destination. We got to see so much cool stuff that I’ve always wanted to see. I plan to go back but next time I want to camp instead of staying in hotels. As much as possible, anyway. I’d like to do the same sort of thing but driving cross country.

This was beautifully done, Chig! Classy cinematography, the way you stitched segments into the compilation: journey consensed! Not only do you do a masterful job of gathering us up ( we are going) and " together" but you captured the scope length breadth and topography of crossing the continent!

My great grandparents had a service station just West of McLean TX on route 66. Not far from the Oklahoma line. You drove right over where their station was and right by where there small farm was/is. I'm not far from there. Pretty cool to see. 👍 McLean is about an hour from Amarillo. In the middle of no where. Just farms. Crazy thing is right off I40 a few miles from McLean next to my grandparent's there was a WW2 POW camp. Long gone now of course, but I always thought it would be cool to metal detect. Keep on keeping on 😎
